  1. I’d rather take the risk of an independent Scotland running our own affairs than hope the Tories stop being Tories

  4. Pray for Kincardine. He’s really going to get it in the neck from the members at the local golf club when he starts his evening shift collecting glasses. ”I see you sweaty socks are getting all uppity again!?!” ”Yes massa, sorry massa” Almost feel sorry for the bigoted old c**t.

  5. It's about time we go a chance to vote, it's what the Scottish electorate clearly want having mandated our government on more than one occasion. As a left leaning, socially inclusive country, Scotland has no place in this world shackled to the right wing establishment of the UK.

  9. Is it only greed when the people asking for a payrise are in the 30-50k p/a bracket? Inflation is at 9.1% and many professions such as doctors and teachers haven’t had a pay rise that has kept up with CPI in years. We have the highest percentage of people in full time employment using the benefit system than ever before, does that sound like the kind of thing that should be happening in a country with the 5th highest GDP in the world? Did you make similar posts when the CEOs of NatWest, Lloyds, HSBC and Barclays were taking 7 figure bonus’ at the same time as plunging the country in to a recession? We are currently in the situation where Boris Johnson is going to try and remove the cap on bankers bonus’ set by the EU, where a bonus could be no more than 100% of their fixed annual pay. Even if every single doctor and nurse in the UK got a 20% pay rise, it still wouldn’t come close to the amount of tax that companies like Amazon evade paying in the UK. Or the numerous amount of tax loopholes opened by Gordon Brown which are still being exploited today. Or the billions of pounds funnelled through the City of London to hide Russian oligarchs wealth? Is that not more worthy of your attention? The Russians call it ‘Londongrad’ or the ‘London Laundromat’ f**k sake, the UK happily allow them to wash their money here, and we’ve got people begrudging a nurse a 10% rise on a £30,000 wage . Goebbels would be proud of the job this Government have done to make the public look the other way.

  12. Things are going to get worse in the UK The Westminster Government is corrupt, They’re becoming more and more extreme. Just look at the US, that is where we are heading, absolutely no doubt about it Even if Labour magically get into power, they won’t roll back the damage the Tories have done or replaced the rights they have removed from us They’ll maintain the status quo until the Tories get back into power again. Tories think food banks are a good thing and people who use them deserve to be poor They hate the poor They hate the disabled They hate human rights They hate the NHS They hate state pensions They hate public service They hate scrutiny. Just look what’s happening with Channel 4 for daring to call them out They've changed their laws on protesting They want to make it harder for people to vote They don’t believe in society People are things to be used They hate people like me and you. It’s that simple This ain’t hyperbolic stuff here. Johnson has just literally lifted the cap on bankers bonuses, while telling us chumps we need to pay more in taxes. Staying in the UK shouldn’t even be a debate, we should be getting shot of these c***s pronto for our own sake.

  16. One aspect of this that shouldn't be forgotten in this thread at least, more than the wider debate itself, is that the bigoted, self loathing toxic auld xenophobe Kincardine has absolutely no say whatsover in the debate, or the vote to come.

  18. Think some of the comments around various platforms on Jamie McCart are harsh. He developed into a good player for Saints and more than played his part in the success last season. Like virtually everyone, he had a dip this season but I thought from when the transfer window closed he was back to being one of our top performers and a big part of making sure we didn't finish bottom. How does in the Championship will provide a decent indicator to the quality of that league.

  24. I don't think it's completely equivalent - but at our level, there is competition with other clubs to get the best prospects in the 'Shire and the "elite" academy stuff that we are part of is part of commodifying very young players in a way that never really existed in the past at our level. We must be targetting kids that are playing for other teams, whether that is school or boys club (and other "lesser" academies) The main difference is that we are using a pretty targetted approach with the idea of bringing players to the first team - but the bigger clubs (especially down south) are using a huge drift net to get as many kids possible in the hope that a tiny percentage are good enough to play at the top level. The wastage rate of boys that get lost in that system must be incredible and you get the situation where clearly good players like Slattery have f**k all 1st team experience by their 21st birthday. Overall, I find the idea that our best young players are off before their 16th birthday to be pretty depressing and it actually poses a threat to our business model as the chances of getting someone playing 50-100 games and being sold on for good money are reduced every time this happens.

  33. O.K., here it is, the definitive wooden spoon winners list:- 1 spoon Richie 95 Marr1 Eckthearab Wilkinson1988 Ziggy Wilky 1878 madwullie LiviLion Alang1993 Sevesnape Aidan Salvo Mantalbano sureiknow DublinMagyar Audaces Fortuna Juvat Ross. 8MileBU Adam101 sickboy NotThePars Christophe Helpma Silky Si McFly senor soupe 2 spoons Supermik The Captain welshbairn Nkomo-A-Gogo SteelJag MSU Day of the Lords Tynierose gkneill Gaz Ronaldo Jeremy kingjoey 3 spoons deej JamieT Estragon is a fud Spring Onion plesie99 4 spoons johnnydun CaspianChris 5 spoons NJ2 GooberBud Dyl 6 spoons Dee Man irvine_buddie Swarley wastecoatwilly 8 spoons ArmadaleKillie 9 spoons Lincoln Hearts 13 spoons 101 18 spoons Die Hard Doonhamer 19 spoons Blootoon87 22 spoons SlipperyP Big Bo 10 23 spoons G_Man 1985 40 spoons Jacksgranda The Rules: 1/ I may have missed the odd table. No protests (although why anybody would want to be on the list is beyond me, unless you're dropping someone else in it). 2/ There were some SUPER/MEGA/SUPERMEGA leagues. Depending on how the fancy took me there could have been 2/1/or no spoons awarded. 3/ @Cardinal Richelieu was pdq at posting the tables, whoever was bottom when they were posted got the spoon, subsequent late scores were ignored. 4/ @SlipperyP took over, his decision was final, anybody who posted only 1 score was deemed bottom and awarded the spoon. Sometimes Slips took umbrage at somebody who hadn't posted all week and had a score of zero, and they got the spoon. 5/ Nothwithstanding my decision to award no spoons during my hospitalisation, Slippery went to the bother of handing them out, so they've been included. If you don't like those rules, I have others. A plethora of 1s, many of home played the quiz only once, came last and disappeared, then it settles down a bit, a wheen of 2s, 3s, 4s and 5s, then we start getting into the dummies main contenders, before we hit the colossi of Die Hard Doonhamer, Blootoon87, G_Man 1985, Slippery P, Big Bo 10 and the daddy of them all, Jacksgranda, with an amazing embarrassing 40. I could take a year off and still be the leader. Unfortunately some of the leading idiots lights no longer post which would have taken the bad look off my score, by probably reducing my tally somewhat. You could add Slips and Big Bo together and I would still nearly be top bottom man. Horrendous.

  34. New CEO: on the ball, local guy, saying all the right things, seems to get the club. Transfer business: virtually done already and looks promising. Strengthened in areas that needed it. Shame about Gogic but it was always going to be a long shot IMO. Manager: based on last night seems set on a 4-3-3 but we've seen he is willing to change that if/when required as well. I'm happy the back 3 seems not to be the preferred formation. Squad: only lost Alnwick that I'd have wanted to keep, and Carson is a great replacement. Shirt: looks great, and the reveal was the best ever. That legends/community vibe was spot-on. Can't remember a summer ever going as smoothly as this. Feels weird. Obviously we need to see the signings in action but the likes of O'Hara, Carson and Gallagher have pedigree at this level. The two wide forwards look to have physique and pace and w are very well stocked for strikers now, including the young lads. I hope at last one of those will stay in the squad. When the logo lasts longer than the bank itself...

  40. Why would anyone want this? The Northern pyramid is finally settled with the introduction of the Midland league which seems to be popular. The Lowland league are making a right arse of things at the moment but it will sort itself out soon enough with a bit of tinkering on promotion/demotion and getting the colts tae f**k.

  46. Tennis courts got refurbished in my area a few years back, and the council advertised it as being opened by ‘Judy Murray and special guest’, which everyone assumed was going to be Jamie Murray. Everyone was wrong though as the bold Andy is standing with his mum opening a couple of red blaes courts in a Renfrewshire housing scheme. This was right when he was at the top of his game, definitely top 3 in the world. I don’t think anyone would have batted an eyelid if it was just Judy Murray herself, but a nice touch from Andy to make an appearance too.
