  4. He's 35, just returned from a major injury and broke down injured in his return game. He also wanted 2 years which would take him to 37 by the end of his contract, all on a decent wage. As much as I love and respect the guy, we can do better.

  7. That’s absolutely gutting to take and another blow to the heart one I’m all to familiar with following Airdrie. I love P&B and also love the chat and the banter between fans but some of the stuff I read today was very disappointing. Look I am absolutely aware of the section of our fans that are arseholes and I have never shied away from criticising what I see. We have had fans let our club down time and time again but this idea we are all right wing, racist, bigoted violent thugs is so wide of the mark. We all have elements of our fans that tarnish a club and we know how hard it can be to build that back but there’s so much about our club I am proud of as are others. Us lower league fans could easily have chosen to support a winning team like the old firm and been a glory hunter like the majority. We didn’t though we chose to support a “diddy” team. We put our hard earned money and time following a club that brings much more hard times than good. We work hard for pish money, raise families, deal with our mental anguish and we all carry tough times in life especially as times get tougher. But here we are investing everything we have into our club and football isn’t just a game to any of us. So huffy it may be but anyone wishing genuine harm to my club today f**k off and go have a look at yourself and your time following your own team to remember just how shit moments like this are. For Queens Park fans congratulations on two fantastic seasons and I hope you can make a good go of it next year. Best of luck and have a great night tonight. As for Jai I won’t shy away from that either. I defended Rico vigorously and was always wishing him well and apologising for any abuse he received. I will say the same to Jai I am truly sorry if you were racially abused that is something that should never be tolerated under any circumstances. I hope you can enjoy your win today and enjoy your success. Life’s too short to hate players of other teams on a personal level with or without what has went on. I just hope the accusations are not a result of past events. It was a great season with a bitter end so time to switch off for the summer before doing it again next season.

  8. Top tip for you going forward - don't be shite and end up relying on other teams results at the end of the season. Teams can play anyone who is appropriately signed and have no reason at all to pick a team to suit a totally different club.

  10. Quite a few literally couldn’t get to Airdrie due to their trains being cancelled last minute and the supporters buses being full. But hey ho Incredible day. As I said on Twitter, I think I would die for Charlie Fox. He’s been phenomenal this season and as even the Airdrie fans have said, over the 2 legs in the final he didn’t put a foot wrong. Makes Laurie Ellis dropping him for 6 games earlier this season all the more bizarre. Simon Murray being fit also played a major part in our success. Of course he scored in both, but the difference even his running made was pivotal. Owen Coyle knows what he is doing. To end that game with McHugh, Murray and Quitongo on the pitch would have been unheard of even 2 months ago. We would score then get deeper and deeper until we inevitably conceded. Our time wasting at the end was also f*cking marvelous. We will defo need a good few signings for next season, and I can’t wait.

  17. Alright, I'll bite. I'm not blaming them for everything - the rain I've just got caught in didn't appear to be Johnson's doing, for example. However, I absolutely will blame them for 1. Over a decade of concerted and deliberate victimisation of the poorest and most vulnerable in society. The moron McLean this morning on KB's Sky show actually connected the Ukraine war as a reason for the "failings" of the Protocol. Not someone I'd take advice from on anything, to be honest. Just today's sacrificial sycophant, desperate to hang onto a ministerial car defend her boss's behaviour. 2. A tax regime which ensures those at the bottom of the economic heap suffer disproportionately in tough times. 3. Criminalising people trying to seek refuge from wars and attacks often carried out using the products of British "defence" manufacturers. Turning refugees into profit units. 4. Allowing our entire political system to be supported by dirty money, and actualy ennobling a Russian against Security advice - simply because he might bung a few millions to party funds. Failing to actually take any sanctions against Russia or Russians which jeopardise this cosy arrangement. 5. Lying like cheap watches to ensure the racist vote would carry them over the line in an election, then attempting to blame the EU for not being willing to change an international treaty which Johnson and his crew of fuckwits had signed up to in order to commit the biggest act of economic self-harm ever seen in exchange for another five years at the trough. 6. Failing in every single measurable way to govern this country in the way they are duty bound to, and not having the honour to admit their incompetence, venality, ignorance or mendacity. Actively killing off the poorest and most vulnerable, whose lives they are sworn to serve, in order to overfill the already bulging pockets of their masters with taxpayers money which will disappear into tax havens, never to see these shores again. f**k 'em.

  21. 'The pitch is a big leveller. Wait 'till we get them back to Airdrie and we can play our fancy football'. Delighted for the team, their passion, teamwork and organisation. A tortuous 210 minutes, but an historic victory to remember, and worth the miserable trips to Peterhead and Montrose, and all the one ones. It's really too early to say, but the Coyle era could well be exactly the right person at the right time. Yes, it's not fair, and hard one to take if you're an Airdrie fan. They were excellent and relentless this season. In my view a better footballing team than Cove. It's particularly unfair on Dylan Easton. An annoying wee shite, simply because he is a very good footballer. I hope Airdrie can retain the best of their team, and their manager, although I wonder if Rhys McCabe fancies Championship football.

  22. I am fucking far from being a Liverpool fan, but I cannot for the life of me imagine why a club which saw the establishment be complicit in, and try to cover up the deaths of 96 of their fans boo an anthem which symbolises not only the establishment, but also enormous wealth and privilege at a time when the rest of us are being ridden senseless by utilities companies and being told to sit down and eat our cereal gruel by an establishment which shows absolutely zero interest in helping out it's non-millionaire/Tory donor citizens. Ed Davey et al are bootlicking fucking wankers. Get them all into the fucking sea.

Basically, if anyone got under 40 I considered it a decent prediction, but two predictors managed far better than most in terms of overall predictions by hitting a solid 30 points. First, my fellow Dee @Spikethedee got to this tally through getting 5 teams' positions precisely correct (and a healthy lack of preseason optimism for his own team didn't hurt either!) despite his belief that his prediction was "far too early to have a decent chance". Unfortunately, his single certainty did not age so well. Second, everyone's favourite supporter of everyone's favourite team on this site, @bennett. He only got 1 team (St Johnstone bizarrely, practically everyone else had them top 6) exactly correct, but aside from having Dundee United bottom kept every other team relatively close to their final position. As for honourable mentions, @craigkillie managed a strong 34 points thanks to a decently accurate top 8 or so, while 4 posters managed 36 points, so a 'good effort' to Craig and @spiggle, @Bad Wolf, @Desp and @Scotty Tunbridge. WORST PREDICTIONS: Despite it being a tough season to correctly predict based on the limited info we had in July 2021, there were a couple dishonourable mentions for worst predictions. Usually it involves the predictions which commit to committing to favouritism/rivalry, and the delightfully devilish Hibs poster @Lyle Lanley managed to top the lot with a stupendous 52 points thanks to his distaste for his team's Edinburgh rivals Hearts (whom he had finishing 12th of course) and an admirable yet foolish belief in the HiDee alliance (with Dundee in 5th place). Just behind Lyle was @The Real Saints, whose combined two 8s, one 6, two 5s and two 4s helped accumulate a 50 point score, and a further 7 managed 48 points. Congrats to all, I suppose. Thanks to all whom gave predictions!

  27. 1. Obviously you can't, because that would betray your thick wc tory persona. The UN, Amnesty, the WHO and many many others do agree, however. International bodies, with no UK axe to grind. 2. Of course the rich pay more - they've fucking got more. You really are over-egging the stupid tory act here. Your statement about earning more "if they see fit" is just a straight lift from McLean's gibbering, and is still fucking ridiculous. 3. Define "safe" from the point of view of a refugee. I'm willing to guess not many people, of whatever origin, would risk their lives and pay thousands for the prize of a council flat and a "flatscreen TV". 4. Who is running this country again? Who ennobled Lebvedev(sp?)? Which Chancellor's wife (and by extension, Chancellor) is still actually doing business in Russia? 5, You're simply not paying attention, then. What do you believe wc England voted for, then? Longer queues at airports? Getting reduced residence in the EU (fucking "ex-pats" screamed like spoiled kids when that one sank in- one of the few pluses of the whole farrago)? I'll assume you've watched the news today, and the treaty issue may be clearer for you. Doubt it, tbh, but you never know. 6. And now we come to the part where responding to a vicious, stupid, ignorant and wilfully contrarian piece of shit stops becoming a bit of fun. Do you actually mean to say that "free will" could have prevented my daughter's physical disability? Are you trying to tell me that she. and hundreds of thousands like her, fucking chose to be born disabled? Not to mention those who have been crippled in illegal wars in support of that "special relationship", only to find that the country they put their lives on the line for doesn't even deem them worthy of housing? Fúck off, you loathsome little cúnt. MODS: Please empty this little w****r. There are trolls on here who can be baited amusingly. This little shit brings down the whole site by his presence.

  32. Felt the game was a decent watch considering it was a dead rubber. Montano looked really bright and linked up well with Lewis a few times so hope to see more of him next season. Shinnie was really good in the slightly deeper role too which allowed Sibbs to push further forward. Once again Boyes looked impressive and hopefully his injury isn't too bad as he could be a massive player for us next season. If Fitzwater does indeed go he'll be a loss but Obileye/Cancar - Boyes doesn't seem like too much of a downgrade in the backline. Thrilled for big Gary Maley getting his premiership debut, his introduction lifted the crowd and the atmosphere which seemed to get the players a bit more fired up leading to our 2 goals. Great day all in all for me as it was my daughter's first Livi game.

  33. Congratulations to Queens Park on the promotion. Don’t see any reason why you can’t be a competitive outfit at the top half of the Championship. I ended up catching the game from about 75 mins onwards, You did well to restrict Airdrie from that point. Cool finish from Murray with the penalty - which was a stonewaller btw. I’ve seen a few digs about the size of the QP support, aye it wasn’t great given the prize up for grabs, but the size of your away crowd doesn’t win you promotions, if they did Clyde would be 3rd in the SPL… All the best for next season!

  34. This is a bit of a mental take tbh. I mean, you’re right that no one has any right to finish anywhere and at present, livi are better than both hibs and Aberdeen, but this idea that all 10 teams set out with the same objectives, aims and expectations is just objectively wrong.

Perhaps these fanboys should point their guns at Considine & his agent for demanding a 2 year contract (at an alleged £3k per week) for a 35 year old player who’s struggling to overcome an ACL injury?

  39. I’m sincerely hoping Buchanan is one of the 2 year deals who’s leaving, I think he’s a massive problem. He was the one real constant in that awful defence last season, there was actually a game or two when he was either suspended or injured and we looked far more solid with a makeshift CB partnership. I’d be happy to see Carswell go as well, I don’t rate him as a player and I don’t rate him as a captain. There’s something about him I find really hard to take to. He’s been stinkin the place out for too long now.

  41. To be honest, I think if Goodwin really is trying to sign guys like Dunne and Gogic then he's not going to last long at Aberdeen. These guys are decent players for us that fit our budget, but they are not up and coming youngsters, and I don't think they are overlooked diamonds as well, they are where they probably deserve to be. Aberdeen have a budget that dwarfs ours, I can understand them going for guys like Alnwick or Ronan, but not squad players like Dunne, or guys who didn't make it at Hibs.
