  1. A small sample from a single page of start of the season (Walking Down the Halbeath Road p2152): Stellaboz : "Just give us the league trophy already" ShaggysBeard: "The squad now looks at the very least competitive with Kilmarnock, maybe even slightly better. Out wide and up front I think the squad is looking comfortably ahead of our rivals." 101 : "8/1 now seems mental price for us to win the league. Not saying it's guarantee but I would have thought 3/1 would have been much closer" DAFC : "Still think Kilmarnock will win it, but I'd be expecting to be pushing them all the way with that attacking line-up." Stoo61 : "To be completely honest, this is unfair now, absolutely strolling this league. Over by Christmas". Ramitbawdeep: "This is a well balanced squad. If we've not won the league before the clocks go back Grant has to go." HOW MANY MORE FROM THE USUAL POSTERS ON HERE WOULD YOU LIKE WOULD YOU LIKE? Raith_Raver, with the usual 7 red dots: "Great to hear the perennial bragging about how you're going to win the league before it's started, followed by the inevitable "get that c**t out" when reality strikes around January." With one of a dozen typical replies, eg Stellaboz: "You're not this thick. Are you? Seriously, you cannot be this stupid. If you're genuinely this stupid, I honestly feel sorry for you."

  4. Falkirk fans slagging off Yogi and Houston who were not only great players but great managers is incredibly sad, especially when you see what we've been served up on both playing and managing fronts in the last few years. And on the latapy front, one of the most gifted players I've watched, I remember several guys round me in the stadium frothing at the mouth because he was too slow, lazy and didn't track back! our fans continue to do it to this day. sometimes I think we deserve what we get utterly hacks me off legends getting slagged with the same old stuff.

  5. Fair fucks to all QP fans, it's bad enough supporting a team where the media is geared towards two teams, never mind being situated only a few miles from them both. Hope you pump Airdrie in the final.

  6. The effort from McHugh to create something out of nothing. The poachers instinct and finish from Murray. The reaction of the Dunfermline players. The reaction of Charlie Fox I'll cherish this goal forever.

  7. Any revisionism on Yogi is ridiculous tbh. I’m 23 years old, I’ve not seen anything better than what Hughes offered. It was exciting and progressive at the time. He might not be pulling trees up for other clubs but for us he was brilliant.

  10. The Manager of the Year should have done something remarkable. He's clearly done a very good job, recruited well, seems like an interesting guy, good for a soundbite blah blah - but what results has he actually achieved that show something special? Won the league cup - well done - beating St Johnstone, Raith Rovers, Hearts and Hibs along the way. Knocked out the Scottish Cup by the only team on their level. Any time he's come up against quality they've more or less failed. He's had five cracks at Rangers - beaten them twice. Real Betis at home was arguably the only 'good' European result - otherwise we've got defeats to Bodo/Glimt, AZ Alkmaar, Bayer Leverkusen, away to Real Betis. What's remarkable about any of this? If an old firm managers wins this award, given the gulf in finances it needs to be something special- an unbeaten league season fair enough, a treble winning season.... fine. But this? When there's a genuinely remarkable and unexpected story been told over at Arbroath - where they aim for survival and every point is truly earned, I do think it's a farce that Ange Postecoglou won both this and the PFA award over Dick Campbell. Utterly, utterly mind boggling.

  11. How long do the board think this will take? What plans do they have prepared for this outcome? What specific things are they going to do to achieve it & over what time periods? Brilliant! What are the plans? Which owners? How ambitious? How realistic at being successful? What are the consequences of those ambitions not being met? What disciplines and strategies? Do the board already have those skills? Do the board need help? Where do they plan on getting it from? In what ways to the board think the match day experience needs improved? What about outwith? Where are the weak points? Who, how and when do they believe these can be done? It seems odd that the middle of the boards strategy planning cycle falls at the end of a season. What plans need to be put in place now? Suggests that there a planning cycle and a separate seasonal planning that are separate from each other. Is that just a one off due to the ownership change or a long term cycle. How? Who is going to do that? Do the board believe they have the skills to achieve this? Do they have the say from the owners to allow them to? It appears most clubs had this a long time ago. Who instigated this purchase? The board? The manager? Are we going to be hiring a full time or part time data analyst professional to make use of this? Please don’t waste money on an app, please! Apps are dead. The time for an app was 10-15 years ago. Just make a good website that’s mobile first! You say groups, how many? What knowledge and experience are you looking for in each of these? What is each one focussing on? Is the outcome of them public? There are lots of funding opportunities from government to support physical and mental health, particularly in men. involving football clubs, this is what this is, right? In what way will the charitable trust flow money into the playing budget? It’s undoubtedly a good thing to do but I’m struggling to see the benefit to the first team beyond the idea that the wider community will see a benefit to the club in the community (which is very highly unlikely on any sort of measurable scale, in my opinion) without any of that openness, honesty and detail it’s hard to see this as anything but word salad. It’s not like it’s business sensitive detail to hind from competitors. If all these detailed plans exist there’s a number of people interested and willing to move mountains to make it happen - if the clarity and realism is there.

  15. Manager comes in, has a look where improvements need to be made, Spends as much as he can on players he already knows (which is far more than anyone else). Wins league by not a great distance. Just brush over the embarrassment in Europe. It's the stuff dreams are made of. Is there anything less interesting than Celtic getting awards for doing exactly what they should be doing and no more.

  16. I wish folk would stop pissing their pants at how difficult the league is going to be. These teams are hardly brilliant and this nonsense about 4th being a good achievement needs hit on the head. With good recruitment we have every chance.

  17. Holy shit! I've never experienced a game like that in over 50 years following the Mo and I don't think I ever will again. Gutting to lose like that but it cant be denied that Airdrie deserved that with their attacking flair & never say die attitude & I honestly don't think any other team would have recovered form a three goal defecit. Just wondered if any of the Airdrie posters on here were any of the fans who left early when Montrose scored their 3rd? Must be kicking themselves big time for missing that epic comeback. For god sake dont trip up against the QP bores, & best of luck in the Championship if you get there.

  21. Despite the bitter disappointment, it was a pleasure to have been at both games. The differences in emotions following football epitomised from both sets of fans. Even at half time yesterday I never thought the game was over. However, when our third went in I was beginning to look forward to a final next week. Credit where due, Airdrie have been the form team since the turn of the year and fully deserve the chance to go up. Wouldn't mind a wee trip to Hampden next season too. From our point of view, another great season comes to an end. We've been spoiled yet again and if we can keep the team together we can hopefully have another crack at it again next season. Best of luck to Airdrie in the final.

  24. We've no divine right to mount a coherent attack or have the odd shot at goal during a match. We drew with East Stirling once in front of 26 people at Muirton Park before going home for a dinner of gruel and rice pudding. You people don't know you are born.

  25. Feck me I'm shocked that Dunfermline had a bigger average attendance than us. I mean the likes of Kilmarnock, partick and Raith wouldn't bring more than the hoardes from cove and Montrose surely we had.

  27. Over the next week I want to see: confirmation that Hughes will not be in charge next season confirmation that there will be a *significant* overhaul of our first-team squad a statement from the club apologising for their failure this season a clear plan for how we are going to turn things around in the short and long term Also key; don't try any patronising shite about "taking this club back to where we deserve to be" - next season we will be a League 1 club and we deserve to be a League 1 club. If we get this wrong then, as shown by Falkirk, we could be down for a number of seasons.

  28. Just in from the game and the fact that the shonkiest juggernaut in the Top 6 is still on the road should be something we should all just drink in and enjoy. The very idea that 4th is still a remote possibility is mental. Thought the atmosphere in the away end was top notch yesterday - it always feels totally out of place in County's polite village football team vibe - and the local stewards and police were visibly aroused at having that to deal with. As it's been so long, I'd basically forgotten what it's like holding onto a 1-0 lead, I was shiting myself every time they went up. It might be sun going to my head but I quite fancy us to beat Hearts on Wednesday - I can think of a few end of season midweek games that turned out alright and I think this will be one of them.

  29. Have you… ever seen him interviewed after a defeat? He’s a complete walloper who takes everything out on the interviewer and the opposition for not just rolling over. You've fallen hook, line and sinker for the media narrative that he’s such a happy chappy.

  30. Main's overall performance yesterday was water and oil from what we saw earlier in the season. He was absolutely superb. His touch, his pace, his link up with Greive was all excellent. Looks like his season will be over as he's in for his scheduled ankle surgery on Thursday and you could see in the post match lap how much he was toiling to walk. A shift and a half from him.

  31. So very sad to see the score coming in today. Our demise has been coming for a while now. I’d planned on coming next Saturday but I just can’t face it to be honest. The town of Cowdenbeath just don’t deserve a team, even in the bottom league . I have some amazing memories of league wins and days in the championship, beating teams well above our level. For me, it’s time to let go. My Dad who supported Cowden and first took me to games is gone, my brother who came with us to games is gone and for me Cowden is gone from meaningful league football. . Thanks so very much for the memories. Billy Steele , Sumo, Craig Leveine ( now a dick ) , Armand One, The three paatelainenen’s, Helicopter dreams, Colin Cameron. We survived extinction, we thrashed the townies to stay up. So many happy and sad memories. Time to let go but thanks for everything and thanks to our great board and to Donald Findlay.
