  4. You get why we're unhappy and your primary solution is to open more of our stadiums seating so you may outnumber us there too and we may get your cast off League Cup once in a blue moon. Your generosity knows no bounds. I suppose we should be ..... grateful? Your recollection of history is equally cloudy. Your cross town neighbours had a stadium disaster that required a legacy. So they did so in the late 70's which was funded by a fans football pools. After years of mismanagement, Fergus stepped in and facilitated the redevelopment of Parkhead however did it again via the fans buying shares issues (£26m) probably about as much of a burden to the footballing budget as it was 15-20 years before. Would the £9m he put in have been alternatively invested in the team? I doubt it, he was astute and walked away break even at worst. He's up there with Brother Walfrid as intrinsic and important to your club. He was also hounded by more than a minority at his pre-defined exit point which is mind boggling. To go from an average attendance of 35,000 with 7,000 season tickets before reconstruction to 51,000 after, that reeks of an element of glory hunting and excitement at the new shiney toy. To suggest its purely the Irish diaspora looking for a spiritual home is pushing it a bit. There is a team in Edinburgh who were formed before you who likewise offered a focus, but today buses and buses leave the capital every weekend for Glasgow. That says your club and your neighbours offer something particular that doesn't exist quite the same elsewhere. As the dominant force with the nailed on guarantee of UEFA money every year it is not surprising you're happy to continue with the procession. Just have to make sure you don't mess up too many of the 4 games you really care about. Not that you need them at present. But we shouldn't park the bus so you win by 5+ every week. I mean is your 12th man support and 18x financial advantage not enough? The rest of us are just scunnered with you sucking up any talented youth players we get coming through our ranks and all your various levels of pish (victimisation, establishment, refs, glorifying terrorists, sectarianism, bigotry, poppy stuff, and any oppressed peoples politics/causes you wish to align with). As Scots it's often said when the Tartan Army travels, a big bit of it is being fun and distinguishing themselves to be the polar opposite from the Engerlund fans who send patio furniture skiting across cobbled city centre squares. You need to appreciate and absorb that pretty much everyone else in Scottish football sees you as our beered up English supporters.

  8. An actual fucking supporters club called Leith Celtic btw. Frankly, I simply pity them. They are life's losers, without the moral fibre or character to support an actual football team. Clearly they are lacking the emotional maturity to follow a club who actually might lose a domestic game more than once or twice a year. So off they go to Glasgow, in search of something "more". The vicarious feeling of superiority and dominance that they don't get in their miserable lives away from football. That special feeling of being accepted in a cult of fellow weirdos, oddballs and divorcees. I look forward to their early exit from Europe - and the subsequent gnashing of teeth and wailing - more and more every year. F**k them.

  10. Could not be happier for John McGlynn. A better man in football you’ll struggle to meet. That interview on the BBC is a gifmakers dream. That performance had all the hallmarks of a McGlynn team. Well organised, with the belief to play some really good football. Enjoy Hampden.

  11. Blown probably the best chance the club will ever get to reach the Scottish cup final. Still seen nothing to suggest Bullen has a single clue how to coach a football team.

  12. The Caley? We lost a game and got drawn against Killie. Can you get more favourable than that?

  13. Much has been made of us deserving to be where we are and it’s true - we’re in the third tier because we were run like a basket case for a number of years. But the fans have stuck by the club remarkably over that time and really deserved a night like that. We’re on the up again. I love this club.

  18. I didn't expect 1250 sold already - that's really impressive. I'm still swithering. It's about an hour away from me and as far as I can see I can bring my kids for free (u12s free when you buy an adult ticket - very cool). My health isn't great and the weather is ridiculously wet but I know we don't get many games like this - I'll make a decision late on. Either way - come on Ayr.

  24. There's a lot of shite in here, but first and foremost the claim that it's some massive misty eyed Irish diaspora that powers Celtic attendances and not glory hunting can be pretty readily disproved by looking at how shite your attendances have been in the very few fallow periods. You lot like winning, nowt wrong with that, but own it

  25. I'm welling up here after reading that. What celtic have been through and what they do for Scottish fitba is amazing. We should have a celtic day every year where we can all celebrate celtics greatness.

  26. It is but for some reason I just don't have a buzz for it yet. Maybe because its a Monday or possibly the disappointment of last week is still lingering. Hopefully come 5pm that all changes.

  27. Not sure whether these are of interest but I have a couple of my great, great papas Motherwell player match letters from 1901. Don't know much about him, but from the MotherWELLnet site it looks like he played with Motherwell 4 times. Got a few more of these from his time with Hibs too around 1902/03, as well as the contracts he signed with them and his official player ID card. Let me know if you'd like them posted.

  28. The football is brutal though. Absolutely brutal. I can't remember who likened it to McCall's time and even suggested it was better. The football isn't a patch on 2017-18, 2018-19 or the start of 2019-20. It's utterly turgid, one dimensional pish. It's Hoppyball with an excellent striker. That's what it is. I'm fed up of it.

  34. For the millionth time. TEAMS DONT PLAY EVERY GAME THE SAME WAY THEY PLAY AGAINST CELTIC. I wont bother with the rest of the meandering, self congratulating, shite.

  35. This is the same podcast that took everything that George Fraser said as gospel and that B teams were 1 season only when everyone else knew that of course would never be the case. The Lowland League clubs may vote for it as too many with nothing to lose & easily bribed but I am hopeful Highland League wont vote for it due to distance they will have to travel and they don't want to play Rangers / Celtic / Hearts colts and rather play teams in the Highlands.

  38. Celtic vs Rangers in the final might be great for the media and knuckle draggers that support them. Me as a neutral wouldn’t even bother to watch it. However if you had Ayr vs Raith in the final I would probably sit down to watch it as that’s far more of an occasion for me watching two teams who don’t get to Hampden often than two teams who have their own ends at our national stadium. A good journalist would do a story on the magic of the cup. 8 teams in the quarter finals and 3 of them are in the Championship and one of them is in League 1. That can’t happen very often but instead we get the absolutely abysmal pish of pandering to the old firm and their fans. Old firm games aren’t a “spectacle”, grown men fighting in the street outside the national stadium, sectarian singing which has gone on for decades. If anything we should be embarrassed by them not celebrating and encouraging it.

  40. Ayr v Raith Rovers is the final we need. Two clubs who’ve never won the Scottish Cup in an evenly matched final. Imagine the buzz in both towns for the month before.. Still, Celtic v rangers for the 96th time in 2 years you say Hugh aye.. ? Hud me back.
