Not going to lie, I'm still looking at our 33 points and my first instinct is that we need another six to make sure for definite that we don't finish in the bottom two. It's impossible not to be like that. It's conditioned in at this point.13 points

It mightve been @Swello, so I apologise if I'm wrong, but the explanation that football is very simple; pass it to someone in the same shirt as you. If someone beside you is wearing a different shirt, try and move away from them. Just do that ffs and score some fucking goals. So fucking bored of this team and the fucking meek acceptance of loss and defeat. Someone leather someone, someone hit the target and have c***s follow it up, have a bit of fucking dig or pride in your own performance. Stick with McKinstry, Deano and Max, Motherwell boys that give a f**k, drop the guys that have been underperforming for months and have a bit of fucking bravery and try and win a fucking game. Long past the point of being arsed about winning or losing, but an ounce of enjoyment out of a Saturday wouldn't go amiss.13 points

McGinty is an absolute unit but when Ayr played against him, and during spells last season, it's s though he shrunk. That Bullen and the coaches have managed to get him to puff his chest out and be the imposing figure he is is perhaps down to good man management as much as getting him to defend. He's obviously had something about him to have come from the level he did, as much as the fantasy bookers of p+b would try and convince you otherwise. Let's not also forget his time spent in Scotland pre-Bullen was in a dreadful Gary Caldwell Thistle team, a dreadful David Hopkin Morton team, and a dreadful David Hopkin and Jim Duffy Ayr team. Is he Maldini? Clearly not, but he's a huge part of this team who are having a great season so far.11 points

Get it right round every last Ayr United fan on this website, a truly horrible football club. I hope you're all absolutely gutted, and the rest of your weekend is just as terrible as this result was for you.6 points

Sorry Slippery. This is part of the reason why I dropped out cos I can't get my head round time zones. Still, one thing I can do is guess the position of Greek letters in the alphabet. 10/106 points

When you get to the point of people unfurling banners demanding you have to go, then it is time to go. It's just a job, and certainly isn't worth the hate he's getting. But that being said, I've always felt bemused by the amount of hate Tony Asghar has gotten from the online Arab community. You would be forgiven for thinking some people hate him more than they love the club, and there's one guy on the Tek forum in particular who has a seriously unhealthy dislike for him. All because he didn't think he was very welcoming at hospitality. I want to preface this by saying that I'm not a 'happy clapper' or a 'lanyard wearer', I've never met Asghar (I walked past him in Sainsburys once, if that cements my pro-TA agenda ) and I'm not happy with the recruitment this season at all, but having said that, I think that on the whole, things have been ok up until the disaster of this season in terms of league position, getting into Europe, signing players that show ambition, trying to get a good ethos into the club, a more serious commercial agenda etc. The one thing that has been poor all the way through the Ogren/Asghar reign has been quality of entertainment from the product on the pitch. It's been brutal. But you read things like how he's responsible for 5 managers in 4 years leaving because he wants to control them. This isn't true. Neilson happily worked for the guy and then left for a better paid job at his favourite club. We'd all do the same. Mellon was a panic hire because they needed a manager in quickly and he was punted because he played awful football and wasn't well liked (I often spoke to people at the club who didn't like him). Why Courts left was a bit of a mystery, but Ross was sacked because of a calamitous run. Did any of them leave because of him? Probably not. The next thing you read - in a similar but different point - is that he only appoints inexperienced managers because he wants to control them. Of his four hires, two were experienced and two are/were inexperienced. Jack Ross in particular fits the description of the sort of manager people who actively hate Asghar want in the job and he was a disaster. There's no science to this folks. They say he makes the signings and the manager has no choice on it. Categorically untrue. I don't think as DoF he really sees the bigger picture of what's needed, but he definitely defers to the manager when signings are made. They say he's responsible for not making any noteable signings in January. I'd say that was Ogren, who unlike received wisdom would suggest, isn't some distant prince who has been trapped by evil Tony and doesn't get a say. He's an experienced businessman ffs. They want Craig Levein even though Levein was a massive failure as DoF at Hearts. But they trust him. He's a football man who is qualified to be a DoF when an agent who never played the game isn't. For me it simply boils down to some people simply not liking the cut of his jib. They don't like him and they don't trust him and that's fair enough, but just say it; don't use arguments that aren't true to justify it.6 points

McGinty's distribution is largely poor, that is neither a hot take nor is it a harsh criticism. It's a fact. He's not in the team for his distribution though. He's there to defend and he's been doing a great job of that this season.6 points

I don't think I've ever seen anyone clutch at more straws than he has this week since the last time the barman at my local spilled an entire newly opened box of straws all over the place. The complainant in this context is the Compliance Officer.5 points

Not only his coaching but his man management in keeping all the fringe players heavily involved and feeling part of everything that's happening. I also think he needs commended on his handling of our young players and the fact that so many of them have already had game time. As guys like Mullin and Chalmers have said, it's a great club and dressing room to be involved in and that is obviously paying great dividends for us on the pitch.5 points

It is worth mentioning the context and that this isn't the club having a jab at Aberdeen FC or their fans, but the BBC. When the national broadcaster feels it's fine to have presenters and analysts being dismissive of your club, players and referring to them as 'Aberdeen rejects', I think it's entirely fine for the club to address that. The way the club has done so via social media is quite clever. This has a bigger impact than writing a whiny 'club statement' on your website and also makes those pundits and comments look silly.5 points

This thread is oddly reminsicent of the Hibs v Aberdeen one a week ago. Thoughts and prayers lads - not for the match (which will be brutal) but for the inevitable influx of some walloper posters of "a certain team" crowing about how they are the best thing since sliced bread, natural order and other such bullshit........5 points

Cant believe when talking about JML that someone takes the opportunity to slag off McGinty who is currently playing his best football for us5 points

The FFP has been dire for Rovers coverage since Matt Elder left. The Courier is heading down a similar road as well. The guy who replaced Alan Temple is useless. There's been a couple of instances recently where there's not even been an article about us on the day of a match.5 points

In truth... Queens have pretty much bossed this game and considering the SFA in their infinite wisdom thought it would be a good idea to tell a team who were about to play an ultra important league game at 7-45pm....... that they had just been expelled from the Scottish Cup at 4pm........4 points
