  1. Had a few beers in the house when I got back from the game last night so just up , the morning coffee tastes soooo sweet today , still buzzing from it .Just sometimes when watching a mid level club like Ayr United nights like last night come along , so it’s important to enjoy them ,these are the games that fuel the engine of a club . Much more than a tidy three points will have been gained last night . Is everything in the garden rosey and perfect ? Of course not ! However this club is moving forward , it’ll be slow at first but nevertheless the trajectory is forward . For the tut tut brigade try to enjoy the journey . Everybody knows XYZ is needed , we’ve been over it a thousand times .but last night a bunch of lads on under £40k a year rolled their sleeves up and refused to be beaten . That was your team . Take some joy out of it . There will be road bumps along the way , just not last night . Last night will live long in the memory.

  5. Think there's a few folk confusing acceptance and expectation here, and also buying into the perpetual shite occasional visitors to this thread fire in without actually reading it. No one is suggesting a divine right to promotion, no one is refusing to accept where we find ourselves. What people, and it should be all of us, expect is that a club who routinely outspend the rest of the division, largely using the money fans as customers put in, mount a season and a challenge which measures up to that. That is absolutely a Falkirk supporters right to expect, and doing less is demonstrably a failure as per budget vs expectation at literally every single level of football. You can both know why we are where we are, and expect the club to make a better fist of improving the position. The two things aren't mutually exclusive.

  6. I love falkirk. Not only do you turn up in huge numbers and line our pockets. However, you then let us bend you over for an easy three points

  7. I haven’t seen a single Ayr fan on here who isn’t happy. All I’ve seen is the “better fans” absolutely desperate to get it up the fans who had the cheek to moan about the first half performance, instead of just enjoying the comeback. Stop making things up in your head.

  10. Well what a team. We outclassed Falkirk today in all honesty. We were faster, stronger and play much better football. Our finishing has definitely improved and our defence looked rock solid again. If we get another few in to tighten things up then we’ll be a tough team to break down. On the flip side, Falkirk are a puny imitation of a full time football team. To think one of the biggest clubs in the world just got thumped 4-0 off of a tiny little team with 13 fans is mind boggling. PS CHEERS FOR THE SPECKS JOHN MCGLYN

  11. Morrision was fucking stinking. Its his job to attack and score goals. He had a handful of chances to do so and failed every fucking time. His finishing is shameful.

  16. As a fan owned club I feel we should have hustings like that Tory crowd. When the short list is announced, ballot papers go out until we are down to the last two, then there is a Q&A in front of the Davie Cooper stand. Who will play a winger, who knows the key attributes of a left back. Who can juggle soot?

  17. You don’t get better comedy than us getting the ball out the net quick to have more time to go for a winner and then conceding a last minute goal from Stevie May.

  18. Watched Hetherington quite closely today. How he saw out that game is just incredible. An utter, utter, utter disgrace to the jersey. He should have paid in to watch that performance from Adam Frizzell - that's a proper midfielder. We have not had one of those since about 2016. Hetherington truly is King Charlatan in a team packed full of them. If he ever sees another minute in Falkirk jersey, just forget it. McGinn anonymous as well. Grimmest of grim times. For all the caveats about what McGlynn has inherited, there is a valid counter argument, at least to a point, that we have again had the largest playing budget in the division, signed more players than any of the other nine teams, yet there are still glaring holes in the team, we've bugger all up front and we are still turning in an absolutely gutless performance like that. The likes of Frizzell, Smith, Gallagher, Jamieson are playing for a team on on a fraction of our budget but are light years ahead of the nonsense like Alegria that we are lumbered with. No interest in seeing any more of the likes of him or the sainted trio of Aidan, Craig and Callum. All need to somehow got to f**k.

  25. Alegria's been getting some stick on here but in reality he's the only one that forced their keeper into a half decent save, he also created a fair few chances in the first half with his hold up play. Granted him falling over in the first half was a good laugh but other than that I don't think he done much wrong today, our issue yet again is the 3 in behind him. Also starting with Hetherington is essentially playing with a man down.

  27. The resources need to be made available to Mcglynn to replace some of the dross or we’re looking at 2 more seasons in league 1. You are not going to win games with Nesbitt, Mcguffie and Hetherington in the starting 11. To me it’s crazy to be spending limited resources on training grounds and bringing in kids when the first team is so short. Oliver and Algeria look nowhere near good enough either.

  30. All my happiness and enthusiasm from last post aside....which I cannot deny still buzzing from lasts nights comeback.. Couple of talking points.... Owen Coyle what the hell is he on about.... Never a hand ball and penalty.... Regardless of what team you support is the guy having a laugh... There defender kicks the ball off his own arm which deflects it away from ayr players.... Penalty all day and wouldn't complain of was against us... It wasnt a ball to arm unavoidable contact..... He kicked it off his own arm that was flaling about in the air.... People need to understand and keep up to date with rules... Secondly watched game last night BUT watching highlights again..... Bryden just isn't ready.... I think he will be a great striker given time.... but he needs some experience and confidence from playing at a lower level... He lost the ball for 2nd goal and few times when watching the game he seemed a bit lost... Need a experiences head to play next to big Dipo... Finally Dipo... Think Dick Campbell knows the game better than any of us on here, and certainly think he has called it right with the big yin.... He was outstanding last night and causes teams all sorts or problems..... And Jesus how fit is that guy.... He was running full pelt on the 90th minute.... If any of us on here see him out on the town tonight..... Buy the lad a pint...

  31. This .... And this was Ayr United 2018 , 2019 .... So much of Queens last night reminded me of the McCall/Sandy era at Somerset . We in these days regularly got bullied out of games we should have won , Ross County and Inverness being the ones that spring to mind . What I can say to Queens fans you’ll have your days , maybe mainly summer and spring , but you will have days where you absolutely cream teams in this division . You have too many ballers for this not to be the case . On another note I’ve always loved Ocilview , we had about 500 up last night and the place was rocking , when Thistle or Dundee rock up with three times that the roof will come off . Anyway Queens welcome to the Championship, you’ll be fine .

  32. Hammell would give me the fear a bit. Nothing against the guy personally (the opposite, in fact) but I think we're in general too big a club to be giving folk their first crack in management, unless they seem to be a genuinely rare talent. There's pretty tight margins in this league, having a rookie in charge compared to the teams around us, like McInness, Ross and Malky could easily be the difference between 5th and 11th at the end of the season.

  34. Well it’s Saturday morning and I have decided to make a stand and not travel to Fife and encourage the rip off merchants who are our hosts today by holding the fans to ransome for admission price. Money grabbing so and sos. I will take a trip to the seaside on the south bank of The Forth and watch the 2 youngsters the Rose loaned to Whitehill at Dunbar instead. The money I save today will go towards a day out when we visit Stranraer next Saturday. C’mon The Rose

  35. Still absolutely buzzing after that last night. There’s no getting away from how bad that first half was but I’d rather bask in the feeling of the second half and result. McGinty’s post match celebration though….. As a fan, there’s no better feeling than seeing a reaction like that from your player. Captain fantastic, and fair play to him because he’s worked his arse off in 2022, and proven himself worthy to lead the team. Love the big b*****d! So chuffed for Dipo, the goals were coming and I believe he will be a great signing for us. Pleased for Bullen as well. He is a guy you just really want to do well and he needed that last night. Hopefully we can kick on now.

  40. Was working last night so had to make do with a Hesgoal stream. Obviously was very happy with the first half. Scored 2 good goals and although Ayr did threaten a couple of times, we were looking pretty good for it. Then the 2nd half started… I am still in genuine disbelief at just how bad QP were. There were no positives to take. Don’t think we managed to put 3 passes together without Ayr taking it from us or us shiteing it and launching it aimlessly. Ayr won every header, they broke forward at will. We had no one to put their foot on the ball and just tell the rest of the team to f*cking calm down! Ferrie kept it from being a horsing tbh. I see some have been slagging Ayr for going on the pitch for the winner. Ayr have quite a few wee fannies in their support, but any QP fan saying they wouldn’t be on that pitch after being 2 nil down away from home are either lying, dead inside or literally physically unable to get over the hoardings. Last minute winners are sensational, regardless of how early in the season it is.

  42. Zero complaints. Ayr deserved to win that in the end. Dreadful from them in the first half and we took advantage of it. It’s not enough for us to look tidy and mildly entertaining, though. We need aggression and we showed f**k all. From the moment they scored, they were dominant. Thought Akinyemi was superb and absolutely tortured our awful defence. Even Fox was miles off it. How Lee Kilday is playing full-time football is beyond me. Nowhere near good enough. Fair play to the boy giving it the big one at the winner. You give it out, you have to take it back. Not necessarily my immediate reaction at the time, but football is nothing without shithousery? Think Murray gave it a bit at the goal to the Ayr fans as well, which I wholeheartedly approve of. Biggest sickener in many a year. Probably not felt a punch in the baws like that since Rovers scored two late ones at Hampden to draw after we’d murdered them. Big wake up call for us. Time to toughen up.

  43. It's gone full Trump. The basic concept that who gives a f**k about how offensive or outrageous you are, provided you other your opponent to the point whereby there's enough of 'us' to ensure victory over 'them', why the f**k would you give a single shiny shite about the 'them' or how repulsive your behaviours and actions towards them are? I totally get what you are saying about politicians of the past as I was going to post something similar myself. The difference is often put down to 'convictions' versus the current lot just being a load of self-serving charlatans who are entirely out for themselves, but I don't think that adequately covers it. Ambitious politicians have always had a streak of ruthless self-interest, but that was tempered by an understanding that when you govern you are governing an entire electorate, not just pandering to the ones you know will back you. Trump showed that no matter how ridiculous you are as a human being, no matter how ridiculous your policies, provided enough of the electorate are ridiculous enough themselves to agree with you and vote for you, you're on pretty steady ground. I know it's not as simple as 'the people who elect these idiots are fucking reprehensible idiots themselves', but there is undoubtedly a degree of that at play both in the US with Trump and with the Tories of the past 5 years. Remember when Cameron went to lengths to try to rehabilitate the Conservatives reputation as being the 'nasty' party? Well all of that has gone out of the window and we're now at a point where they have surpassed anything that happened under the 'bad old years' of Thatcherism. The inherent right-leaning tendencies of the English electorate have encouraged and emboldened the swivel-eyed right in the party of governance, to the point whereby they've managed to convince England and Wales to commit and egregious act of self-harm by voting to leave the EU, they've managed to legitimise complete fucking morons as PM candidates by indulging in continual dead-cat ruses, lying to the point of ridiculousness, and telling a sizeable minority of thick, bigoted morons exactly what they want to hear. The problem is that minority is enough to permit the Tories to hang on to absolute power, which they then use not to govern the UK in it's own best interest, but to abuse for their own ends. I'm genuinely surprised that none of the original candidates in the Tory leadership race attempted to open up a discourse on the return of Capital punishment, because as unpopular a position that is with the wider electorate, it's exactly the sort of thing that goes down a storm with the people these folk are pandering to. I mean, who gives a f**k about a policy that is overwhelmingly unpopular if you are talking about the electorate as a whole if it's still hugely popular with a minority that is still large enough to get you elected thanks to a totally broken system you can abuse? These politicians are caricatures. Vacuous ideologues that would have been ridiculed as joke-figures even ten years ago, but that's another stunt the right of the Tory party pulled. They made the environment and debate so toxic and idiotic that every last one of the 'decent' moderates thought 'f**k this' and either left the party or left politics altogether. It's not even unique to the Tory party. Look at how the Labour Party has completely imploded and self-immolated since the New Labour farce. That's not because New Labour isn't really a thing any more, it's because Blair abused the same cult of personality shite to dumb-down politics himself, abandoned everything that actually held the Labour party together in the first place, filled it with the same vacuous, self-serving careerists that the Tory party is now full of, and left it a pointless, directionless husk when he finally fucked-off into the sunset to do the lucrative speaking tours. This omnishambles didn't start with Johnson, or even May or Cameron. It started with Blair, and it's most of the reason why I despise the c**t with a fire that I can't even work up for Thatcher.
