  1. Hi Tam. Odd that your first message claimed I was an anonymous account, and yet now you're posting a picture of me, which is from my very public Twitter account as though it's some sort of gotcha. I doubt anyone on here doesn't know who I am, I've never made any sort of secret of it. I have attached a couple of your misogynistic Instagram posts below. I suspect you don't think there's anything wrong with them, but that's sort of the issue here. They don't offend me, my main thought when I saw them was just "I'm surprised the BBC haven't had a word about these", particularly after what happened with women's football before. I listened to Off the Ball for a while and used to really enjoy it. I even went to a live show you guys did a few years ago. I don't listen as much now because I'm not in the car going to games these days, so I've barely posted on this thread. I think digging through the thread looking for criticism is a bit odd, and then shoving it on your social media accounts is even weirder. However, folk do that sort of stuff all the time, and each to their own. I think it's particularly strange and not really very healthy for someone to be finding and posting pictures of people to post out to a big audience such as yours. I would probably be within my rights to complain to the BBC (and probably even Instagram) about it, but it doesn't bother me enough to do that and I'm not someone to try to get people into trouble. Maybe just have a wee think to yourself about whether it's a sensible route to be taking though.

  4. Famously massive in Ederson's development having been 1st choice keeper at his club in Brazil. Then becoming 1st choice at Rio Ave before being signed by Benfica just as he was about to turn 22. It was those FOUR games that made him.

  5. Cowan's Instagram is absolutely horrendous, full of the very worst yer da jokes and absolutely dripping in misogyny. I think there's a very fair point in there about why the BBC's social media guidelines don't seem to extend to Scotland - you also had Steven Thompson making what basically amounted to a homophobic joke the other week.

  6. Ground sharing was one of the reasons I walked away. I had worked myself through covid on half wages, when it got to August and the season looked like commencing at the start of October I asked them to start up Ally again so we could get everything ready. As I was doing it myself I was only concentrating on the pitch and there was plenty of other stuff that had been neglected round the stadium. I was then told we were looking at ground sharing with BSC Glasgow( just left Alloa) or Celtic reserves plus I wasn't getting Ally back. I was meant to do double the work with half the staff, apparently they would have provided someone if i needed help, total joke you can't work like that. They were already getting my services for peanuts so unfortunately I took the decision to wrap it. I do have some sympathy with the boy that's doing it as I know what he's working with but I did give him my number and said any problems or you need a hand just call me. He never did. This isn't just a new owner situation. Just a last wee insight to my life under that chairman I asked at the start of January for 12 bags of fertilizer(£120) I waited a month to get a decision, I sent him a picture of a green pitch from the start of the month and one a month later that was brown. I said that's what happens if you don't get me what I need. His reply was 'oh I see what you mean now' A few on here know all this as I've private messaged them in the past. I hope you don't mind me getting that off my chest as I hurts me more than you guys to see that pitch like that. Hope it gets rectified sooner rather than later.

  7. I'm probably gonna sound like a dick here(not for the first time but there we are) but I'll put it out there. One thing myself and some mates have done is bringing up FSS when chatting to FFC supporting mates about the club and getting a feel if they have signed up. I realised months after it has started I didn't actaully know if any of my mates had joined - so I asked. If they said 'no' then I asked why not? Not in a demanding way..just to be curious which then opened up the dialogue. Of course we don't know each others exact financial situations but most people have an idea of how close friends are doing. But simply by bringing it up into conversation can help spread the word. Not necessarily 'peer pressure' but just chatting and sometimes folk just aren't aware and if you explain - it does work. An example was a mate of mine who lives in London. We were visiting him a few months ago, got talking about FFC. He was a big fan in the 90s/2000s but he hadn't been to a game in years. He'd lost a bit of interest due to relocating and also the sh*tshow of the past few years but he still followed the results. He's got a spare bob or two and after a few pints and us explaining what it was all about and where we were as a club financially he had signed up. Of course if yer talking to yer pal and ask him if he's signed up and he says "I cant even pay the leccy bills" then you know its a closed door so I'm not saying you guilt trip people. But, as we'll no doubt see with the interest in the Semi final game - a few folk will come out the woodwork so maybe a good opportunity to mention it to them if you can. I'll probably get shot down in flames for the above but there ye go...

  10. Not really. Tam Cowan is only about 50. The alternative comedy boom started when he was about 10 years old, and by the time he hit twenty, that style of humour was already the preserve of forgotten old dinosaurs. Just like his musical taste, he's kindof doing his impersonation of a 50-year old from the 1970s, rather than actually being a 50-year old today.

  11. Youve got nothing to worry about this season, really. I know top 6/europe is the goal but you can experiment on your way. Presumably bedding this guy in with a view of him being set to start next season while you sell Baccus for a decent fee is the plan. Clubs who plan ahead while strong tend to keep getting better.

  12. Competent administrators? Im not saying im against the principle of a centre left party with progressive ideas who want an independent Scotland. Thats great. But what we have instead is a bunch of numpties at the heart of government making daft decisions, passing poorly thought out legislation and not delivering. Unfortunately these people will make the goal most of us share (indy) a less likely thing. I think it’s alright to say that despite the lack of choice im unhappy with the options.

  14. You got a comprehensive reply because I don't red dot without giving someone the courtesy of an explanation. Even if their view is blinkered and dogmatic. OK, so the first point, Fir Park. Capacity approx 13k, South Stand holds 5k, 4.5k season ticket holders (including free kids), that number drops be 500-1,000 when you and your ugly sister roll into town. The Phil O'Donnell is the main stand and houses hospitality, directors and the old boys who like that vibe, the Cooper (behind the goals) houses our family section and the Hunter (what you can see opposite the telly camera's) is where the majority of our support sit. To accommodate your suggestion/entitlement means moving season ticket holders and a healthy dose of bad blood between the support and club. John Boyle did it and our former CEO now at Aberdeen said it would rightly never been repeated. Not to mention fans returning to their seats to find stickers with Gaelic slogans and AK47's on them, that is if they've not been trashed. Now to throw that back at you, say you and the Hunnorum decide to go back to what you did for up to 15 years ago and give up a fair portion of your Stadium. Would you like to be the one to tell those with season tickets in the Lisbon Lions stand that they're getting punted to accommodate the mob from Govan again? I doubt it, so why ask it of other clubs. Rangers success in the 90's was down to far more astute dealings on the transfer market and better management on and off the pitch. When they were competing against Marseille in the CL, your cash from turnstyles was being taken in biscuit tins. Ironically, that has shifted full circle since. In the 90's they were sustainable, its when they moved into the new millenium that the wheels came off by trying to maintain parity with the English Premiership and look for loopholes to do so. I'm sure Hibs fans will be interested to know what "path" they followed. As one pointed out already, it seems they just didn't win as frequently. I support my team because I grew up in the town. I made a decision upon starting high school that my support was worth more to me and the place I lived than trudging into Glasgow despite family connections. If someone lives in Blantyre I'd be asking why the f**k aren't you giving Accies a second thought, why are the OF the default? For all these fans unwilling to use a ruler, I guess what we know what their motivator is, because it's not a tie to their area, hassle factor of getting to games, travelling time or integrity. Can you explain why no more than 40k show up for midweek games against diddy teams then if there's such a "buzz". And don't go to the official attendance, its well known you publish the season ticket number as your base figure regardless. Bus parking Aberdeen won that Euro trophy 40 years ago, the club has only fleetingly dared to suggest they are as competent since. How about Dundee United, they were also a decent club in the 80's ..... Jesus on a bike. The reason teams alter their tactics is because a 0-9 may have a significant effect on moral and momentum at the time and goal difference at the business end of the season. Again let me throw that back. Imagine you didn't f**k the CL up and were in the mix on the final gameweek at the Bernabeu. Keep the loss at two goals or less and you get the Europa. Would Celtic come out all guns blazing and have a go to get 2nd place? I sincerely doubt it. Stop asking of others what you're not prepared to ask of yourselves.

  16. It's definitely the worst I've ever felt after a game. Even the days we have been relegated / Alloa away when we missed a massive penalty (common theme btw) to ruin the title as we thought at the time didn't really bother me beyond a couple of pints / good sleep. Think league games are less of an issue for me weirdly as you know the next season is going to bring about a new squad/ new challenge / new drama no matter if you go up / down / stay same. I'm personally feeling this one more as this was a chance for a semi and maybe even a final at Hampden. Realistically the only time I'd have got to do that with my old man and my son all together. We will be doing it twice this month watching Scotland but just feels a sickener not getting to do it for Ayr too - wasn't even something I'd ever even considered getting the chance to do until we got such an easy, one in a million run of draws. Think that's why I'm so angry. Would have been better just doing our usual and going out to a St Mirren or Livi in the early rounds without a whimper.

  17. Surely just a matter of time until Tam Cowan is on GB News complaining that lefty snowflakes and woke liberals have stolen his free speech/cancelled him/silenced him and gotten him fired from the BBC and that, despite being from a working class area hammered by Tory policies, has now been forced by the aforementioned lefty snowflakes and woke liberals to vote Tory.

  19. You've found a way to explain how you've been cheated out of 30 in a row. I bet you'd love to win 30 titles in a row, you'd see nothing hollow in that. How do you explain season 93/94 when you finished 4th though? My father is a Celtic fan. My mother is from Coatbridge, her mother's family are all Irish. I didn't have to support Celtic as well and I don't. Not sure why that's nuts.

  20. It’s weird that while this feels like so much more than a standard defeat, the margins were still so small - the penalty conceded - the missed penalty - the deflected winner So it CAN be argued that we were unlucky, however, the vast majority of us here feel that it was much more than that, and we more or less opened up that door to allow the defeat, when we should have slammed it shut. I’m less upset about what happened as opposed to the decisions that weren’t made - especially about formation, tactics and lack of subs. And while I don’t want to point the finger at Bullen, I don’t see any other option.

  21. Probably Whitehill's best week for years. After knocking Preston out of the King Cup last midweek and defeating promotion hopefuls Nitten away on Saturday, they got a stoppage time equaliser to take a point off second top Glenrothes at the San Fergie last night. Glenrothes had led since the second minute and missed a few decent chances. Whitehill had a couple of their own and just about merited their point. Absolutely Baltic and frost on the car windscreen after the game. Photo taken right at the start and the crowd did improve to about 60-70.

  22. I disagree, I love nothing more than reminding they c***s that us diddies are simply just better people and get more fulfillment out of the football than they ever will. I've got a pal who has seen x amount of Hampden final wins as a Celtic fan and he turns up at work the next again day/Monday as if it was just another weekend. If we win the cup I'll be a write off for weeks on end. It will one of the highlights of my life. They'll never get that buzz. Granted I might not either as it stands but I'd always have that dream.

  23. Aye this is my thoughts as well. It would be nice to have and then have the Fans to fill it, but I'm not bothered about not having one. By that I mean, I have no idea why other clubs use it as a stick to beat us with? It's a very Charlie Nicholas type insult. Do other teams get slagged for only having 3 stands? I.e. Partick thistle or Hamilton or clubs with only 1 stand, your Dumbarton and East fife's. Or we could look at Airdrie and have 4 stands and only ever use 2 of them? What's the point in having 4 stands if they are not needed? What a bizarre thing to use to point score

  24. A great summary of all the interesting stuff you've learned. Dundee, Morton and Inverness fans may hijack match threads with gratuitous abuse but QP fans will overwhelm you with fascinating historical information. As for the game - Queen's have been blowing hot and cold recently, Inverness are on a high with a possible cup final looming, so I'm not confident about this one at all. A 1-1 draw.

  25. Interesting Podcast with the directors. Firstly the conspiracies (mostly negative) about how we are treated by the council are certainly not what the directors conveyed, and reading between the lines the club are very happy with the existing model. Maybe a small hint that we are benefitting not being the owners. However, the important and critical dialogue/message is our current business model. We simply need an additional £300-£500K injection of cash every season to sustain the existing business model, or if we were to run without debt, around £400K would need to be slashed/removed from John McGlynns football budget. They did reinforce that the club know the importance of giving the manager the best budget in order to compete and challenge, but another season in league one without the additional cash couldn’t really be sustainable, in the current model. A lot of discussion about the importance of the FSS and the club fully behind and backing them to do well. Projected numbers to roughly double which increase yearly investment close to £200K. (Can’t recall if a timeline was quoted) For me, the current BOD are 100% correct to reset/remodel the club as there’s not a business model that budgets for a £400K loss in any new season/financial year (obviously exceptions being very wealthy individuals who are happy to surface any losses which we don’t have) Clearly there’s an army of people who have dug deep to help out the club, at a time where inflation and energy costs have rocketed, which the directors thanked ( continually throughout the podcast) I’ve not done the maths, but an example used by one of the directors- one takeaway coffee every week, this would amount to a monthly subscription of £10 to the FSS. ( I would probably have a cinnamon twirl so could probably stretch to £15)

  32. Dykes scored in four consecutive qualifiers, three of them winners, and has 8 in 26 for Scotland overall. He's very obviously not as good as Adams as a player, but he's more likely to score goals. Just to put his goalscoring figure into context, the only Scotland players this century who have more are Miller, McFadden, McGinn, (Steven) Fletcher and Naismith, and he'll likely overtake the latter two in fewer caps.

  33. Sandy - we're getting a plethora of stick for the present day success; we can't win. Well, actually, we are winning and hopefully we continue that on Saturday. We do have a history that's unrivalled in Scotland and we'll keep reminding the rest of you how great it is. We might well add to it this year; we'll see.

  38. Does any FFC fan actually care about us not having a fourth stand? It used to bother me years ago but if we were to mirror the main stand it would end up making the fans more spread out and kill the atmosphere. Seems to only bother weirdos from other supports. The stadium was rocking last night and that was due to a good home crowd and a very good away crowd. Suppose we could build a stand then just not open it up and that would stop all the moaning...
