  1. State some people were getting in over a carrot on a football top. Exactly that, I'd rather we had a local business who's owner is an avid Falkirk fan on the top than that Shit house mob we had last year. People will look for anything to moan about. Seen someone moan we're playing Stranraer in a friendly

  3. A mate showed me this, it reminded me why I don't do Facebook. Imagine being a Falkirk fan, owning a company and spending a large sum of money to have your logo absolutely torn apart and ridiculed. They guys are maybe thick skinned, but I found it really embarrassing to read and a bit sad that they are tearing into a local company for a logo on a top.

  6. Yes it's very disappointing the club prioritised the fitness of players who have a future at the club over showcasing Niang to the countless managers of other teams who were sat in the stand at Alloa last night.

  8. That's an awful lot of bother to go to, in the name of getting a longer main stand. Palmerston's greatest asset by a mile is the Portland Road end. Any plans that required its demolition when the league body no longer has ludicrous ground criteria, would be madness. I'd rather that any new stand was set high again. How far it runs along the side, would not trouble me. I've been delighted to see Terregles Street back in use, but it really does need fixing and tidying.

  11. Having a mini heids gone at the STV news coverage of the train strike. It's overwhelmingly negative and biased against it. The singular focus seems to be the disruption. 10 minutes so far and we haven't heard from any strikers or any insight or context for the strike. It's appealing stuff, just frequently talking about how people won't be able to take trains and focusing on cherry picked sob stories of folk who this will be badly impacting There's a hike in bills and the cost of living, so it's absolutely fine that workers should be asking that their wages increase in line with it. Do they talk about that? Do they f**k.

  12. Amazing how people sneer at others who are struggling taking action to try and better their standard of living. Fucking good on the railway workers, the rich are getting richer and the workers are being shafted. Hopefully more sectors go on strike. f**k the tories and f**k brexit.

  15. Whether or not the carrot logo looks great, I don’t mind it, these folk have put their money into our club and should be applauded for it. We most definitely have some moaning b*****ds in our fan base. We are just about to begin our 4th season in the third division of Scottish football, you would think we have more to be concerned about than a carrot logo on a strip.

  16. Longevity wins it for TW, for me. Callum Davidson will be remembered forever as the manager who led us to our greatest ever achievement, but TW took us to an unprecedented level of sustained success over a decade and is our greatest manager.

  19. We've got far more to worry about than the design of a bloody strip. The fact that McGuffie was modelling one of them suggests they're not in a rush to get the likes of him out the door which is worrying as he's way short in all departments of what we need. That said there's about ten others like that.

  21. Having watched all the clips of Mr Lynch put on here today it becomes very apparent how poor the opposition are in the commons. In the same week Johnson is pushing through measures to relax salary caps on executives, ordinary workers are being accused of fueling inflation. This is the sort of nonsense any semi competent Labour party would be having a field day with.

  22. For what it's worth, I've always thought Declan Byrne was quite a decent player. He's big and broad and he can put himself about, occupying defenders and bringing others into play. I don't think he's the most technically blessed of forwards but if there are players around him that can capitalise on his dirty work, he could be a smart piece of business.

  27. I've spoken to several people in this area about the chances of us entering the pyramid. I've never heard anyone say option Z was a serious option. And some of these people did previously believe TJ's "done deal" was going to happen. After it became clear that wasn't happening, I've only ever heard 4 options of how the Tayside area could enter the pyramid: join the EoSFL (if they are willing to include Tayside), form a league at tier 7/8 feeding in the EoSFL, form an own tier 6 league under the LL & form an own tier 6 league under the HL. None of this was ever taken to the PWG, instead this was just informally discussed with the EoSFL, LL & HL. After this, it became clear that the latter option was the most realistic and only at that stage formal talks started & the SFA was consulted. Considering option Z was never even mentioned here that says something. And assuming it was OK for the SPFL is just utter nonsense. Option Z was never seen as a serious option outside of a few people in the west.

  28. A very meh signing. Will no doubt do us a turn but not one to get excited about. Let me know when we've signed a 24 year old "anywhere across the front 3" striker from Kettering Town who has scored 5 goals in his entire career.

  33. I see he mentions a couple of big lads in the squad. That's probably the one thing our team from last year lacked in a few games, was a bit of height.

  36. He surely has to utilise the squad in the group stages We have one friendly arranged (a few days before our first competitive fixture), unless there are ones we haven’t been told about (which wouldn’t be surprising given the comms that come out of the club). seems like the league cup group may be being used as our pre-season program which I can’t say I’m particularly impressed about. We have 2 chances of winning trophies a season and we could potentially be throwing away one of them before we even kick a ball.

  37. Not much to add to comments above. Goalie and a goalscorer are clearly the key gaps we have. Apart from those we are OK, although more quality and a bit more depth would be welcome. Re Ramsbottom, I certainly wouldn't write him off based on that one game, but probably would based on the general view of him. Stranger looked impressive going forwards in the second half. I think he'd be a decent signing and give us further cover/options at the back. Wee Kev showing he's still a class act, even without his goal. Will be interesting to see how the manager fits both him and Taggs into the team, especially given his preference for a back three. I still prefer Kev through the middle and he could play the role Scougs did in the second half. Overall enjoyed the evening.

  39. I'm a texter so when I phone someone it's for a good reason. Same the other way. I rarely receive calls so if I do I answer as it's unusual and expect it's something important. This is a pretty entitled attitude mate. If I'm spending time with someone, or doing something I want to concentrate on, then I'll probably switch my phone off or put it to silent. If it's important you can send a message to say that something is important and you'd like to talk about it, but expecting folk to just drop what they're doing (which by the sounds of it you haven't considered at all) to respond to your immediate need is a bit off.

  40. Every good Livi squad needs a Menga/Souda. It's just not Livi without it. I will say though, Attila Kriston was the blueprint. He walked so Jet/Nouble could run

  41. I am also not a fan of red on our kits apart from tiny wee highlights. The classic early 90s Hummel number being the exception. This season's top is a slightly smaller logo away from being a 10/10. Would have far preferred white shorts though.

  42. Yeah standard fare really last night- but some decent passages of play on show from both sides and also a really decent crowd for a midweek pre season friendly- both sets of fans turned up in good numbers. Thistle were definitely on top most of the first half and deserved their lead. They had a couple of really nifty trialists, particularly number 7 on the right flank. Thistle then changed most of their team at half time, and Alloa flipped the game while they were adjusting. Cawley scored the goal of the night with an absolute beauty to equalise, and at that point it looked like Alloa might go on to win. But Thistle eventually got going again and 2 goals from Dowds sealed the match. Wouldnt completely write Ramsbottom off after one game on trial, but Jan Vojaceks assessment of Championship/Lowland League standard all in the one game was pretty apt. He made a couple of good saves, but didnt cover himself in glory for any of the goals. Give him the benefit of the doubt for the first one, but the other 2 goals werent great for him. I actually like the orange kit in the flesh- much brighter than the photo suggested, and very Blackpool like. Good to be back at the ground on a nice evening weather wise.

  43. I really don't understand this belief that we have to have some red in our kit. If you look at our kits throughout history then red only features as follows: Either red socks or some part of the socks are red 39% Red jersey or red trim on the jersey 21% Red trim on the shorts 5% Give me navy jersey, white shorts and navy/white socks every time. Our best kit in recent history was the 2015-2016 one and no red in sight. As I have said previously on this thread, adding red to our kit makes it look too staunch for my liking. http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Scottish_Football_League/Falkirk/Falkirk.htm
