  1. There is a hell of a lot of things you can attack Airdrie fans but having a go at a few supporters running onto the pitch celebrating a pretty emotional win and unbelievable come back is certainly not one of them. All of the supporters who ran on as far as I could see up in the stand caused no trouble and were just singing songs and getting a few selfie with the players. I celebrated in the stand personally but each to their own. Your reference regarding the attack on the Cove fan has been widely condemned by every decent Airdrie fan on social media and on P&B. As an Airdrie fan i hate this type of behaviour more than anyone. Also the guy that does the OTL podcast actually raised almost £2000 on a go fund me page to help the guy with his dental costs. Also to say that anyone who wears casual clothing to the football is a thug is ridiculous. There is a small minority of idiots in every support but I don't think anyone that is not in a teams colours to the game is a thug. During big games youre going to attract loads of people who this will have been there first Airdrie game of the season. I don't care if those who go on Saturday if they is there first game or 50th game of the season. I'd imagine if Queens Park win promotion There will be a pitch invasion of some description. Will be interesting if you condome the sort of behaviour at the game if that happens.

  2. Just to say, I'll be trying my best to invade the pitch should we win on Sunday. As for my attire, I may not have any.

  4. Disagree. 1. All clubs at our level need backing from the fans in order to generate money. They obviously need us to do our part cos there’s no sky TV or foreign billionaires gona do it for us. 2. There are huge numbers of volunteers at all football clubs and the volunteer and the club clearly benefit from that. No issue with the guy who runs the social media etc doing so on a voluntary basis. 3. There has been a lot of talk about disbanding the academy again. Although we are a while away from any real benefit from it, it’s pleasing to hear it’s part of the plan. 4. Tangible change? Appointing a proper manager is a good start. I’ve always said I’ll criticise the club when I think they’ve fucked up and praise where it’s due. Since the season ended the club deserve nothing but praise. The next bit is key - getting the right players in. Here’s hoping the good work continues.

  5. I appreciate that all this is deliberately put out as distracting prolefeed, but there's something enjoyable about these vacuous pigs being shown to have as much class as a rat with a gold tooth and all the depth of a puddle.

  8. So, just so I'm clear, Vardy is suing for defamation of character and is having her character destroyed in court. Is that about the sum of it?

  9. Anyway, 3 clean sheets in a row, 7 points and a much clearer gameplan than anything we'd provided in the games before leave me feeling a wee bit more confident in Robinson going into the end of the season.

  13. I mean, it'll be Strachan picking the manager now and not Nelms. So instead of someone with no football mind picking it, it's someone with a football mind that's 20 years out of date who is picking it.

  15. Hi guys It took Sibbald a good 6-7 months to break into our team after leaving yourselves but once he did he was cracking. He's struggled a lot with injuries though which has been the downfall of him with us. Last season in the second half of the season he was debatably our best player. We've used him as a deep lying playmaker and as a LW. His best position for us was CM though, but a player who could beat a man and crunch into a tackle. It seems as though he added a bit of dig in his game with us. He managed to also gain a bit of pace in the last two seasons or so too, was painfully slow when he came to us originally but seemed to pull it out of nowhere recently pre-COVID. It sounds as though injuries and COVID had utterly fucked him though. He couldn't break into the team at all this season, had a bad injury where he had quite a few stiches in his ankle. He had COVID twice and also has asthma, he basically said himself that he struggles to run, came on as a sub for us and was done within 5-10 minutes. If he was likely to make a full recovery we'd have put a new deal in front of him but it sounds like Martindale isn't confident in him to get back to his best. I can genuinely see him ending up at someone like Dundee to push for the Championship next season. Although he has an emotional pull with you lot. If he was likely to regain his full fitness and previous ability I'd say he's comfortably a Premiership level player but if COVID/injuries are going to have a long lasting effect on him then I honestly don't know. I feel quite sorry for him as it felt like he was always on the verge of becoming a standout star for us but kept getting injured as he was picking up form.

  16. Celtic winning the league for the 10th time in 11 seasons might just be the greatest underdog story in the history of sport. How did they do it?

  17. Pretty sure there’s better ways to wind folk up than printing massive banners with the face of an actual racist. I’m not entirely sure that’s the aim either. There’s a section of Airdrie fans that can’t help but bring the club down and associate themselves with scum though.

  18. And what if Celtic and Rangers were replaced by say Tranent & Auchinleck Talbot? They are 2 clubs with a big support, so they would also bring large away crowds. On average, they wouldn't bring much less, likely more, than the OF B teams. And with these 2 clubs you'd at least keep the integrity of the pyramid.

  19. I've been about as negative as anyone the last 5 months so I think it's only fair that I point out a job well done. Say what you want about Alexander (and there has been a lot said) but he knows how to grind out results. It was his changes at half time that got us through last night. Fitbaw is a funny old game and part of the fun is how fickle we all are. Taking a step back, I don't think there was any real right and wrong here, in terms of opinion. The support has legitimate concerns about the team/management given the recent run of form and playing style. I don't think we should pretend everything in the garden is rosey but we should definitely enjoy this achievement and say fair fucks to Alexander and the players. I suppose the point I'm trying to make is I think some balance is required between 'Alexander out' versus 'the table doens't lie'. The truth is somewhere in the middle. Let's not pretend this season hasn't been shite but Alexander deserves his crack at Europe given what he has done on paper. I genuinely hope this can be a jumping off point for us to change the way we play and the some of the guys in the team. I know we have quite a few people nailed down on longer term deals but I would still like to see quite a few players moved on in the summer. As much as I may not sound it, I am buzzing for Europe. The thought of actually going away to the continent to see us play is amazing. I've never had the chance to see us away in Europe for a variety of different reasons so I am hoping we can get a decent trip to go to. Probably too early to say but I can mind someone used to do a website on potential opposition for all the UEFA competition would be interesting to see!

  20. From Pippa Crerar's twitter - it appears this relates to an "event" where Fat Boy wasn't present. Assuming the majority fined will be Civil Servants, can we take it that they will be dismissed for Gross Misconduct? Or were they possibly under the impression that their superiors were aware of the rules and decided they didn't apply, making disciplinary action more reasonably targetted upwards? Yours, an actual Key Worker who grafted my fucking arse off throughout the Pandemic and observed the fucking rules every fucking day. And never, ever, met up to "unwind" at the end of a day - what with having a family to get home to.

  25. An honest appraisal of where we are as a club. Hope the “lost” supporters can see past the embarrassing conveyor of BODS/people/players that have shamed us, and get back to purchasing STs and PATG.

  31. Some laugh that a little over a week ago this thread was red hot with the "there's a board meeting, Alexander's getting sacked" chat. B2B wins with a team held together by sellotape and that's European qualification confirmed. What a carry on eh?

  32. I think once of the biggest reasons we looked better last night was getting Hallberg higher up the pitch where he can use his running and size to get beyond players. He's much more effective there than being pushed wide, as it allows him the freedom to find gaps. The fact that we've persisted with Crawford and MacPherson there is even more infuriating, given how much more comfortable he looked. It also allowed Hendry and Middleton to press more from the front, as Hallberg is very good at the pressing side of the game. As a result we looked better back to front and more like the saints of old. Sure we've still got scoring issues and the system needs to be sorted, but there's signs that some of the players can still flourish. That being said, it took a mysterious injury for it to happen, so it's not like we can even credit the manager for the decision. It was pure luck on his part, but hopefully he learns from it.

  34. David Bingham gave me one of my favourite football moments ever. It was the day Marvin Andrews smashed Marvin Wilson and broke his jaw. Just after this Ayr had a corner at the Somerset road end and someone shouted “Marvin Andrews you’re a fucking animal” quickly followed by someone else shouting “David Bingham, you’re a cross between two animals”. Even Bingham laughed.

  38. West Calder United 2-5 Stoneyburn Attendance 75 That was a nice trip for a Wednesday night. Around 20 minutes, Stoneyburn took the lead, but West Calder equalised about a minute later. Around the 40th minute exactly the same happened so it was 2-2 at half time. Ten minutes in the second half the guests took the lead again. Midway through the second half, a West Calder player got booked and then kept moaning at the referee so he got a second. After that, Stoneyburn scored a fourth. Stoneyburn's sub goalkeeper (first GK went off injured) pulled off a good penalty save after which they scored a fifth. A very entertaining game for a neutral.
