  1. Standard (red) bottle is horrendous. Fire water (ironic because you know, dragon). The Madeira cask might save its reputation but not tried that one.
  2. My very same predicament. Timed my run to perfection seeing as it's now Christmas!
  3. I absolutely loved big Anton, and still do. Just a nice, nice guy.
  4. I thought we said no Peter Kay's Car Share, or am I
  5. Interesting, I'd be happy with that. https://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/sport/football/peterborough-united/peterborough-united-agree-fee-second-scottish-premier-league-side-mark-ohara-2890382
  6. You try summat and that's...
  7. After my Glencairn glass suffered a crack and the other smaller stumpier one barely served its purpose, I decided to invest in a copita glass as I'd always wanted one. Had my first dram in it last night and can honestly say it was one of the best whisky experiences I've had. I had no idea how the shape of a glass could enhance the smell of the whisky. It's quite a large copita with a decent sized base so plenty of swirling capability which seems to release more aroma. With a smaller Glencairn my nose was almost too close to the malt so could only really smell the alcohol but no such trouble with a deeper glass. Had a Tomintoul 16 miniature I'd been saving and was really enjoyable. I've had a rule where I only have 5 bottles at any one time, which stops me from blowing all my money on bottles I'll take a lifetime to drink. But recently I've finished off a Laphroaig 10 and a Dalwhinnie 15, leaving two Balvenies and a Royal Lochnagar 12. Enjoying the Deanston reviews on here so I might look in that direction, and am considering either an Ardbeg or a Lagavulin 16 to keep Islay represented. It's probably been mentioned earlier in the thread but does anyone have any subscriptions etc they would recommend where they get a certain number of samples a month for example?
  8. "Scottish football is abysmal"?? Hope Jamie drowns in the pool tbh.
  9. Heard her asking Luke T whether there would ever be a boy, born, who could swim faster than a shark.
  10. I couldn't make the game today but would have taken a point before kick off given the sheer scale of injuries we have at the moment. I'll take it all the more seeing as we were 3-1 down. That is excellent attitude from the players to step up and grind that out in the circumstances. Injury-dependent we should be looking to take all three at Perth next week.
  11. I'm glad someone's paying attention. The rest of you should hang your heads in shame. *Hastily edits post*
  12. Really enjoyed that yesterday despite the rain, swirling wind and general poor game. I thought we didn't play all that well again but sheer hard work and determination from a depleted squad saw us through. We should have had the game dead and buried before the hour and I have no idea what we were doing in the closing stages to see the game out, but we did. Morias was a right handful and I so want him to do well, he gives everything and has shown a great attitude despite not really having much of a sniff since joining. Magennis looked far more interested today but nowhere near his best. Ryan Flynn looked a tad uncomfortable at right back but fair play to him for putting in a shift, and was still a great asset in moving the ball out of defence across the pitch. Highlights - three points, Cammy MacPherson (for his goal and overall dogged performance you need against Accies), the return of Cody Cooke and his majestic hair, and the chant to Sam Stubbs telling him his dad's a w****r. But then again he probably already knows that. Another must win on Saturday, hope we've not lost anyone further to injury.
  13. Has he been punted?? It's a Christmas miracle. What did he say this time?
  14. I thought that was odd too, maybe he was responding to our bitterness that we're the only full time side he's never played for? As if it needed to be said, that's a huge 3 points. I'd put it in the "must win" category before kickoff given how poor our away form has been. We should really be looking to beat every bottom 6 side (Hibs perhaps excluded for now) at home. We were poor in the first half, most balls to Obika returned nothing and our overall play was laboured. County looked threatening on the break, took their goal well and thought we were undeservedly level at the break. No idea what happened at the goal as I thought the referee had awarded a penalty before the ball hit the net. Clearly not! Second half we were far better. We kept creating opportunities and Durmus should have scored before he was taken off. Bar one short spell, Saints were well on top and deserved the win. That wee bit of skill from Kyle Mc and the incredible finish from Foley being the difference. Given how much better we were in the second half, I thought we just edged it although County can count themselves unlucky. Incidentally I was quite surprised at the relative strength of the County bench: Foster, Erwin, Spittal, Paton, Watson...are these guys getting a look in normally or is there a good reason they're not starting?
  15. One point is from the games v Livi, Ross County and Hamilton is unforgivable. That said it's clear to see Goodwin has built a good squad full of talented players, and at times we're playing some really nice football. Problem is we are nowhere near clinical enough and it's going to cost us unless we can start getting points on the board. Today Hamilton came with the same gameplan we adopted against Rangers and the only difference was it worked for Accies, and fair play to them. Stubbs looks an excellent CB and unfortunately for him, is the spitting image of his atrocious father. I don't think the sending off changed the game (I'm not convinced there was much in it) and we really should have scored at the end. I thought we should have had a penalty, as soft as it would have been. The referee had been given fouls for similar nudges but Morais should be doing better. I get we're still experimenting up front but you'd have to say Mullen is the most natural goalscorer out of all of them. Hasn't had nearly enough time to impress. McAllister is an enigma and did absolutely nothing when he came on. Flynn played at least three defence-splitting passes and his partnership with Foley continues to grow. I'd stick with them. I think we'll be fine but we need to move the ball quicker and work on being more clinical if we're going to beat teams like Hamilton and Livingston and avoid another relegation scrap. PS not that it determined the result, but that referee, and we're saying this week after week, was an absolute clown. Where are we getting these guys from?
  16. Bumping this thread as I’m going to New York in a few weeks with my other half. Always wanted to go and can’t quite believe we’re finally going. We’re planning to squeeze in the following over a few days: Walking tour of Wall St, Little Italy and Chinatown 9/11 memorial and museum Top of the Rock MetLife Stadium (NY Giants game) Madison Square Garden Central Park Brooklyn Greenwich Village Amongst other things, depending on time and the weather. Any tips welcome, even if it’s just, “don’t do that, it’s shite”.
  17. Tbf he’s not really clued up about that, Derek prefers revels.
  18. This “hearsay” appears to have been repeatedly stated only by you with no evidence with which to back it up. Anyway, I’m looking forward to Sunday’s game after the positive start to the season and the promising signing made during the week. Expect Rangers to win but even the knowledge we can even compete with a top six side is a very strange feeling indeed.
