  1. Another observation I’ve just had: we are three points behind our total tally that we finished last season with.

  3. Don't they know what it means to play for a team like Sportsound?? Ah tell ye, Sportsound should be one of the leading Scottish football programs and look at the state of them. They should get Richard Gordon in to shout at them about the responsibility they have taken on at this historic institution which used to be good in the 80s! Their performances this season have been chaotic - and yes, embarrassing! No organisation or formation under MacIntyre, no basic competence to play their positions and do their jobs (i.e., describe the action and tell listeners who has scored); it's like they don't know what they are doing when they are supposed to be pros. As for the lazy foreigners like Pat Bonner who can't even be bothered to learn the names of non-Celtic players... I'd clear the lot of them out, from the producers down to all the reporters (especially Biscuits, and except for Kris Doolan).

  4. Immediately take him, tbh. I appreciate the issues with the defence and midfield, but given that we're losing every game by a goal and drawing the rest, maybe we just fuckin score some goals. "Fraz Fletcher" is as connected as a dial up modem tbf so I wouldn't think too hard about it.

  11. Imagine though, if you're an Aberdeen fan, and you see the thread on the game you lost 6-0 has grown by about 5 pages overnight. Click on it with a feeling of trepidation wondering who has had the meltdown and how big the slagging is, only to be washed over by a sense of relief as you realise it's some Hearts fan having a heads gone because someone called him a bit of a VL.

  12. Murray might go at the end of the season. If we offer him a one year extension and someone else offers him two years, he’ll be offski. He’s bargaining with a strong hand. Queen’s Park has been good for Simon Murray and Simon Murray has been good for Queen’s Park. I’m in the “give him what he wants, as long as he’s not taking the piss” camp. It’s not just goals and being a general pest up front, it’s his presence and influence around the club. Would love to see him still here when we get back to the Southside, although I’m aware that it’d be unusual for a player to play into their early 60s.

  13. Ricky Foster was on BBC Scotland this morning. Spoke fairly well about the situation. Said we need an experienced manager this time around. Asked who he thinks should get it... Paul Lambert, Neil Lennon or Jack Ross.

  14. TSV 1860 Munich V Dynamo Dresden 1-2. 15000 sell out. (felt like more and the stadium holds a lot more than 15k! My travels continue with a trip down to Munich to see two pretty big clubs languishing in 3.Liga. I felt pretty lucky to get a ticket for this one after cheekily asking if any spares were going on a Facebook group and an 1860 Season ticket holder answered my prayers. Another cracking atmosphere from both sets of supporters with a game to do it justice. 1860 came out of the traps quickly and scored after 5 minutes after awful defending when the midfield and defence just opened up to let Albion Vrenzl jog through the middle to fire the Löwen into the lead. They really should have been out of sight because Dynamo Dresden were awful in the first half of the first half. But a tactical change sees to settle them down and they began to take control and create the better chances. It wasn't until the 56th minute until they equalised when Stefan Kutschte looked offside to me but no flag came and he slotted past the goalkeeper for 1-1. Dresden looked confident now and deservedly took the lead on 75 minutes when Dennis Borkwoskl had the penalty area to himself to put the visitors ahead. 1860 worked hard to get back into the game and missed several guilt edges chances. But Dresden deserved the 3 points. Ticket 31 Euros Programmes 1.50 Euros. Fanzine 60 cents

  15. We conceded 1 goal at the weekend. 1 goal against County, 1 goal against Livingston. And we only took 2 points. As much as the back line is making ridiculous errors the number of goals we actually concede would be fine if we could actually put the ball in the net ourselves.

  27. Having a natural attacking full back in behind Morrison has helped him hugely imo. He now generally only has 1 player in front of him to beat rather than 2 as Rowe is usually taking a runner away with him. It was even worse last season when we were shite and he was literally our only attacking threat teams would double up on him and he would often have 3 men for company. He also had to play on the left earlier in the season when Kennedy was injured and although he did ok for me he's much more effective on the right.

The doctor has him bend over, and then cries out in disbelief at the sight of a load of cash sticking out of the mans arse. As the doctor begins to remove it the man asks how much there is. "£1800" replies the doctor. "Ah, that makes sense," says the man. "I knew when I woke up this morning I didn't feel too grand."

  31. I think there's been some crossed wires somewhere. Duthie and Duffy definitely didn't fall out at Dumbarton but Duthie was known to do extra training on his own, coming back from a 2 year ban he felt he needed to put in extra - I assume he's doing the same coming back from this issue and someone has put 2 and 2 together to make 5. Duthie's attitude is as good as you get, I'd be amazed if Duffy was freezing him out.

  32. Clearly not kyle’s finest hour but probably time to draw a line under it, never know what’s going on in folks life outside of here. He’s patted himself on the head for this prediction quite a few times now. I’m not sure predicting that a manager and team with glaring flaws may end up failing is quite what he thinks it is.

  34. So the weekend ends with everyone still in the title race but 12 could become as few as 8 in the midweek fixtures. Killie and Ross County will be done if they fail to win against Hibs and Dundee Utd respectively. While wins would not be enough if Celtic pick up maximum points against Livingston. Victories for Dundee Utd and Motherwell would guarantee to keep them in the title hunt, however, failure to win coupled with 3 points for the champions would see their dreams dashed for another season. St Johnstone will lose the opportunity for Callum Davidson to complete a domestic treble if they lose to Motherwell and Celtic beat Livi, so one of St Johnstone or Motherwell are guaranteed to still be on course for the title after their game. Rangers will clinch a top 6 spot if they beat Hearts, this is due to the fact that Aberdeen would need to win every game to over take them and both St Mirren and Hibs would also need to beat Livi to overtake them, those 3 defeats for Livi would leave them unable to overtake Rangers themselves. There are probably multiple more scenarios that would involve Rangers clinching a top 6 spot but this is a complicated one and it's nearly 2am and I'm just using pen and paper. So loads to play for on Tuesday and Wednesday.

  36. Other than the first paragraph, what a pile of crap. Professional refs in the EPL have been shown up time and time again without any ingrained bias/fear. VAR is totally detrimental to the game as a spectator sport, the small increase in correct decisions is totally overshadowed by how intrinsically shite the whole experience is to all but the anally retentive.

  39. I've met a lot of interesting people on my travels. These include French tennis player Alize Cornet in a jungle in Costa Rica, F1 driver Nicholas Latifi's father's butler on a train back from Machu Picchu, and best of all was today, when I met 101's mother's cousin in Wellington, New Zealand. Got out just in time! Similarly, the second I left Peru, they all started rioting (not cos of me leaving - more so that the then president decided he'd like to be a dictator and got chucked in jail for it). South American politics is mental.

  40. Ive only seen Darvel and highlights of Hibs, but it feels like your squad knew Goodwin was fucked and,.mentally, kind of checked out from a winless fight. Not on purpose probably, but just subconsciously knew it was a bad situation and every knock to their confidence just put them further in their shell. No doubt some will talk about "leaders" not being there, but im not sure you can always escape situations like that. Think youve still got a very good squad so a new manager might get a bounce as they escape the feeling of dread. Tl:dr - Rambling bullshit

  44. In Leipzig today to watch the Regionalliga Nordost match between BSG Chemie Leipzig and Babelsberg 03. An absolutely cracking match this with all the ingredients that makes a brilliant day at the football. Rustic old ground Fair ticket prices and a programme Two teams going at it for the win from the getgo Both sets of fans producing a great atmosphere Decent football food and Bier Awful refereeing This game was end to end and very competitive with lots of not so cute fouls. Both teams were so positive and created a fair few chances. Chemie took the lead on 14 minutes when the forward concerted a cross at the near post. Late in the second half. Chemie won a free kick deep in there own half but the ball was kicked away down the park. Where the Chemie striker, a Babelsberg sub and manager came to a 'disagreement' this resulted in all three being booked but the Babelsberg manager didn't shut up and was then sent off. The second half started with the home side taking control and really should have been further ahead. But as is typical the opponent's were never out of it and got an equaliser. This gave them confidence and the match could've gone either way. The referee was fairly erratic through out and lost control as he hadn't been tough with some of the earlier fouling. He booked the Babelsberg number 30 and a Chemie player after they squared up to each other. 5 minutes later he again booked the Babelsberg number 30. But despite chants from the crowd and the 'helpful' Chemie players reminding him if his error he failed to produce a red card. Some how the match finished 1-1. But I'm not sure how, as it was very open with chances on both sides. Ticket 15 Euros for the stand (terrace was cheaper, but no checks) Programme 2 Euros I also managed to see a Leipzig Stadtliga (not sure which level?! Possibly 7/8th) match earlier in the day between TuS Leutzsch and Olympia Leipzig. That finished 1-0 to Leutzsch in front of about 100 and was free entry.
