  4. John McGlynn is the best thing to happen to our club in years. That triple change swung the game in our favour.

  5. By the way, last few years that would have petered out to a 1-0 loss, not a problem. We didn’t look like scoring for 80 mins, but we’ve dug a 2-1 win out of nowhere. That’s character a Falkirk team haven’t had in years.

  6. Murray has had a lot of flack over the course of the season for his use of subs and just generally getting a lot of unfair (imo) criticism. Today he made the correct subs at the correct time which changed the game in our favour and deserves credit for doing so.

  7. Really sorry lads. When we embarked on our process of becoming Motherwell 2018 we really didn't mean for you to become St Mirren 2018. I appreciate it doesn't help much, but it wasn't intentional. Sorry.

  20. Thought Oakley was excellent last night, both in defence and attack. He's obviously a class act. Although overall Queen's were the better team, Ayr still had their chances and the result could have turned out differently. A much needed morale booster after the off the field antics.

  23. Arsenal Women 1-1 Chelsea Women Emirates Stadium, Sunday 15/1 My second random match of the weekend was at the Emirates, where Arsenal Women were hosting Chelsea Women. I've never been to the Emirates before and still had some time spare before my flight back to Dundee, so I decided to go to this one. I paid only £ 12 for a seat with an excellent view in the middle of the pitch. It was very busy, attendance nearly 47K, which is amazing to see for a domestic women's game. And this wasn't even a record as Arsenal got (slightly) more on 2 occasions. The stadium itself is definitely impressive but being the romantic sod I am, I still prefer Highbury. The game was again an entertaining 1-1 draw. Early in the second half Arsenal took the lead through a Kim Little penalty. They were the better side, but just like the game 2 days earlier, if you don't finish your chanced the opposition eventually will... It was Sam Kerr who equalised for Chelsea. Definitely an entertaining afternoon and I'm glad I took the detour via the Emirates to go back to London City airport for my flight to Dundee.

  25. The feel good factor is returning to the club, the last few seasons we would have lost a game at 1-0 down.I was not sure about the McGlynn appointment but i am glad to say i have been proven wrong. Kiddy stop being a knob.

  26. 100% disagree. It costs us almost nothing to be the bigger Club in this kind of a situation. In the long run, you get more flies with honey than vinegar, and being known as a Club that welcomes opponents broadcasters can only play well and help us cover away matches better ourselves. You can bet that the Linlithgow coverage got notice for us being able to rock up on short notice and produce a credible broadcast that shared revenue with the home team. Was it very much, I doubt it, but it’s the principle and the appearance.

  29. Suppose where I am with this team is that I'm used to St. Mirren squads being nothing other than a naive, soft touch. Yes we'd do just enough to get by through the years and we had the odd streetwise player but as a squad characteristic, we've never seemed to have a proper b*****d streak to us. We always appear to be as soft as shite at our very heart. Hearing Stevie Hammell last week with almost a begrudging air of respect, talking about how much he dislikes playing against us as he knows what we're like was like music to my ears. For years we've always wanted a team who can get the ball on the deck and play some lovely flowing attractive football but of you're being realistic at our level, that will only ever get you so far with a comparatively smaller budget to the bigger teams. I've discovered that there's a lot to be said for having a team who is properly in your face with a siege mentality and having that recognised by opponents before they've even come up against us is honestly a fucking great feeling and something that's totally alien to me. We've also heard other fans say 'wouldn't want to watch that over a season' but in all honesty, grinding out results is a whole lot better than watching us getting beat week in week out.

  32. Agree 100%, clubs at our level need to help each other. Arbroath have thought they would make a few quid but £8 for an audio pass while our own media is locked out isn't going to fly. I posted elsewhere my old man and mates didn't go on principle and sat in the golf club listening to open all mics. There's £110 they lost out on plus general goodwill. No one favours audio to actually going and the Raith TV output just keeps folk who can't attend or can't afford to ticking over. Probably cost them money when they weigh up subscriptions V non attendees. Poor show Arbroath, not making room for them to film, no comms and according to Raith TV chatboard no space for usual media team. 3 points though so get it roond ye.

  35. A clueless, rudderless team atm. Cannot see a way in which Hammell survives, which, let's be honest, nobody wants, but there comes a point where realism has to come in to play here.

  37. When fans think their team is pish, it’s usually because your opponent makes you look pish. This was more than just 3 points last night. For the guys to lift themselves like that after what the club did to them gives me great hope that we can actually go on and win this league. I found out last night that the players actually were told about the “error” before they left Inverness. Some journey home that must have been. Once again, no failures. The two at the back are just having their best lives at the moment and everyone else gathers energy from that. Boateng is a dream. Excellent introductions from both Shields and Oakley. In every position though we were better than our opponent, more determined. Our fixtures until the end of March are mostly at home and against the lower half of the league. We’ve decent cover in every position. We’ve come through a really tough January and despite everything the board has thrown at us, the team are still flying and the fans still solid. We’ll take some shifting.

  38. I also wonder how it would have panned out if Steven McGinn hadnt scored that screamer against the Welsh team in the Challenge Cup? We were 1-0 down and getting outplayed by a part time outfit until that goal went in, and from that moment forward the team seemed to gain a confidence and a connection with the fans that lasted the rest of the season. We went and beat Ayr at Somerset next game and didn’t lose many after that. Just thinking back there was some terrific displays that season. The Stelios game at home to Hibs, the John Hughes 5-0 game against Raith, 4-1 away to Morton on a Friday night and probably more I’ve forgotten about. We should never have been in the position we were in, but the train home from Edinburgh after the last game was brilliant. Celebrating in relief more than achievement, but still a great memory I have from that season.

  42. Bonnyrigg Rose 1-2 Annan Athletic. All the goals in the first half in this one with Annan opening the scoring with what looked a soft penalty. Bonnyrigg equalised a couple of minutes later. Annan’s second was a result of some nice football from Chris Johnston, who looks like he could be playing at higher level, and a good finish by Goss. Second half became a bit scrappy as rain came on. Bonnyrigg have covered the seated area since I was here last and seem to be making gradual improvements which is great.
