  1. The sort of statement that assumes anyone outside the bigotsphere gives a f**k about all the tiresome tit for tat pish - a common mistake many OF supporters make. Normal folk just saw a nice send off for Ron Gordon being sullied by low-life c***s.

  2. I did find it sad and disrespectful to say the least. There seemed to be a campaign from a few social media accounts yesterday to pre-emptively justify any disruption by highlighting videos of some Hibs fans mocking The Queen's death and singing about Goram, Walter Smith and Jimmy Bell recently. Firstly, The Queen instance is a false-equivalence despite what many may think. Secondly, if those that attended last night and disrupted the memorial were enraged by the songs about the deaths of Goram, Smith and Bell then they've lost any moral high ground and have rendered themselves a hypocrite by acting in a way they deemed abhorrent when the circumstances were reversed.

  4. Gate money split and a salary cap introduced. Of course, Rangers fans would oppose that - and fair enough - but surely the World's Biggest Socialists™ in the East End would be up for it?

  6. I actually think compared to almost any other football discussion you can find online that P&B is possibly the most sane and balanced discussion you could hope for. If you ignore the odd roaster of which each team has a few, most of the debate is pretty good natured and relatively informed. I think that's largely fed by a fan culture in Scotland that (outside of the bigot brothers) is much more rational and positive than most countries.

  7. f**k it, we’ve been shite against the Pars bar one half of football and we got what we deserved. Our position in the league is about right. The refs/officials are shite in this league but it is what it is.

  9. But nil by mouth said it Im sure that nil by mouth, in their role as trying to eradicate sectarianism in the west of Scotland, wouldn’t dream of applying their zero tolerance approach to absolutely every word that could be perceived offensive, particularly to create an image of being even handed. Because they know that it certainly wouldn’t be the case that their efforts would be rendered useless if they stated **** was not sectarian, even if it was true, because the overgrown children would perceive it be them ‘taking a side’. That definitely wouldn’t happen. I watched this game and the **** behaviour during the memorial was an utter disgrace. No excuse for it whatsoever. I will never understand how the ‘decent’ rangers fans don’t cringe themselves into a ball of shame at the overall image of their club.

  13. Hoose, Give your local police office a call, let them know that you’re aware that there is a warrant for you and that you intend to surrender yourself, you can arrange a time with them to hand yourself in. Also let your solicitor know so they can attend the office as well. Make sure that the police are aware that you are on medication and want to bring it with you, they may say no to that but request that they call the on call doctor who can dispense medication to you at the station. Try and arrange a time as late as possible to cut down your time in the station but don’t leave it too late as you may miss the court cutoff time for appearing the next day. I was a Police officer until I retired a few years ago but practice may have changed in the time that I have been retired.

  15. With what you are saying the Ayr game is possibly bigger than Tuesday night. We still have an Avenue open to us to rectify Tuesdays defeat, beating Ayr would be massive. The crowd have to do their bit and be as noisy as possible. The young team are vocal but there are only a few of us in the Grangemouth end of the South who sing. We need the whole Main and South to be singing on Monday. No point having crowds of 4 thousand plus if the place is like a library.

  17. Ill will and 'banter' I guess is part and parcel of a football forum. There are a few though who rarely offer any useful insight or humour, but feed off a level of hatefulness that eclipses support for their own club, and exposes a very unhappy mind (you know who you are). It's a shame really as P&B is unrivalled for information and discussion, but it can be a very tedious and depressing place to be.

  20. Regardless of the size of support I would refuse entry to anyone bringing in a drum. If anyone feels the need to drum get yourself away from football. By all means clap, shout, sing, even yodel, but forget the drum. Absolutely detest and hope anyone from the club reading P&B instructs security to stop anyone trying to enter.

  21. Lochinch was the province of Police Scotland, formerly Strathclyde Police, who used Lochinch as their sports complex. Like the rest of Pollok Estate, they would be tenants. The site was under-utilised and costly to run. QP have taken an extended lease on the property. No police were harmed in this incident. I don’t know who the “members” you refer to are but it was nothing to do with the cricket club. Or the golf club. Or the rugby club. Or any dog-walking rights. Or the highland cattle. Or any horses. And for the avoidance of any doubt, we haven’t stolen the Burrell Collection either.

  24. As support for the quad theory, there's a Go Outdoors near us which backs onto a railway track. A couple of local ne"erdowells hatched a brilliant plan to burgle it and escape along the railway track on their quad bikes. The budding Lex Luthors managed to get a load of stuff out of the shop and their brilliant plan only came unstuck when they were killed by an intercity 125.

  26. I think you'd have to be pretty lacking in perspective to be dissatisfied with where we are as a club as a result of Martindale's commitment and skill as a manager. I think any criticism is more down to disappointment with "what could have been" than what is. If we all take a step back, I don't think many rational Livi fans could say that Martindale hasn't done a good job.

  28. A couple of folk mentioned the 2015/16 season earlier so I thought I’d have a wee look and compare the squads, leagues and results. Tuesday was league game number 27. Our 27th league game of 2015/16 was a 5-0 win against Stenhousemuir on 5th March 2016. We had an 8 point lead going into the game, but Peterhead’s 1-1 draw with Albion Rovers stretched our lead to 10 points. The win over Stenny put our points total to 62, which is exactly what we have now. Our goal difference that day was up to +52, a fair hike compared to our current difference of +30. Despite that gap, we’d actually conceded more (19) by that point than we have this season (16). We’d also kept far fewer clean sheets back then (11) whereas we’ve kept an impressive 16 clean sheets so far this season. The 2015/16 team was known for its goalscoring prowess, by match day 27 we had scored 71 goals. We’ve so far managed <65% of that tally, with 46. Hardly breaking news, but we’re obviously less prolific yet far more astute defensively than we were 7 years ago. This team is certainly more aggressive with a real hard-to-break-down style of play, whereas the 2015/16 squad was more free-flowing. Who would come out on top in a head-to-head in their prime? I’m saying the current squad as McPake is willing snd able to change the game in a way Johnston never was. There’s definitely a few intriguing match-ups though; Cardle vs Comrie/MacDonald; Paton vs Edwards; Faiss and Moffat vs Bene and Breen; Geggan and Falky vs Chalmers, Todd/Hamilton.

  32. The argument being in the recent games against us you’ve basically done f**k all, thereby meaning it’s unlikely you’re going to get any awards? 2 shots compared to our 10 the other night means you’re 500% less likely to get the sort of award we got. Well done for pumping Peterhead though. Everyone is really pleased for you.

  34. 40/42: Celtic 3-1 Hearts, Premiership, 8/3/23. Fun going ahead early, but an under strength Hearts were never likely to see it out. Premiership done for the season, and I’ve now seen every SPFL team play this campaign. Hearts’ opener was the 200th goal I’ve seen this season. Only stenny and Dunfermline to go.

  35. Rangers outstanding tonight, probably even better than Celtic were at Easter Road in December. Hibs were abysmal, genuinely don’t want to see Henderson again. Cadden is not a full back, please stop playing him there against Hearts & the OF. Very touching tribute to RG before the game. Great to see the subhuman freaks in the away end drowned out in their attempts to hijack it. I cannot grasp how warped and twisted you have to be to support that football club, though. A collection of the most obscure and detestable individuals imaginable, they just absolutely thrive on being as outrageously vile as possible. It really is a sad life.

  36. Yeah he’s really stepped up a level this season. I’ve always been a big fan and stuck up for him but I’m not convinced there’s a better striker at this level. I thought the 4-0 Montrose game where Jamieson scored a hat-trick was good evidence of it. Gallagher dropped very deep and spent all game linking play and just generally being very creative, there’s no chance he could have done that two seasons ago. I don’t know whether it’s him improving with age, McCabe’s coaching or a combination but it deserves a lot of credit. He’s the one player I think we’d miss hugely if he was out injured for a while. It sounds daft but people really underestimate the value of a reliable goalscorer.

  37. Not been on for a while given the results!!! Wee word for CGal. I’ve been massively frustrated by him at times in the past. IIRC he had decent chances v Cove and QP last season which he couldn’t take and he was constantly offside. Paired with a running style which is all arms and legs but little pace!!! BUT I’ve really enjoyed watching him this season. Now able to hold it up really well, playing offside much better and some sublime finishes over the past 2 games which were wasted as consolations I’d get him on penalties and sign him on a 2 year deal if he’ll have it. Seems a good lad too in interviews.

  38. Second bottom in the Premiership should play 4th in the Championship. The playoffs are too heavily weighted on survival of the top tier team.

  39. I'm not dreading the playoffs. I think we will go up. We absolutely were second best in the second half. They were markedly better than us. That said, its not clutching at straws to retrospectively shown that a goal was in fact, not a goal, and be a bit peeved about it. some of the things lobbed at us in the immediate aftermath was "cant defend set pieces", "same thing again as TFS" etc etc. Except that actually, that was pretty decent last gasp defending. And, also mentioned lastnight... Goals change games. That is as correct now as it was then, and that goal shouldn't have stood. So its absolutely fair to moan about it whilst recognising we were not the better team. Its not a bottle job by any means for me. We lost to the better team, but the circumstances turn ou tto be iffy

  41. So a 10 team league where more than half of them are colts teams who can't move up or down is their best and brightest idea? Hell, I'll go one better. What about a league that is entirely made up of colts teams! Then you won't even have to worry about the issue of promotion and relegation for them! I quite like this idea, just got to think of a name for it... maybe a Reserve League?
