  3. You honestly need to simmer down a wee bit. I get that you're anxious about it but this level of fatalism when it comes to all out nuclear Armageddon is honestly just a bit misplaced. You'll still be here in 5 years time lamenting St. Johnstone being stuck in the championship, don't worry about that.

  4. From scratch? [emoji23] Aye apart from having Darren Jameison, Dougie Hill, Tam Reilly, Nathan Austin, Kallum Higginbotham, Michael Tidser and Tam O’Ware as part of his squad when he took over. Having comfortably the biggest budget in the league and getting a bit fortunate with Joe Cardle staying 5 minutes away. Aye you’re right completely from scratch. Barry Ferguson would’ve won that league with Kelty ffs.

  5. Well done to Ayr, an excellent result and performance for them. They were everything we weren’t, organised, defended pretty well, a real handful going forward and pretty clinical with their chances. With Ashford, Adeloye, Murdoch, McInroy, Muirhead and McAdams they have enough about them down the spine of the team to avoid the drop. Also fair play to Lee Bullen, he had obviously done his research, noticed our weakness down our left hand side and brutally exposed it time and time again. Liam Dick was hopeless and rightfully subbed. The fact that Mackie was already stripped and ready to come on at 2-0 and whilst he was waiting Dick got done again for the 3rd says it all. However, I do have a degree of sympathy because he received no help from Ethan Ross who was constantly losing the ball in bad areas or failing to track runners. It should also be said Mackie was equally poor when he came on and doesn’t look like the answer long term to our left back issues. The Ayr front two caused all sorts of bother, not seen Berra bullied like that all season, he was dreadful. That was the Berra I feared we were getting when we signed him rather than excellent and consistent performer we have had. Hopefully just an off day possibly from 3 games in a week at his age but he’s been a little off it since he returned from injury IMO. I feel like we really miss the pace of Tom Lang in the centre of defence but Bene and Berra proved at the start of the season they can be a solid enough pairing so hopefully today was a one off. The blame for the result is mostly on the shambles of a defensive display but once again we wasted several good openings and we don’t have a single number 9 who offers enough. We’ve only scored in 1 of our last 6 games now so problems at both ends of the park. On to John McGlynn, you will struggle to find a bigger fan of his than myself but he could have no complaints if he was sacked this week. He’s been a fantastic manager for this club and that credit in the bank is the only reason he is still here. If you combine the Goodwillie debacle with no league wins in 11 and a 4-0 home defeat to a side that started the day in 8th, I don’t think any other manager could survive that. 11 games without a league win equals the worst run the Claude Anelka built side of 04/05 managed. The board should be starting to put the feelers out for a potential replacement. The sentimental side of me would like to see McGlynn get the cup final but if we don’t get a positive result in the next couple of weeks, I don’t think that’s possible, as much as it pains me to say. Obviously, the board may not want to pay him off with just a few months of his contract left (added to the other expensive pay off they are working on…) but the thought of writing off a season where we are still only 1 point off a play off place and in a cup final just because we should have enough points on the board to not get dragged into relegation trouble doesn’t sit right with me. If McGlynn can’t turn it around, which is very much looking the case, we need to bring is someone that can. The season is still very salvageable at this stage and a new manager getting a couple of months to asses the squad and build momentum and positivity around the club going into next season could be very important.

  6. Your posts depress me..... Cheer up.... Smile and just enjoy the good times.... I have thought this for a while.... We just won 4-0 and ure saying we were disjointed and giving you flashbacks of when Hopkin was gaffer..... Jeezo..... I accept we are still in a relegation scrap but we are night and day a better team now. If Duffy or Hopkin were still here we WOULD be bottom by a country mile..... Positivity breeds positivity.... After all....... So..... Cheer up... Lol

  8. Forgot to say yesterday, that was some performance from Houston. He took a lot of stick last weekend after a very poor showing. I think I had said on here that I didn't think he was near good enough to be a championship starter, but if he continues to play like he did yesterday we will have no problems.

  10. Didn't know that about him. What is it with Tories also being "pull the ladder up behind you" types. Him, Patel and Javid's parents all arrived in the UK when we were "global Britain" and the three of them have played a huge part in turning us into an insular hell hole. You would think they would have more compassion but it seems the opposite it true.

  11. Patently not true. He has gone 3-5-2/5-3-2. What worked since turn of year was 4-2-3-1. He introduced Curtis Main to utter ineffectiveness in the last two matches. He brings on Brophy who he then stuck on the right wing for some fucking reason. I'm willing to give him a chance and then some. The fact that some folk are unhappy with him after 3 matches, 2 of which were against 2 of the 3 best teams in the country is just silly but he certainly cannot hide behind the excuse that he was not changing a formula, as anyone who watched St. Mirren regularly before and after the turn of the year will quickly call that out as a load of shite.

  19. I've made my feelings on the manager pretty clear. I agree with what @thisGRAEME says - the players are better than what the managers tactics are allowing them to be. What I don't understand, and will never understand, is why Motherwell fans will boo and shout abuse at certain players during the game. Why do it? What is wrong in their own life that they think shouting abuse at an individual trying to their job, whether it's good or bad, is acceptable? For those that do it, how on earth do you think booing a player, causing his confidence to go through the floor during a game, is going to help Motherwell turn things around? Does anyone come up and scream in your face when you're having a bad day at work? Do you pelt abuse at the boy in Asda for giving you the wrong change? All of it is counter productive. If you're not happy with the performance/result? Boo yer nut off at half time and/or full time. It's 2022, there's plenty of ways to get your feelings across to the football club if you're not happy. Screaming abuse at someone, in the team you fucking support, for not meeting a standard is the behaviour of a deeply sad and angry individual. The stuff being aimed towards SOD yesterday was a disgrace. There was some c**t behind me in the East Stand yesterday who booed him when he received a pass yesterday. Fucking behave yourself. SOD's performances haven't been good enough for Motherwell. That's clear, and I'm sure even the player himself will tell you that. But what's the plan here? Try and bully him out the door? A lovely thought that. The players are already not happy during the week at their work. It appears they are being told to try and not lose a game, as opposed to trying to win it. If someone is able to tell me how abusing your own players is going to get them to improve their performances, I'm all ears.

  20. There's a number of them staying quiet and waiting for someone else to fight the argument, then they jump in with their green dots in support. They're all cowards. You'll note they're on asking folk to go and challenge them to their faces, when they know they've got another 40 rape apologists there to back them up but barely any of them want to have the debate on here.

  21. Fantastic amount raised and well done to everyone who donated . one of the Glasgow branch was actually asked by the club to help coordinate this appeal and did so. With numerous branch members also contributing generously to the fund. Some of the work the branch have done in the last few months include organising a food bank at Clydebank with another a work in progress in a few weeks time at Broadwood, making donations to the club with a survival fund also been created a few weeks back given to the club at the end of the season. And helping Danny and the staff out with new laptop needed for match analysis and team prep. The supporters branch and people in general too can do good things without coming out public with it all.

  23. This is now I've felt for the majority of this season to be honest. The only time I've ever really worried about the club/ games etc. outside of a Saturday was during those times where we could have dropped out the league altogether. That would've completely and utterly fucked us. The pressure was immense, and our core support that went through those times know the meaning of pressure. Being in a title race with a 'big' team like Kilmarnock in the second tier, and watching other bigger and far more established clubs scramble around trying to work out what to do while we continue to grind out results week in week out isn't pressure. It's fucking hilarious Whatever happens from here I'm so immensely proud of everything we've done on and off the pitch over the past few years, and come May whatever happens I'll still feel that way. If Kilmarnock don't win the league, they'll all be absolutely gutted, and also hugely embarrassed if it's to ourselves.

  24. Only if you have full control of the budget. Our next manager won't, as 13 players (likely more than half the squad) are tied up and probably can't be released without spending more money to buy them out. Virtually everyone who arrived last summer got at least a two year deal. The only exceptions were the three young lads who signed from the fledgling development squad and Ompreon. From the gametime they've been given, it could be assumed that Rennie would like to jettison virtually all those signings from last summer. After all, only McGuffie & Williamson have been first picks under him. Judging by the recent BOD statement, next season will see us on a reduced budget. The manager will likely have less than half of it to spend, with the remainder tied up in players he (speculation) probably doesn't want. His job is nowhere near as easy as you repeatedly make it out to be.

  26. Game 2 - FC United of Manchester 10-0 AKS Zly Didn't follow the North West hoppers games but instead went onto Moston for my second game of the day. FCUM Vs a Polish outfit in the Fenix Trophy. A European Cup of sorts for fan built clubs around the continent. Always going to get different standards of quality in a tournament like this and the lads from Poland weren't much better than a Sunday league team. United 7-0 at half time and even after half an hour were taking the foot off the gas. Passing amongst each other when clear through on goal etc. It was all played in great spirits tbf, the United crowd booing their own team, and cheering on visiting attacks. Chants of "Poland's No1" rang out when the Zly goalie made a good double save. The Polish swapped keepers at half time and the keeper ended up in full kit in the United terrace, downing pints and having his name chanted and pogoing away with the home fans. Good fun afternoon despite the no-contest, it was something different! 1,255 in attendance and the United fans seem to have a Main Stand Vs Terracing good-spirited battle going on amongst themselves. Each having their own songbook and taunting each other throughout the game.

  30. Interesting take thought Bronsky was a bombscare and didn't think Sons threatened much other than start of 2nd half when thwarted by 2 excellent Ferrie saves Peter Grant strolled it and won everything in the air and also thought Thomson had a very solid game. I know I'm in the minority but think there's a player in there he did a lot of good defensive work. Also credit where credit's due full songbook from our vocal section today some new tunes to me and a fine rendition of Enjoy Yourself [emoji445][emoji122]

  31. If it’s the case, which is seems to be, that our budget is smaller next season why the absolute f**k did someone agree to pay thousands for Griffiths? Surely that money could have just been kept and put this next season’s budget? As was said at the time, you could have Ronaldo in our team but if you don’t sort the midfield it wouldn’t matter a jot. We’ve wasted thousands on Griffiths.

  33. We need to work out a way to keep a hold of the football. We are making it too hard for ourselves. We’re perfectly capable too but we need to look to actively start doing that more often, if that means rolling it back to Gaston more or whatever so be it but we cannot continue to just lump it when we get it, just ends up with it consistently coming back at us

  39. I'm really surprised how bleak some folk are being on here. We've won 3 of our last 4 league games. That's as good as anyone in the division. And at least 2 of these games involved winning in places we've not won in fucking donkey years. The team are playing well and confidence is high. Being an ayr fan gives us plenty of opportunities to be pessimistic about football - so let's not do it needlessly.
