  2. There has been a lot of effort made by St Mirren fans to the “NorthBank” in the West Stand over the last few weeks. These images don’t show the impact it has had. Outstanding effort by all concerned. Some of the old photos were rescued from the hospitality suite when they were supposedly heading to the local dump. The hall of fame images have been in place for years, but now the fans have added their stamp on the ground and there are further improvements planned. Well done everyone involved!

  3. CONGRATULATIONS JUSTONECORNETTO! He's been playing for as long as I've been running this and probably longer and finally, he gets a win. 766 points from 10 hits is some return. He beat's alta-pete's points record by just 6 points, so it's certainly been a year for the record books. Just don't follow it up with a year like Pete's and you'll be fine - @JustOneCornetto In second place is @Indale Winton, another long-term player who puts in a fantastic performance that I would be absolutely furious to not win with. Better luck next year chief. I'd tag Bishop Briggs but I can't. He was in the lead for months then Pele ruined it all. I have no idea if he's back or not, but it was still a great year from a former winner. As ever, my thanks and apologies to everyone else playing this year. I feel as if I've not made too many mistakes or misses this year, but I await Aim Here correcting me in a few minutes. From my point of view, we're never going to have a year where Pele and The Pope die in the final week of the year, so it's never going to be this busy to close out the game again. If you're playing in 2023 then good luck, if you're gone then hurry back, and if you forgot then... where are your priorities, really?

  4. Week 53 update Forgive me if I'm not as effusive as I should be. 5. This spat very much reminds me of HB v Supras back in the day that made this part of the forum unreadable. As such Pep and Supras sorry Satoshi can have a couple of days off to give us all peace and when they come back they can take their "debate" to PM and let other users enjoy the board. Thankyou

  6. Thanks for all the kind words. All my effort and searching around the web paid off by picking the right combination of some obscure picks along with a high scoring Captain and special mention to Pele who was hit no. 10 for me which secured the league title right at the death. Thanks to everyone making it a great competition and once again thanks to @Miguel Sanchez for doing such a splendid job in running the Deadpool. PS I have no intention of giving up the title easily and have started 2023 with my 1st hit, also my Vice Captain, Frank McGarvey

  7. I hope 2023 is swell for you, and I wish you and your families health and happiness for the coming year and beyond. I don't "celebrate" hogmanay and do not drink. I am currently picking at a takeaway and watching random films on Netflix. Already watched The Departed and Layer Cake. Currently watching Taxi Driver. Have a tip-top time whatever you are doing tonight. Best wishes, Jamie xxxxx

  8. It's quite literally a bottle of flat Lucozade. People, mainly kids, are being scammed into buying this shite by the same two YouTubers who started the equally scammy YouTube boxing garbage and the same crowd who'll shell out to watch two YT personalities pretending they hate each other and have a fight. It's honestly fucking predatory. The fact that parents enable and further validate this garbage by going into supermarkets and jostling and fighting with each other over bottles of b*****d flavoured water or going to other sellers who'll flog a £1.50 bottle for £20 instead of doing the right thing, seeing it for what it is, ignoring it and allowing the venture to crash in failure is thoroughly depressing. Every time something like this happens, I realise more and more that it's truly a race to the bottom. Felt the same during the Black Friday thing a few years back when folk were knocking shades out of one another for a couple of quid off tellys they didn't need and then the panic buying spates of things like toilet roll and pasta that have happened since covid.

  9. It was Steven’s (aka @Jimi Shandrix) funeral yesterday. He chose the predictably wonderful music himself, and I’m sure you’ll all be pleased to know that the Pie and Bovril forum got a mention at the service as being a passion of his and a great source of strength to him. I’m collating all your messages to pass on to his family. Thank you so, so much for all of them. Happy new year to all of you. Alan x

  10. Farewell 2022 tables although it's already hello 2023 for me. In the Pfizer @Salvo Montalbano is the champion for the 13th time but a play-off is require for 2nd place between @Bully Wee Villa and @Insert Amusing Pseudonym At the bottom down go @Ronaldo Jeremy @gkneil and @scottsdad with @Geaky in the play-off. Last of the 2022 Wannabe's are @Helpma winning title no. 12, @Eednud and @peasy23 with @JustOneCornetto in the big time play-off and @pleslie99 in the seaside play-off but down go @Ross. @The Captain and @ArmadaleKillie Welcoming 2023 as new Wannabe's are @German Jag with his 3rd bucket and spade @TxRover and @specsaver with @BigBo10 in the play-off. The last wooden spoon for 2022 and his 2nd goes to @senorsoupe Hope you all have/had a great New Year and look forward to more of this, except @SlipperyP doing the admin in 2023. Happy New Year quizzers.

  15. For me, amongst several highlights, one stands out. Keanu Baccus becoming the first St Mirren player to appear in a World Cup finals. To feature in all their games, to get out the group, and to hold his own against Argentina.

  17. On a personal level, great. I got promoted at work, something I’ve worked for since 2015. Otherwise, I’ve seen two friends have been killed and I’ve seen many friends suffer more than anyone deserves to through war. It breaks my heart that this is happening. 2023 will bring Ukraine’s victory, it’s my only wish. I hope everyone has a good year and their wishes come true.

  44. You're a fairly new poster, this thread isn't really a debate space for why depression is on the rise. While I'm not for a moment saying it isn't a worthwhile discussion, this isn't the thread. It's a safe space for people to post and gain support from other members of the forum. It's free from the usual gentle piss takes and banter from elsewhere on the board.
