  1. McIntyre gave all the scores at 5.03pm, just after the news. However, he rattled through them so rapidly that it just gave the impression that he felt he had to get this inconvenient task out of the way as quickly as possible so he could get back to talking about the Celtic match.
  2. Chicken satay skewer and Korean King prawn bulogi at Asian Kitchen, Inverurie
  3. Morton v Hearts, Scottish Cup £2.50
  4. Pre, during, and post match images from Cove in May
  5. I did wonder if it was an extra welcome for us when they realised there were 2 Scots at the match
  6. 04/02/24 Benferri CF v CD Polop Campo de fútbol municipal 'Luis Rocamora', Benferri (first person to check-in at this ground on Futbology!) Regional Preferente Valenciana Grupo IV (7th tier in Spain) Rough head count: ~200 (+ 2 dogs) Admission: €5 Empanadilla + can of beer (4.8%): €2.70 I was impressed with the standard of play from both teams and the behaviour of both players and fans. Both sides played attacking football throughout the match and showed respect to each other and the officials. After a foul, the players would shake hands and get on with play. When players queried a decision with the referee, they listened to and accepted his response without argument. There was no abuse directed at the officials, even when Villa was surprisingly (as it was a very clean match) sent off for a 2nd yellow late in the game. Benferri were favourites in this match of 2nd v 14th. Polop were just in the relegation zone (16 team league) and Benferri had a 14 match unbeaten streak. However, it just wasn't their day. Benferri looked the better side overall, were quick on the break, and had the most scoring opportunities. Polop defended solidly and clearly had an experienced goalie who was constantly shouting instructions at his teammates. Both sides were awarded a penalty - Polop scored their one, the aforementioned Villa had his shot saved by the excellent Polop goalie. FT: Benferri 2 Polop 4 Lovely location, warm sunshine, and plenty of goals. Also, a novelty to be able to stand at the pitchside with a can of beer! Would definitely return and would love to watch a derby match against CD Murada who are currently top of the league.
  7. The highlights show starts at 7.15; the draw is 8.15.
  8. Broughty Athletic 5 Montrose Roselea 1 Crowd clearly boosted by the other postponements as there were a few coats/hats for other Midlands League clubs visible. Broughty were the better team in the 1st half, but didn't capitalise on their chances and only led 1-0 at the break. They scored again early in the 2nd half but Roselea got a goal back almost immediately. A crazy spell began when a Broughty shot came of the bar and looked as though it had gone in. No goal was given but they did get awarded a penalty and Roselea were reduced to 10 men. After converting the penalty, their further 2 goals also came from penalties, the first just 2 minutes later and the other one 7 minutes after that. Some Roselea fans were not happy about all the penalty awards but they did look fair.
  9. Always a chance, but artificial pitch reduces likelihood of it being off.
  10. 6th January 2024 Nairn St Ninian v Dyce Showfield FT 3-3 (HT 2-2) Took in first half of this match while in Nairn for Nairn County v Brechin City. Hadn't realised there was a match on, but went to have a look at the ground and saw players warming up. Spoke to someone and found out kick off was to be at 1.30pm. Had an excellent macaroni pie (pie stall supplied by local butcher) which was great value. Dyce looked the better team initially but St Ninian scored against the run of play after poor defending. Dyce almost immediately got a deserved equaliser. Midway through the half man of the match Charlie Fonwban scored a cracking goal for his 2nd and Dyce equalised again just before half time. Only about 10 min walk to Station Park if combining visits, but also worth attending in its own right.8
  11. I say 'salute' (sa-loo-tay), which is the Italian version of 'bless you'.
  12. Can't vote as it insists on votes for all 3 categories and I can't give an answer to Q1 (no interest in these games so don't recognise any of the 3 options listed). Would probably say Fifa rather than FC24 as at least I have heard of it. Definitely Twitter instead of X.
  13. Late call off at Glebe Park (Brechin City v Banks O'Dee) as ref didn't fancy it, so headed to Station Park for Forfar Athletic v East Fife. Reasonably enjoyable match despite the weather and 0-0 scoreline. Questionable red card for Skelly (Forfar) at 37 minutes - didn't see the incident properly - but East Fife were unable to take advantage. Forfar had the better chances both before and after the red card (including a shot off the post, an indirect free kick in the box after a handled passback, and a goal disallowed for offside), although East Fife also had some scoring opportunities.
  14. From FWE Facebook: "Match abandoned 81 minutes due to incident in Scone dugout" Score was 1-2 at the time of abandonment.
  15. The photos taken from the stand side were taken at ground level.
  16. These are from a recent visit to Princess Royal Park. I think you are right and your photo is of Canal Park.
  17. Have watched Roselea at both grounds this season. Broomfield Park is definitely worth a visit and feels more like a Midlands League ground.
  18. Kilmarnock do a monthly 'magazine' covering all matches in the month rather than separate programmes for each game. £4, but good quality and lots of high standard content so decent value.
  19. It is just off Wellington Road, but I would state the location as Torry. Although nearby, Tullos Park isn't a useful landmark for the ground. The Costa Coffee on the corner of Wellington Road and Abbotswell Road is a more useful reference point.
  20. Broxburn Athletic 3 Lochee United 0 Scottish Cup 2nd qualifying round Crowd - 320 Had initially planned to go to Stonehaven v Kirrie Thistle, but ended up on airport duty and this fitted in well. Sorry I didn't say hello Marten - I did wonder if you would be there but didn't see you. Made sure I got a pie before kick off... it was delicious, definitely one of the best. Competitive first half with Broxburn having the best chance. 0-0 at HT. Broxburn scored twice early in the 2nd half and took control of the game. Lochee had some chances and were wrongly denied a penalty, only for Broxburn to score their 3rd almost immediately after. Enjoyable ground to visit.
  21. Broxburn Athletic v Lochee United, 02/09/23 Very impressive and excellent value for £2. Good quality paper/printing. Lots of content, including: - president's and manager's updates - today's opposition - photos from 2 recent matches (4 pages) - meet the volunteers interview - player interview - articles on 100 years ago, past programme (v Lochee United), and 1924/25 cup run + copy of newspaper report from 1975/76 - non-league round up - local amateur football review - report by The Grey Haired Groundhopper
