  1. Scott Honeyman's signed for us until the end of next season. He's a starter every week for us and is influential for any real threat we create to the opposition this season. We have to play him due to how influential he is so when he returns to Falkirk he'll be all the better for it. However as you'll be a Championship club by then he may need a further loan to a club at a higher level. We've also signed former Falkirk player Morgaro Gomis until the end of next season. His experience is exciting.
  2. Ollie Smith before his recent injury.
  3. We could have been back along the M8 with the points. His foot's in touch...
  4. You're entitled to your opinion but... Scotland have qualified for a European football festival in the homeland of Oktoberfest and Bavarian beer halls. Regardless of who was in the group I'd be buzzing to go to Germany. Absolute party with beer steins in the air. However it's a very hard group but not the nightmare group that Wales could be in.
  5. Sorry for the very late reply. However I was being complimentary.
  6. I'm looking forward to tomorrow as it's a new ground to visit. The game itself is probably must win for us to try to build some sort of consistency but it's going to be very tough I'd wager. Let's see what happens though I guess. I hear there's some excellent pubs in the town too. If I can find a pub that has Viaplay Sports after the game then that'll be ideal.
  7. Fair play to Edinburgh Uni. They don't win at football all too often but they beat Bangor University on University Challenge on Monday night.
  8. Airdrie at home this weekend so Shire away to Celtic B on the Friday night. This frees me up all day on Saturday before Scotland v Ireland at 8pm. So I'm tempted to go to Falkirk v Hamilton. It's probably a 2 way tie between Falkirk and Hamilton to win League 1. However it's still early days so whoever wins gets a psychological advantage but it hardly hands them the title as it's only October. Having said all that I think Falkirk v Hamilton will be the game of the weekend in Scotland.
  9. Scott Honeyman scored for us tonight. Good attitude to find the equaliser after going 1-0 down after just 5 mins. I thought we went toe to toe with FT opposition and deserved the draw. It's great to have Honeyman back though. He just seems to have a an energy that rubs off on the rest of the team.
  10. We've signed Scott Honeyman back on loan till January. That'll suit us as he'll provide some threat going forward to try to get us a bit more up the table. It'll suit you guys as well as he's still just a kid and it'll get him more experience. Hopefully he'll be in the squad for Friday night for our Lowland League game vs Hearts B.
  11. You're correct. Macedonian/Greek politics is a complex situation and had you been on University Challenge with Aberdeen or Robert Gordon you'd have aced the Greek history questions. Just tell the locals that Alexander the Great and Aristotle were top lads and you'll be fine. Don't mention Plato as he was from Athens.
  12. As someone who supports all Scottish clubs in Europe, I think Aberdeen have the best chance to go on a run if they play well. Celtic could've had a worse Champions League group but have been in a rut at that level for some time. Rangers are the better Old Firm team in Europe these days but, whilst they'll beat Aris Limassol home and away, just now they're capable of slipping up vs Sparta Prague. Real Betis will be too good. Aberdeen however have the best shout. Eintracht Frankfurt will be faves to win the group, but Hearts didn't play well enough rather than Salonika being too good. Helsinki are the weakest imho and Aberdeen should be looking to win at home and maybe even away too. I was surprised when they slipped up to Hacken at home. After getting a draw in Sweden I honestly believed Aberdeen would finish the job. Pittodrie is a very tough venue when Aberdeen are on form and Helsinki and Gothenburg are more well known for skiing and melodic death metal bands tbh...
  13. Yeah. I've generally switched off to that now tbh. I noticed in the 2nd half Pat was sitting in the stand. I hear rumours he was sent to the stand. I didn't notice anything myself unless something happened in the tunnel or suchlike.
  14. The penalty was soft but my concern was we couldn't get settled at the back albeit our scrambled defence was good. At the other end we showed the fantastic efforts of the players to create but apart from our goal we didn't create enough panic in the Berwick defence. Scullion under pressure? No. Too early. On paper it's 1 point from 15 which obviously isn't great in theory but the effort's there across the park and I'm thinking (hoping) Edinburgh Uni and Gretna will be the crash mat this season. However we've got chances to build momentum as we're away to Gretna this Saturday then go to Edinburgh Uni early September. We're also at home in the 2nd round of the South Challenge Cup vs Sauchie or Crossgates Primrose who're both in a lower tier. That's obviously not the league but a win can inject confidence. That's 3 stand out games in the next month to lift us off the deck. They all need to be won I'd say.
  15. Yeah you guys too. Best of luck apart from when you visit us haha. As for winning the league your games vs Tranent will be huge I'd wager.
  16. I go to the odd Falkirk game due to F&F being Falkirk fans so I'm considering a night oot to Spartans on Tuesday night. Arbroath was a pre season match but as for the League Cup unless you get out of the groups into the knock outs then you can't take shock results seriously as it's just pre season with a competitive edge. I was at Shire v Hutchison Vale on Friday night and the new pitch looks amazing. Also the pitch markings are actually sewn into the surface as opposed to paint. As a neutral none of Falkirk's fixtures excite me too much which is a good thing. Falkirk are the strongest team in League 1 as Hamilton are in transition. Falkirk should be targeting to win League 1 come the end of the season.
  17. In other news the URC fixtures get released on Tuesday.
  18. There's an obsession with the Hampden lads about marrying up Scottish rugby to the Tories imo. They promote a tired stereotype but they're entitled to their opinions I guess. However a lot of Scottish rugby fans aren't in agreement with those appointments and quite cynical of it. Personally, I will never vote Tory but if there's the expertise to bring the organisation forward on and off the park after their political career then I'm open minded to it.
  19. Lo and behold! I ask about the fixtures and then they're released minutes later Thanks anyway folks.
  20. Now that the SPFL fixtures are out, does anyone know when the LL fixtures are coming out? Ta...
  21. We played Whitburn tonight at Little Kerse. Won 3-1. Whitburn took the lead at the start of the 2nd half which woke us up. Our 3rd goal was an excellent free kick from Gregor Fotheringham.
  22. Our 1st 3 fixtures of the new season are out. I thought that we needed the SPFL to confirm theirs first but I guess it works as Falkirk are away to Partick on 22nd July then at home to Peterhead on the 29th in League Cup games...
  23. 1st pre season friendly announced. Sat 1st July 2pm KO. Away to Clydebank...
  24. As a fan of a team in the Lowland League I think it's preposterous that we'd be going down a division to accommodate this anomaly division. There's a conference division in England. However that's legit as there's more teams to work with in England. I'd be ok with that but as it's essentially a tactic to help the Old Firm and other Premiership teams it's in complete disregard to lower league clubs interest. Also, the argument that it'll get the Premiership youngsters getting top level game time earlier which could improve Scotland as a national team in the long run is a straw house to me. I get that idea in theory but I'm a club supporter, a trip to Hampden is just like a wee night oot to the theatre as far as I'm concerned. So please, get this conference in the bloomin' bin...
