  1. As you may remember, last month I had a malignant tumour removed from my leg. It appears to be healing nicely - I have to have the dressings changed twice a week and the nurse is always pleased with the progress. On Tuesday I went for a CT scan to see if the tumour had spread. Today I got the results and they gave me the all-clear. No sign of any malignant cells in chest, abdomen or pelvis.

  2. Some game tonight at Links Park. The Under 18s were playing Montrose in the Scottish Cup and got played off the park in the first half. They were lucky to go in only one-nil down. When Montrose got and converted a penalty early in the second half it looked all over. But the kids fought back, scored two and took it to extra time. With maybe five minutes to go at the end of extra time our keeper made up for conceding the penalty by producing what turned out a matchwinnning save. Then right at the end Falkirk got a freekick within range of their box. It was played in, somebody got a toe on it and we were 3-2 up. That turned out to be the last kick of the game. What a way to start the weekend. It'll be one am before I get home but it was worth it. John McGlynn was here and spoke to the boys in the dressing room afterwards. I listened in and from what he was saying it's obvious he has a good knowledge of the youth players and their strengths. Now, I if can watch the first team beat Kelty tomorrow and the girls do the same to Airdrie on Sunday I'll be a happy man.

  3. The best thing about it is they gave us Carson and their keeper is half as good, if that .

  4. Bold statement from a Celtic fan, imo

  5. Yeah, we got a penalty that we wouldn't otherwise have got, but we've just scored three (four really) times against Celtic and I didn't celebrate a single one of them with my usual gay abandon, because every goal is checked, and every goal has to be approved, and we have to wait for that, and there are still decisions that rankle, and mistakes are still made. So, we've lost all the fun of football in exchange for what? f**k VAR

  6. The little one came on Monday, fair fucks to any female members of PnB who have went through labour, after 26 hours of it she asked for a C section. Despite being a week early he came out at 9lb 2oz, the midwife said it was absolutely the correct decision to have a C section, no danger he was coming out natural! Behold Baby Hamish, the reason why I'm awake at 4 in the morning

  7. That would never be given at Ibrox or Parkhead to disallow a home goal, so all we have with VAR is the same poor refereeing amplified.

  10. Touched on it on the match thread but a major gripe for me at the moment, and it's something that is worse than last season, despite as @Widge saying the fact we've scored more, is that we play absolute idiot football. Percentage football can be a chore but at least it's got a purpose. We play like a team that has no idea what the aim of the game is. Two-yard goal kicks to centre backs, shift to another defender, punt. We inevitably lose the ball and our pressed defensive line is about 15 yards from our own goal. Nothing in midfield until Wotherspoon came on. Wright and McLennan in that first half? Man. Quick look at WhoScored suggests just around a dozen successful contributions between them. Clark (not his fault) attempted 4 (FOUR) passes. Last season we couldn't get results and had a poor group of players. He's got a better group now but he has them playing a moronic brand of football.

  11. The The Frosinone 1-0 The The Bari. I was supposed to be at the Paphos game today but Italian Air traffic control had other ideas. So when in Rome, go to Frosinone. I'm not really a fan of either team, both of which have double Sevcoed, however Frosinone won me over a bit today. A new stadium which is walkable from the city centre and was pretty full as third in Serie B played fourth. The bar next to the stadium was lively well before kick off and did some great barbecue. The game itself was utter tripe and gave me flashbacks to a time we played Stranraer in the League Cup. Bari had a man sent off after twenty minutes following a VAR review after initially being given a yellow for kicking an opponent in the head in a 50/50 challenge. After that it was ten men behind the ball for the rest of the match. Bit of a shame as Frosinone had looked good before the red. I would have put my house on a goalless draw but Frosinone got the winner in injury time to the delight of the masses. Good celebrations at the end including one of the players getting his young son down from the stands and taking him into the dressing room with the team. Both sets of fans were decent, Bari more so but Frosinone get some points for diverging from the usual songbook. Roma vs Napoli is sold out so looks like it will be some Serie D action for me domani.

  13. Last month I had a lump removed from my leg which proved to be a malignant tumour. Leg is healing nicely as is the other thigh where they took a skin graft. On Tuesday I went for a CT scan to make sure the tumour hadn't spread and this morning I was given the all-clear. No sign of any further tumours in chest, abdomen or pelvis.

  18. FT 2-1 Yep well deserved three points in the end, should have won by more and would have if it wasn’t for that joke VAR call. Disallowing goals for soft fouls in the scoring teams half? f**k off. If we are going back that far it won’t be long before a goal is disallowed and a penalty given to the opposing team for some soft infringement that happened in the box a couple of minutes prior. Farce. Thankfully, it was only Dundee United we were playing and we have no problem beating shite like them even whilst being shafted by VAR. Lovely winning goal by the way, delightful cross by Erhahon who was outstanding again and flicked header by Grieve. That’s three goals for Alex this season, two of them against Yinited. Really rocking now, 19 pointe already (six of them against Yinited). Going to take a big collapse not to finish top six from this position. No reason we can’t win at Easter Road next week. Good to be a buddie!

  20. So that’s a massive unnecessary delay to get an obvious decision right and a simply wrong one from VAR. Well done to the fucking nutcases who were desperate for this.

  21. It was spoken about the other day that the many many factions in the Conservative Party actually hate each other more that the opposition. Long may their ripping apart of each other continue. They really are vile. The morally bankrupt disgusting crook Johnson returning would be the finale this dreadful soap opera deserves. I'm not convinced the criminal can actually get to the threshold of 100 votes. Incredibly this is the piece of vermin that was launched for being a lying, swindling, criminal narcissistic sociopath only a few months ago. The Conservative party, beyond parody and how anyone can vote for them is bewildering. They disgust me for what they have done to people all over this country. It should never be forgotten or forgiven. Bevan was right all those years ago.

  22. 21/42: HALFWAY KLAXON - Hibs 1-2 St Johnstone, Premiership, 21/10/22. Clocking up halfway to the 42 with a strange experience of sitting in the Hibs end. Managed to dodge celebrating their goal or standing out for not doing so by just picking up my coffee and taking a drink of that. Happily for me, and the St Johnstone fans, the visitors turned it round after a really poor first-half display. Hibs had a lot of intensity, but I felt they did little with the energy they were putting into the game. May made St Johnstone look a different team when he came on, and the red card also had an impact. But I do feel Hibs had lost control before that. The delays to check the goals for VAR issues were annoying, and this is the world we have now in the top flight. It didn't have a big bearing on the game tonight, but I'm not for it and even just the waiting around after goals is enough for a big no from me. I think I did a good job of putting on my glum face after St Johnstone turned it around so as not to stick out from those around me. It was quite tough though. Another terrible pie experience, as the pie stuck to the foil and the top lifted right off. Had to dig it out with my fingers and eat it in wee bits. Terribly undignified. Still, a good night at the fitba, Well done to Hibs for the pricing, and well done to the St Johnstone fans for the noise they made throughout. I noticed many of them were late getting in, a long-standing Easter Road away end problem, and I wonder when something will be done about it.

  23. Delighted with the win, well needed. Good to turn the game round and both strikers scoring. But f**k me we have been so poor for most of the last 4 matches. In fact most of the season other than that recent mini-run. Saw tonight what happened when we eventually let players try to play football and, you know, outplay the opposition and create goals and stuff. Get the shitfesting to f**k. If we’re not good enough and get beat so be it but let’s stop this shite and actually start attempting to win matches. It’s gone on far too long and for all but an (albeit incredible) 5 month period, it hasn’t worked and we’ve struggled near the foot of the table. Open your eyes Callum ffs.

  24. I possibly owe handsome Jim an apology. I was maybe a little too seething after tannadice. Thats a very solid response from the team so fair play. Winning away is massive and if we could actually do that with a modicum of regularity then we might be alright.

  26. You could feel the nerves in the away end for the last quarter of an hour. It was an odd feeling to be winning away to a team that isn’t called St Johnstone or Livingston. Also probably a bit of a feeling of inevitability given what happened at Dingwall. Some very good individual performances. Ramadani was outstanding - no more slander, please. The back three all did well too. Miovski’s finish was outrageous. We still look a bit vulnerable defensively, especially down the sides, but f**k it - we won away!

  28. Plucky performance by the visitors but did Carson have a save to make at any time in the game? We hit woodwork 3 times, 2 goals chopped off and scored 2. Utd in a relegation dogfight and its still October. Hope they stay up as we collect loads of points off them.

  35. That's interesting isn't it. Two players that are accused of cheating all the time, and their fan base were apoplectic that their favourites were being unfairly maligned, are found out to be cheating in literally the first game of VAR they play in. Absolutely delighted Boyle got caught, his character has been trashed off the field so it's only right that is reflected on the pitch too now.

  36. Air raid just over an hour ago, couple of blasts in Lustk and Rivne in the west so I imagine the danger will last a wee bit longer. Currently sitting in a corridor of an apartment building waiting it out, the nearby shelter was full when I tried to enter.
