  1. Can you give us an example of the weekly schedule in the exciting life of parsforlife? What a judgemental c**t.

  2. He announced he was standing down 4 weeks ago. The decision will have been made and the rest of the board notified a fair bit before that. It's not as if he's said all the right things in the morning and then been announced at another club in the afternoon. He offered to stay on til a new person came in, but it's taken that long that he's been offered another job and decided to take it. Essentially he's an out of work guy who's been offered a good job and has taken it. I'm not sure what some people would be expecting him to do....pass up great job offers and stay unemployed just so that it makes them feel better? If the board and the club as a whole haven't gotten their finger out to do anything about it then thats squarely at their door. Unless they assumed his future plans involved signing on and sitting in his pants eating rice krispies and watching Loose Women. Thats not to say I'm not fucking gutted seeing him rocking up at Aberdeen, but whether people like/agree or not, he's probably the most sought-after guy in his field in the country and I'd be very surprised if both halves of the OF weren't in touch with him as well. Just can't wrap my head around what some people would be expecting from him. Or that a lot of the same people getting bent out of shape about it are the same people that have called him a glorified tea boy. Does the standard of tea at Pitoddrie really bother them that much? Or have they really just been jealous weirdos this whole time

  3. 100% this. It's fairly well known than Alan was looking to stand down at Motherwell a good while before he actually announced his departure. If there's been f**k all done in terms of succession planning (because they knew it was coming eventually) then that's completely at the door of the Board who remain. Am I naïve enough to think that at some point over the last few years, Dave Cormack hasn't said to Flow at some point, "Oh, I'd love for you to work at Aberdeen some day". Of course not, but do I think there's been some mental plan in place for months for Alan to jump ship just as we're heading into a relegation battle to screw Motherwell over? Don't be silly. The usual crowd on Facebook/Twitter/SO will howl at the moon simply because they've got the brain the size of a milkybar button and that's all they know. In terms of the current situation, I firmly believe he should be on gardening leave as of today. However, if he's being asked to stay on by the Chairman, he's stuck really, isn't he? Being the type of guy he is, he's going to do everything he can to help Motherwell, even if it's probably not the right thing to do.

  8. Man Utd 2-2 Leeds - 08/02/23 Funnily enough my last random game attended post in here was the same fixture last season. This was a great game for the neutral. Leeds were 2-0 up before Man Utd rescued a draw which was probably a fair result in the end although either side could've won it with Aaronson of Leeds hitting the post with a free kick in between Man Utds 2 goals and Meslier making 2 stunning saves, 1 in each half from Sabitzer and Varane respectively. I didn't see this clearly until I watched the highlights but Meslier should've done better for the equaliser, with Sanchos shot going right through him. I actually forgot Sancho played for Man Utd until they were reading out the teamsheet, was out the picture the last few months for personal and fitness reasons apparently. Not really any major VAR interventions, think they only checked Leeds first goal for an offside but I can't believe they never looked at a clear kick out on Bamford by Lisandro Martinez in the first half. Martinez was brilliant other than that and I thought Weston McKennie looked a good addition to Leeds midfield. Garnacho was fucking honking and Luke Ayling had him in his pocket. Fred's actually a player I rate more than others seem to but he was another who had a stinker. I've saw Leeds live 3 times now and their fans are up there with the noisiest I've heard and by f**k can they celebrate a goal. The scenes at their 2 goals and the one when I was at the same fixture last season were superb.

  13. Absolute drivel. A) Morton are exactly the type of team we have struggled against B) Especially away from home C) They have strengthened in January D) They are winless in 8. So, yes a win against top of the league, that puts them back in the play-offs - seems an open and shut 'back on track' to me.

  16. This is currently the in-house discussion: Whether or not to 'change' the name to Bob. Easier to say (firmer), and, well... I think he suits Bob better. If we're going to do it, then straight away is obviously best. I can immediately see why lurchers are synonymous with sofas though. This is him after a decent night's sleep and before the planned morning walk: and then, as soon as he senses a P&B post:

  20. Hamilton Academical 2-1 Queen of the South (AET) @ New Douglas Park . SPFL Trust Trophy SF. A brave effort from the Doonhamers who started well before gifting an opener (21) but levelled (72). They tired though and Accies deservedly go through (96). Crowd 1049 (469 away).

  23. Sport day yesterday and my son won 2 golds. 1st for his school winning the district fitba competition 7 a side. Him being only primary 4 player was the youngest player of all teams. He scores the opener in the final (off his arse) to bag 100 baht also. The wee man has talent, like his old man. Second was for mix teamed netball. Little Skye on her first ever sport day Kindergarten class 1, came 4th in her 50m dash. That was against class 2 & 3 (as it says the numbers are years). I ticked/dobbed (for a few hrs) work to watch Roy win the cup. He never saw/knew I was there during any of the games, I was well out of sight. At the final whistle I was running on the field like Wembley 1977.

  25. The final surely won’t be Airdrie with it just being along the road from Hamilton? Livingston and Falkirk seem the most likely to me. Falkirk ideally, as Livi would almost be as bad a venue for a day out as Airdrie is. I was planning on heading along to the semi before realising the the rules had changed and it could go to extra time, and the last train back was half ten, although after half an hour I was delighted I hadn’t bothered. Fair play to everyone involved though. To Ian Murray for making the change that seemed pretty obvious, as early as he did. To the players for digging so deep and the fans for creating what sounded like a brilliant atmosphere to be in. Special praise to Robbie Thompson too, a goalkeeper that was absolutely hopeless according to some earlier in the game. His psyching out routine to every player was brilliant “ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR, FIVE, SIX. OH, THATS TOO LONG A RUN UP!” Outstanding. Goodness knows how much they’ve got left on the tank for this Motherwell game, not much you’d imagine, but I genuinely can’t wait for Saturday.

  28. The B teams situation is a farce, they need to go at the end of the season. We need to promote more from Tier 6, how else can a pyramid system work without proper structured promotion and relegation from below and above.

  31. That fookin sensational. My laddie went on and on about wanting to go tonight and if he hadn't twisted my arm I probably would have just watched it in the house. So glad we went. Some atmosphere in our end and the scenes at the end were tremendous, just folk bombing down the stairs to celebrate. Absolute limbs at the equaliser. My voice is gone.

  32. Failure to disclose the loan for so long looks pretty incompetent and careless about rules, which is a bad look for a governing party. The explanation given does look a bit shaky and worth digging into. There might well be nothing more to it but there could be all sorts of sinister explanations. There's enough red flags in their for a proper investigation. Amazing how some people lose all critical faculties when their side's on the defensive. The fact that the Tories and the leave campaign rip the utter piss doesn't excuse anything that doesn't match their decadent troughing.

  37. Ach, it is what it is. Taking it at face value, Alan resigns with the intention of staying on till a replacement is in, gets an offer/a few offers and accepts one, so original plans change. Not sure anyone is being full on snakes here. He could have course not entertained any offers at all. But as someone said it's not like he's on Lawwell levels of salary with a young family sitting. It's not ideal, but I get why the exit has been sped up. It would be entirely odd to have the CEO of our club in place knowing he's going to a direct competitor within a month or two or three. Both clubs potentially looking for a manager at the same time being the main bone of contention and conflict if interest I'd imagine. On the flip side, if there is anyone who would act properly and faithfully to us it's probably Alan.

  40. I actually enjoy it as a competition (B teams aside). With the exception of the final if you lose you shrug your shoulders and say “it’s only the Diddy Cup”. If you make the final it’s a day out and the chance to win a bit of silverware most clubs at our level rarely manage in the other cups. You’ve also got the possibility of a wee away day to Ireland, Wales or England. Get the B Teams to f**k and it’s not a bad distraction.

  41. Where do you even begin to analyse a game like that? I guess to start with - well done Raith. After we got our second, it looked like we could have been out of sight by half time. But your players dug in, didn’t put their heads down and kept themselves in it. A third for us would have pretty much killed things stone dead. For us, it hinged on two things: the subs, and Ashcroft going off. If Ashcroft stays on, I reckon we see out a fairly comfortable 2-0. Not that that’s an excuse; rather, it highlights a glaring problem. That we’re too reliant on one player to even consider keeping a clean sheet. As soon as Raith got their first, there was something of an inevitability about proceedings - except it took penalties to ultimately play out, when I fully expected a 93rd minute winner. A few players had terrible games. Cammy was at fault for both goals and the less said about McCowan the better. It was as if we went into a time loop when he spurned the exact same chance twice in a minute. It was as if we went into a time loop when he spurned the exact same chance twice in a minute. As others said, it was very predictable that Robinson was going to miss his penalty. Leaving him till last was an odd choice, I think. By the time you reach a 5th taker, it’s going to be vital one way or another so piling that much pressure on someone who’s not fully match fit and been put on such a high pedestal…there was only going to be one outcome. Anyway…all the best to Raith in the final. And it there’s any consolation for us, it’s that we don’t need to play a 6th game this season against the Hamilton hammer-throwers #NotReallyASilverLining.
