Never played this before so want to clarify to make sure I've read and understood.

For example if I picked Celtic week1 I could never pick them again for the entire time I was still in comp

    That is correct.

Thanks for organising mate, must be a b*****d! But a really good thing, so very much good on ye.

    Week 1 - Celtic

    Cheers!

It takes a bit of time at the start but it's more time-consuming than tricky tbh. I enjoy organising it though so it's really not a hassle at all.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the highly anticipated opening of the 2023 Last Man Standing tournament!

We're back and ready to embark on another thrilling season filled with suspense, strategy, and the quest for ultimate victory. It's time to gather your wits, make your selections, and join us for an unforgettable journey.

With just five weeks remaining until the new league campaigns kick off, now is the moment to showcase your foresight and make your mark in the tournament. The excitement is palpable, and the stakes have never been higher (Editor's note - They have).

The rules, if you need to be reminded, are as follows...

    • Your first entry must be in by 19:00 on Friday 4th August. That's the cut off point for entries.
    • Win only. Draw or lose - you're out.
    • You can pick each team only once. You can pick a team that someone else has picked, you can't pick that team again.
    • If you want to change your pick then you can do so, but only once, and this must be made clear with a new post. I won't accept just editing your original post.
    • If everyone is knocked out in the same Gameweek, they will all be put back in for the next Gameweek until we have a winner.
    • In the unlikely event of postponements, you will remain in until the following week but you will be unable to pick that team again.

Let's also take a moment to remind ourselves of the LMS Hall of Fame; each of these former champions have etched their names into the annals of history, forever remembered for their remarkable accomplishments:

    2009 - nofixedability
    2010 - Haitch
    2011 - Galabankie
2012 - gydiamond/Beachbum (Two tournaments were held this season...I think)
    2013 - roverthemoon
    2014 - Distant Doonhamer
    2015 - Funky Nosejob
    2016 - nofixedability
    2017 - wullie360
    2018 - DundeeSpider1867
    2019 - Silverton End
    2022 - Dysart

Folk are going on about all the hype and pageantry that went on. That's the difference.

That's just the club putting more effort into promoting the match, though. They called it an "Exhibition" to make it sound more exciting than a run of the mill friendly game.

There is no actual difference between the two. They could have equally called it a "Warm Up Match" or a "Super Duper Special Challenge Encounter".

  7. Well done to the club for getting 7000+ in for a pre-season friendly. I don't really care about pandering to Celtic fans etc; we've made a lot of money tonight for what was, after all, a totally meaningless football match.

As for the game, it's very early pre-season but you'll rarely see the Pars as overwhelmingly outclassed as that. Second best from minute one and scoreline could have been a lot worse. Hopefully they benefit from the minutes in their legs and aren't too disheartened because it's very unlikely we'll play anybody as good as that all year.

Sponsor logo on the home kit is proper minging. A fine effort apart from that.

Nice wee cameo from Tod Jr. Hope he gets a few opportunities in the League Cup matches.

I know he's your pal McPake but I *really* don't need to see McGowan again.

You won't see me paying it but would not surprise me at all if there were 100 folk who hold value in something like this.

    Could be a simple 5k.

The club should absolutely cherish any supporters who pay £50 for this because they will agree to *anything*.

  9. St Johnstone (A) - Raith (H) - East Fife (H) - Bonnyrigg (A)

Haven't played at Perth in over a decade, so that one is long overdue.

Pot 2 is absolutely minging with all Champ sides; at least a home game against the wee team would bring the club a bit of extra coin.

East Fife won't bring much but probably more than anyone else in Pot 4.

We have never played Bonnyrigg so would be a good one to get ticked off the list.

  10. United will obviously be huge favourites to go straight back up as champions, while I would expect Inverness CT & Partick Thistle to finish in the top four.

Would be superb if the Pars managed to get into the mix but I think we'll likely end somewhere between 5th and 8th. I'm sure more half the league will be within 5-10 points of each by the end anyway.
