  1. Bring it on. Who gives a flying fk about what Kelty, Brora, East Stirling or Third Lanark think about why the season was curtailed. With that said, I do think while we've made reasonable improvements, particularly in goal, there is still a bit of work to be done at the other end of the pitch to get us comfortably to safety. However with the way the league is going to run (I imagine multiple games per week), it's just going to turn into a crap-shoot as to who gets the least injuries and it's going to have a massive impact on results. Whether we finish the season or not, whether Brechin finish bottom or not, this isn't a proper season and should be treated with a massive asterisk against it. To sign up for a 27-game season (already reduced from the normal season) then after playing a handful games change the goalposts and still promote/relegate teams is a farce. But then again what else would you expect from Scottish football? Edit: That's without even bringing player welfare into it.
  2. 10 points seperate the top 5 teams in the lowland league, and three of those teams have a game in hand. There's no chance they are going to agree on voting for a representative the way things stand now. Last season was a completely different story as the lowland league had played twice as many games and Brora were running away with the league when it was halted.
  3. If we're resorting to picking teams at random to compete in the play-offs then we'd be as well no bothering to play any games next season either. Alternatively, let's just vote the Old Firm as our representatives for the play-offs and get rid of one of them.
  4. We're going to sign a player at some point in the future. You heard it here first. wink wink nudge nudge. This ITK stuff is nonsense. Not giving names in case they are wrong and being as vague as possible so if any news comes out they can claim to have 'insider knowledge'. Grown adults
  5. Luckily there's no relegation from that... Yet! Good forward planning from Ken I assume
  6. Nice gesture of him to give back to the source of his summer signings!
  7. Having had a look at my own, there seems to be some discrepancies there too. Two of our group of 4 who attend all home games are on 6 points while another is on 11. Not sure how they are calculating it. The figures I posted have come straight from the SFA website: https://www.scottishfa.co.uk/scotland/supporters-tickets/scotland-supporters-club-membership/ssc-loyalty-points/
  8. That's also assuming everyone takes them up and doesn't already have tickets through previous ballots.
  9. Not sure if there is more current information available, but this is as of 28 February 2020: Number of Points Number of Members Running Total 32 points 70 70 31 points 7 77 30 points 34 111 29 points 6 117 28 points 52 169 27 points 45 214 26 points 76 290 25 points 46 336 24 points 86 422 23 points 55 477 22 points 110 587 21 points 100 687 20 points 152 839 19 points 132 971 18 points 177 1148 17 points 184 1332 16 points 239 1571 15 points 220 1791 14 points 305 2096 13 points 304 2400 12 points 448 2848 11 points 464 3312 10 points 493 3805 9 points 645 4450 8 points 747 5197 7 points 1165 6362 6 points 1387 7749 5 points 1393 9142 4 points 1808 10950 3 points 1966 12916 2 points 3718 16634 1 point 977 17611 0 points 1537 19148
  10. Absolutely not. I wish Michael all the best. My view has always been that he was appointed far too soon, not that he was/wasn't the right man for the job. He could win every game and my opinion that wouldn't change.
  11. Let's just continue to allow poor decisions go unchallenged. Thinking like that is exactly why we are where we are right now.
  12. I agree with most of what you have said there, however I'm not saying Paton isn't the right man for the job. Like you say, it's a bit premature to tell. That's why I think people are annoyed that he has been appointed so quickly without giving sufficient time to find out if he's the right man for the job. Obviously I hope he does well and we stay up but I really think it was a mistake to pull the trigger on appointing him so quickly, whether it works out or not.
  13. If nothing can be done until January why kneejerk into appointing a manager after one game? it's not like Paton was going anywhere else if he didn't get the job, he was under contract to us as a player!
  14. Maybe he has, but would it not have been prudent to at least give it a couple of weeks to see if that really was the case? Similar comments may have been said about Michael O'Neill but we were in a far stronger position then than we were now. O'Neill took about 6-8 months to get going, we don't have that luxury any more. I'm not saying Paton isn't going to turn out to be a good appointment, just that it's impossible to tell after one game. Going by today's performance I'd say not much has changed. Even prior to the red card we created next to nothing and the defence still looked awful. If you read the post you would have noticed I said 'other' worst team in the league. We can't play ourselves unfortunately.
  15. It was one win against the other worst team in the league by all accounts. I don't see why we had to kneejerk into an appointment so quickly - could we not have waited until after this weekend to see how we get on?
  16. 3 year deal after winning one game. No wonder we're in a mess. Fingers crossed it works out but what a massive, unnecessary gamble.
  17. I think the game being off might be as good as it gets for us at the moment. It would buy us some much needed time before an important game.
  18. it stems back to Dods - he was sacked far too late and like you say shouldn't have been given the summer following the 4 point season. Smith inherited Dods' squad and was given a chance to build his own team the following season - that didn't work out so he was punted and the same thing has happened with Wilson. Had we got rid of Dods at the right time, I doubt Smith or Wilson would have been given the summer to rebuild.
  19. I'm not saying now is the time to change but we can't afford to wait until it's too late. There are only 27 league games this season.
  20. I'd need to see the penalty incident again, I wasn't entirely sure what happened but it looked like the whole defence was a shambles for the second half in particular. I just find it a bit hypocritical to say you want to instil confidence in the keeper yet pick faults at every opportunity. I'm not denying that he has faults but people have short memories - he looked like a really good find at the start of last season and was making brilliant saves. There's a decent keeper in there someplace and he's still a young lad. Unfortunately we don't have time to wait for him to become consistent and get the mistakes out of his game.
  21. I'm sure criticising him on a public message board will help I know you seem to have an agenda against him at the moment and he hasn't been very good since before the Cove game last season, but I don't think he can be blamed for any of the goals yesterday. In fact he made a couple of decent saves which at the time kept us in the game.
