  1. Add me to the give Urminsky a chance club. What's point of us taking 2 years to train the lad up and develop him if we're bringing in a loan keeper to jump the line? Give him at least until the end of the transfer window and if he's not up to scratch, get a loan deal sorted late on.

  3. We have sponsored a Ukrainian family and they joined us last week. It's a bit of a crowded house as we already had six of us living at mine and now a further three. They are very nice, Mum is always cleaning up and Dad is walking about with his toolbox fixing everything. If anyone is considering doing it, I highly recommend. If there's a photo that makes you a proud Dad it's this one.

  4. Laughable that fans of The Rangers are preaching that anyone finding Jocks, Paddies or Taffs offensive are "snowflakes" when the mere whispers of the H word sends into a tailspin.

  5. We were in Ibiza recently. The first night we went out we took a taxi home and on hearing my accent the driver almost immediately asked for my view on Brexit. When I told him he replied 'Yes, and they told you Scots in 2014 to vote against independence to keep your place in the EU'. The conversation went on and the guy proved to be incredibly well-versed, probably more than half the critters here I gave him a good tip and wrote down the link to P & B.

TASC SOCIAL MEDIA MAN OF THE MATCH - RESULT Congratulations to Bobby Linn on winning the TASC Social Media Man of the Match for his performance in the Lichties 3-1 win against F.C Edinburgh yesterday. Sir Robert won the game with 2 sensational goals! Some say he’s like a fine wine……..he gets better with age! Thanks to all who voted

  7. This is well worth a read, lots of interesting and balanced points with a fair bit of insider info we didn’t know about. Among other things it reveals the manager considered Callum Hendry to be more of a no 10 than a no 9 and that’s part of why he didn’t think he needed him.. which is a pretty astonishing revelation as why on earth would he think that?

  8. "is the UK a voluntary union?" Yes "so will you allow a referendum?" No "Well that's that all cleared up, no need to examine this topic more closely. Moving on to whether women can have a penis and by how much would you cut the woke civil service and get a grip of the commie BBC."

  9. It's the settling that Davidson does. Crawford and MacPherson are the prime examples. There is absolutely no chance that Tommy Wright signs either after having them on loan. He always strived for better. We saw it when he released guys like Cregg, Lappin, McDonald, Paton etc... despite them playing a lot of football for him. Davidson has settled for and that's why the squad has been systematically destroyed. Wright also realised quickly when long-established players were done, he didn't draw it out with the likes of Anderson and Wright. Callum Davidson is taking his namesake Murray down the same route that Sandy Clark did with Kane and Dasovic. What a mess.

  12. I wouldn't say I encountered anything I'd call 'pressure', but certainly there was an unspoken expectation, and incredulity that it didn't happen or when I told these people it wasn't going to. I was together with my Ex for over a decade before we actually got married. As soon as we came back from honeymoon the bullshit started. It basically ended when I'd finally had enough and told her old man to mind his own fucking business and stop with the sly digs and constantly havering on about all their own pals' grandkids. The most ridiculous was when we met an old friend on a night out a couple of years after we got hitched. Most of our friends were having their first or second at this point, and she deliberately waited until my mrs had gone to the loo then accosted me with a 'you know you can get help if it's not happening for you?'. I was completely nonplussed to begin with, and then I realised what she was getting at. I'll never forget the look on her face and her total inability to process my response to her that far from 'not happening', we simply weren't trying because neither of us had the blindest bit of interest in being parents. It simply doesn't enter the heads of some folk that other people either do not want, or in my case, can't fucking stand children.

No matter how shit we are or how much the board piss me off with their small minded incompetence I buy my season ticket year in year out and go to as many games (work permitting etc) as I can get to Also to add one, I'm from neither Cumbernauld or Rutherglen/Glasgow but still go.

  20. [emoji23] was just coming on to post that. It’s my wee brother, who I was sitting next to. Fucking brilliant. He also caught Shane Lowry’s at 10. I missed that one, but did see his one at 9, and Finau’s earlier in the day. Add myself front and centre to the golf love-in. We were there on Thursday, played Downfield on Friday, and then back down yesterday. Absolutely magnificent few days. Was down with my pals on Thursday, so just stood / sat by the 9th green / 10th tee all day. So entertaining seeing so many phenomenal golfers smash ones through the back and under the grandstand (Bryson was the first which was very funny). Right next to the bars and that too so ended up pretty boozy. Very good laugh. First time playing downfield. Cracking Parkland course. Plenty of trees and bunkers but also open enough not to be impossible. Shot an 85, which considering how rough and tired I was l, I was pretty pleased with. Yesterday was class. Down with the old boy and two wee brothers. We followed Bob round the course until he finished, then went to the 9th for a good while, and finished at the 10th green / 11th tee before I went to get the train back. Was interesting being in the same spot by the 9th green and seeing the adjustments the players had made with their drives, not a single one through the back yesterday. The whole set-up is fucking brilliant, and the weather the entire time I was anywhere near a golf course was magnificent. Averaged about 23k steps over each of the three days, so it’ll be a well deserved couch day watching it all unfold today. What a game

  21. Stick me down for a golf is magic! Our visitors comp today, i went par, birdie, Eagle, at the turn as a 20 handicapper this is the stuff of dreams, after driving the green on a par 4 and single putting I then proceeded to send my next T shot out of bounds and racked up an 8! But I'll never top to two 2s in a row as long as I play golf!!!

  22. I fucking love golf. Me, my brother and my dad went out to play Balfron today for my brothers birthday, a course I love playing. My brother has played 2 rounds of golf in his life and shot 75 through the front 9 today, 68 on the way back, I shot a 92 and my dad shot a (piss poor by his standards) 96, yet every one of us had a brilliant day and never stopped smiling. We headed for a meal with the rest of the family then came home to watch the final few groups finish at the Open and we're all absolutely buzzing. It feels special, it feels big and tomorrow is going to be great. I think golf is one of the best things people can do for their mental health and today just hammered it home for me. Steamin' on dopamine. And pints tbf.

  25. 18 months ago Oor Calvin was a jobbing LB/occasional CD when we had no-one else. What we liked about him was that he was a always a trier. We also had the odd laugh when players from other clubs tried to go should-to-shoulder with him and he used them like skittles. His transformation in the course of a season has been fucking remarkable and he's now a very wealthy young man. Thanks to his own prowess and hard work. I will miss big Calvin.

  26. I think it would be a good idea for MPs (including ministers) annual pay rises to be restricted to the lowest percentage (or cash sum if applicable) awarded in the public sector generally. Oh, and for about the next decade (or maybe longer) these rises needs to be met from annual efficiency savings in the running costs of Parliament (not the public sector budget as a whole, the actual costs of Parliament attributed to the day to day activities of the HoC/HoL). Now, that might mean reducing allowances, reducing subsidies of food and drinks, fewer holidays, faster voting procedures, etc. Anyone watching a vote in Westminster must wonder what they are watching. These folk fighting like rats in a sack over who gets the big chair demand efficiency savings from everyone else, yet seem content to have working practices of their own that probably haven't changed much since a bloke used to have to carry a flag in front of a moving car.

  27. I think it’s entirely fair to criticise him. He played unimaginative, negative golf in his approach play pretty much all day. Whether that was through an inability to hit his irons in range for birdie chances or an unwillingness to risk a mistake is essentially moot. He didn’t do it and it cost him. Hovland was exactly the same. They had the two worst rounds of anyone in the top 18, and only Scott and Kim had similarly bad in the top 20. They only have themselves to blame.

  34. I'm so proud of those lads today. Down to 13 players. Adjustment pre game due to accident on m8. Playing full time team who are 4 divisions above us. They worked their balls off and ensured a heavy defeat would not happen. Those lads give 100% for that Jersey and after only 10 or 11 sessions that's frightening to see their development thus far. Sinky has a broken toe and daniel has hamstring injury thus the squad is down to 15 or 16 players including 2 gks. Budget is almost done. Loans are done. Realism is required. This is almost an impossible situation but I have full trust and belief that these lads will give everything to the cause as they did today. Stephen robinson even came into dressing room to say well done to the players he thought they were excellent and was hugely impressed. Bit of class from him and a confidence boost for those young lads. Mone the cowde and f**k the berwick mutant

  35. I went out last night, absolutely knackered from a week of work (and going to The Open, but that’s just as knackering tbh) and feeling pretty rough. Out for 18 on my own in the night time sun, shot 82 for one of my best rounds ever (was 3 over through 9 and on the verge of exploding in my boxers). Went from feeling a bit shite and tired, to fucking buzzing. Golf is the greatest sport in the world.

  40. Oklahoma Rangers 0-7 Vale of Leven u20s. OK, not strictly random because the Vale are my team, but playing a travelling American side is pretty random, so I'm posting! Oklahoma Rangers are an American youth team who are on a UK tour just now. Our 20s were selected to be their local opposition at the Rangers Training Centre tonight. Good performance from our boys, looked really sharp, especially considering it was our first game of preseason with a vastly different team to last year. The Americans had a couple of really tidy looking players, but the rest weren't up to the West of Scotland under 20s standard. Good night, always nice to see something a bit different in preseason.

  42. OK, went to Meadowbank so here's my excuses: 1. It was the only competitive game I could find in the Edinburgh area. Always prefer that to a friendly. 2. Been to Meadowbank loads of times so it wasn't a tick (judging by the accents and many sad wee guys with rucksacks, plenty others wanted to bag the occasion/ground). 3. Wanted to run the eye over one of ICT's league rivals. 4. Wanted to visit the Bellfield Brewery which is just across the road. 5. You can never pass up an opportunity to have a couple of pints in the Guildford between buses. It truly is a terrible venue and I feel sick for the likes of @tamthebam. Some people have been saying it's no worse than AP but the seats have very few passageways and are packed very tightly so if you want a pish you feel you are annoying far more folk. I got told off for sitting in the Directors' Box (not very obvious). The toilet situation at ht was awful too, a long walk followed by a queue. 1-1 at ht, fairly even, FCE took the lead with a grand strike from Crane, Low equalised from the spot. Arbroath totally dominant second half and supersub Bobby the Binman hit 2 great strikes.

  43. Edinburgh United 1-1 Gretna 2008 The fact that Gretna play 3 divisions higher than their hosts wasn't visible at all. The match was tight, Edinburgh United took the lead midway through the second half. Gretna kept pushing though and deserved their equaliser. A draw was probably the right result.

  44. Kilsyth Athletic 4-2 Royal Albert. Game two of the day and it was a comfortable win for Athletic who despite being a tier lower we're by far the better team. Now, about the ground. It's absolute nonsense that Kilsyth Sportsfield has been deemed up to West of Scotland League standard. A standard 3G cage with absolutely no spectator facilities whatsoever. And the screens they've put up to stop people watching without paying in wouldn't stop anyone from doing just that. In fact, a group walking a dog watched a good 20 minutes from outside the cage. Nothing against the club, who clearly have ambition and some decent people running it, but as it is, there's no way it's a suitable venue.
