  1. Imagine being a Rangers fan? Actually imagine it. Your support is rightly called out for being unreformed (!) 19th century bigots, your club goes full Trump/Boris denial of reality 'no WE'RE the victims' and uses sheer weight of numbers to make the national broadcaster look like the bad guys for reporting on sectarianism, sectarianism that is a key feature of being a Rangers supporter. You take all that in and then you stand back and think, 'Aye, Rangers are the good guys here'. You simply cannot be a Rangers supporter without being a wrongun.

  2. Hideous cowardice. Just stinking lickspittle, bootlicking nonsense. A grubby, sad, pathetic, cringey piece of shit from an organisation long bereft of morals. This also tips well over in to being bigot apologists. Sevco must be laughing hard at this. They don't give a shit about BBC Scotland but BBC Scotland are running after them like wee bitches crying and bawling, begging them to stay.

  5. Wonder if that's bait for Stewart to bite on... Embarrassing from BBC. This is more than just worthy of the tinpot thread, it needed a thread of its own.

  6. We’ve just beaten Hibs, have a real chance to progress in the League Cup and make a few quid, have the adventure of a new ground and to enjoy a few beers in the pub tonight and we choose to spend the morning moaning about a message on our Website . You literally could not make it up !!

  7. Naw. I think the players are going to be gutted and demoralised because there was a line saying tickets sold out below another line saying tickets for sale on the website. All that coaching about the pressing game, accurate passing, crossing on the run, fake strikers and fluid defence just goes straight out the window when the fixture list isn't on the website. 5-0 to Bonnyrigg and half a dozen players telling their agents to get them a move imo.

  8. Really fed up of all the "but its glorified friendlies" talk on here and the SRE about these league cup games. It's a chance to progress and get good gate money. Look at the Dundee Utd game last season. Go further and you might get Rangers or Celtic which would be a TV pick plus a sell out (at somerset) or a very good cheque if its played at their ground. Absolute wild take from some folk who see these games as unimportant

  9. There appears to be a developing sub-community of posters - exclusively male and over 50 - who object in frothing terms to any discussion of current issues that includes pesky things like facts, evidence or argumentation. Apparently using these techniques on the GN section of a Scottish football forum is a claim to world-leading expertise that requires slapping down your CV and publications to back it up at every opportunity. Which seems strange given that the volume of semi-serious discussion has in fact massively declined on here in the past 15 years. Perhaps the solution to this deeply held grievance is to set up a Da'snet sub-forum - a cosy safe space where you can just post puns, Kenneth Williams jpegs and scorching anecdotal/mainstream media regurgitated takes to your heart's content. The insistence that everyone else must follow these norms is getting rather tedious though.

  13. The thing with dealing with Rangers fans, any Rangers fan, is that you're dealing with someone who has thrown their lot in with a club that is, has always been, and clearly always wants to be bigoted from top to bottom. There's no pretense of integrity or any kind of ambition to be socially acceptable. Everyone knows what Rangers are, everyone knows they revel in it. Nobody supports Rangers with their eyes shut or their naivety intact. I rarely feel comfortable broad-brushing groups of people. But I grew up in Scotland, I've attended dozens of Rangers matches, I know lots of Rangers supporters. When I meet a Rangers fan, I know I'm dealing with a bigot, or, at very, very best, someone fine with supporting a club everybody knows is dripping with bigotry. You'll get no contrition from any of them. Because they think being bigots is fine. That's why they support Rangers.

  16. Not so long since the obnoxious c**t threw Blackford out the House for having the temerity to call Johnson a liar. Talk about double standards? We just should have nothing to do with that institution. Come on Scotland, we can do better than this.

  19. Tories - we need to wipe the slate clean after the way in which Johnson disgraced the office of PM, restore the faith of the public, and move on with a better brand of politics Also Tories - lets promote a pair of utter charlatans who were in the Boris shit up to their necks, one of whom is clinically stupid, the other so out of touch with any sort of reality he can't work a debit card and has trouble discerning which country he's in when he's 10 miles from his own constituency. This fucking joke of a 'United' Kingdom... The next two years are going to be a carcrash of epic proportions which, while it'll be fun to rubberneck at, is utterly fucking galling because we're going to have to live with the consequences of being governed by a bunch of idiots being puppeteered by some of the most vile, self-interested ideologues on the right of the Tory party. If Labour can't wipe the fucking floor with this clown troupe in 2024 then they might as well fold and advocate for the UK being a single party state.

  20. Let’s not overlook the collective media in Scotland are partly responsible for this by their lack of solidarity. But they were glad to coory in like the sycophants they are and point at the BBC from afar but within earshot of Dougie. When a BBC journo and therefore by association the organisation were personas non grata it needed STV, Clyde 1, BT, Sky and all the print redtops and broadsheets to stand together and call out the bullshit. Not to endorse what was reported, but to temper the insidious precedent it set. You cut off oxygen of publicity then you don’t get the “f**k you” attitude exhibited anywhere to the same degree. It’s no coincidence that most libraries in Scotland have “Let their be light” above the door. Truth and Integrity die in the darkness. Also, for a club to eager to sing about everyone hating them and they don’t care, they sure as f**k seem to.

  21. I agree with this. For a number of reasons, there is undoubtedly room for optimism on the footballing side, and most people on here have been basking in the good feeling, as we all should. But I have spotted growing trend on here where people who raise even the most moderate of concerns - be it about football or non-footballing issues - are getting jumped on by folk accusing them of just moaning or being negative, as if they dare criticise the club for anything. While I'm sure there are a couple of them on here, not every everyone questioning something about the club is a puppet for the former BOD, which is one of the first accusations that often gets lobbed at them. That kind of factionalism makes those who engage in it look as much like the previous regime they seek to criticise - I don't believe they are actually anything like those charlatans, but it's not always a good look. We should all be in this together and pulling in the same direction, but people are still allowed to criticise or raise concerns.

  22. Really is a disgrace to be honest. Your club have known for a long time this would likely be the case unless they could come to an agreement with Syngenta. The club seem to be getting it right on the park but the continual contempt towards your fans is an absolute disgrace to be honest.

  25. The behemoth wins by silencing decent into any and all criticism. “Sectarianism you say? No nothing to see here now move along” …. Reeks of Orwell. You can’t tackle a cancer when you actively deny its existence and fight against the chemotherapy. But do they ever want to rid themselves? You instead release an orange away strip, claim bias, and victimhood to eclipse the cross town mob. So now uniquely tapped out of the Cinch obligations and held out till the BBC apologised for reporting facts. Congratulations for empowering gallus behaviour. Anyone covering them will now run an extra level of self policing scrutiny before conveying their report not exercised covering anyone else. Did the BBC ever back down when it came to Sir Alex’s son?

  26. Standing there like they’ve just bust a Colombian cartel and took 500 kilo of cocaine off the streets. What a genuinely sad profession the police must be if they find taking bottles of alcopops and Mad Dog off teenagers worthy of a picture. Someone has actually taken the time to collect them all, take them to a police office, line them up neatly on the table and then shout a couple of bottom feeder officers in for a picture. Just clocked that it’s the Transport Police too, even the normal police look down at them.

  31. Yet another kick in the stones for the fans. Less of an issue for me because I’d already decided I couldn’t renew. But if I had coughed up for me and the two kids I would be utterly fucking livid right now. Great that we’re doing well on the pitch. Back to back promotions were absolutely unthinkable when I started going to see this team. But that’s also not the reason I started going to see this team and it’s not the reason I’ve spent so long trying to get my kids involved. The Committee needs to take a proper look at themselves here. Stop playing at being big time and represent the values and interests of the supporters.

  33. Without trying to put words into others mouths I imagine the annoyance comes from the social media/website output being quite consistently sloppy. You can isolate every incident which would obviously trivialise the arguement, but there can be no denial that as a whole this is something which has been poor for a while now. Been a bit of jumping down people throats, admittedly justified at times, but sometimes there has been legitimate concerns.

  37. The scale of the fires is unprecedented. It was the busiest day for the London Fire Service since WW2. Then you look abroad to places like California and the Mediterranean which are dealing with huge fires. Australia also suffered devastating bushfires a year or two ago. In short - these fire events are becoming more frequent and more ferocious. It’s no coincidence that this is happening alongside global temperatures rising year on year and countries experiencing record breaking temperatures. It’s also no coincidence that temperatures are rising alongside greater C02 emissions than ever being pumped into the atmosphere…by us.

  38. Thought there was definitely more positives than negatives last night. Defence looked fairly solid after a few flutters in the opening stages of the game- with Stanger, Graham and Taggart all performing well. Goalkeeper once again stood tall when called upon and looks a really decent acquisition. Not keen on Taggart at left centre back, but the guy is so consistent you could really put him anywhere on the field Church did lose his man for the County opener, and he knew it. But to Countys credit it was a decent delivery that hung in the air and asked questions. Sammon wanted the penalty and after his Saturday hat-trick thats pretty normal. If Scougalls on the pitch he takes it. I did have a feeling he would miss, particularly after the short delay as the ref sorted out a bit of jostling on the edge of the area. Not the big mans best night but he put in a proper shift as usual We carried far more of a threat and purpose when Cawley and Scougall came on the pitch- no real surprise there but we played some really good stuff 2nd half. MacIver (who has taken a bit of time to get going in pre season) and Rodden both put in decent performances. MacIvers header looked in all the way but unfortunately hit the post. Khyyam was busy and being a general nuisance to the County defenders from the bench. Looked like he did the job the manager asked of him. Decent competitive game with a good tempo from the off and even a wee bit of nastiness every now and then- enjoyed it

  42. Delighted with an unexpected win. At times it looked liked some very very good passing that the saints couldn't keep up with but also at times it seemed liked they stood off and let us play. My only complaint would be at times a little too much passing were a ball into the box or a shot looked the better option. Also a little surprised but pleased to see us play confident from the back against a Premier league team. The sending off did change things. Looked Maybe a little harsh from the main stand. Looked like he was unaware the player was coming to head the ball and he's stuck his foot up to control it. Fair play though he's checked he's OK and took his punishment. It definitely made them sit back and try for counter attacking but they couldn't get on the ball to make passes till the last 15/20 mins. I'm sure the St mirren team we saw tonight won't be the same in 7 or 8 weeks but they need a spark in midfield they were missing tonight. Edit to add my disappointment in seeing the saints fans getting grief from the stewards for trying to add a bit of atmosphere to the game. I get the stewards have rules to follow but usually we don't see fans having a good time in our league and the stewards don't understand how that works. The kids over our end were delighted to see something we don't see every week.

Here’s a lady that has had a stinkin couple of days, we’re in Blackpool and Mabel has came with us only to be cooped up in the room with the fan on, only getting to see the light of day to go for a pee. Black Lab coming 2 in October, cries when not physically touching one of us. She also leans on sofas in a very “yer da” fashion

Stuff the rest of Scottish football, the pyramid system as long as Rangers can spend a million on a B team to win a League they are allegedly guests for one more season !
