We will beat East Fife on Saturday. We are now creating chances, against Dumbarton we scored 6 and could have had 10, against Airdrie we scored 2 and could have had 5. Even allowing for our honking defence we will out score East Fife. A long, long way to go but we are definitely more competitive than we were under Sheerin. Fourth place is very much achievable and we should be going all out to make the playoffs. Giving up on half a season is silly talk.14 points

Morgaro Gomis was able to stand out regularly despite not having the engine for 90 minutes. The idea that Liam Craig cant bring something to the table in this league is mental.13 points

I'm still reeling from Dundee United nicking Jake Doyle Hayes from us: it'd be too much to take to see him and McGrath lining up together for United.12 points

He has one main attribute we lack more than any other and that is leadership quality. He will not put up with slackers and will shout and bawl at anyone he thinks is not pulling their weight. Proper captain material unlike hetherington etc.11 points

The BBC is more than just the News which some people fail to see That’s another public service gone thanks to the Tory and you can guess who will benefit from its disappearance… I’ll give you a hint it won’t be the likes of you and me11 points

Using the Turnbull-Blyth scale in measuring warmth of player leaving statements - that one ranks around a Gallagher. Take from that what you will.10 points

Absolutely fantastic to get the win here, What a season we are having Smokies, Living the dream, Imo Raith Rovers are still the best side we have faced this season and would love them to come up with us too if it magically were to happen, Great ground which always holds special memories for me for numerous reasons, Brilliant fans and like us a really well run family club that looks after the community and fans, Would be great to see Lewis Vaughn back and for all his bad luck play in the Premiership and fufill a dream, All the best for the rest of the season Rovers. Whole team was magnificent today but Nicky Low bossed the midfield and was MOTM for me Like signing a new player that he is back that we already knew would be class Magic10 points

Interesting distinction when they are being lifted as they clearly don't want to say they are removing "protection" as that has connotations of somehow putting folk at risk yet it's the opposite when they are being instated. Pretty disingenuous.9 points

Correct. The coffee is a quid ever heard the saying you get what you pay for. Personally I go for the Bovril. Next you will being saying there was too much pepper in your pie . I think your comments are unfair on two hard working teams that are struggling with a whole host of issues such as covid and Injuries. Not to mention the problems with attracting top players due to thier budget and geographical locations. If the game had been 0-0 I could see your point but there was plenty on offer in terms of entertainment. It's hard enough attracting folk through the door without folk coming on and saying how shite we are. Enjoy your prawn sandwiches next week at the Etihad8 points

We had our chance with Allan and he sat on the bench the majority of the time under McCann. Certainly know how to f**k players off (Johnson, Cummings, Wright) who are good players. Allan is the type of player who should've been utilised for years to come at our club. If we don't sign at least a few defenders this week, we're going down. The weak spots in our squad are continually left, window after window. McPake has until the end of January to bring in at least three players (two at the back) or he really is proving why he's not capable to take us forward long term. If we win at Livi people will ask where the 'boo boys' are but i'll make it clear now: whether we win the next ten in a row or not, we have to improve our manager and coaching staff at this club to push us on. Thank you.8 points

I think Monkey Tennis is providing a stellar service in this thread. I was having trouble sleeping 2 or 3 nights back. Opened up this thread on my phone, read a few of MT's posts and I dozed off so quickly my phone smacked me in the melt. Slept like a baby albeit with the bridge of my nose a wee bit sore. Cheers MT for being so spectacularly boring.8 points

Can't say this too often. If there are dodgy looking symptoms - get them checked out. Don't fall for the "too embarrassed"/"I'll be nothing"/"I'll leave it to see how it goes" crap. Don't end up as a name on this thread. If you get the bowel screening kit, get your crap sample sent off to Dundee asap (and who doesn't like sending crap to Dundee?). The guys there are heroes. Breast screening, cervical screening, whatever screening. Do it. The earlier it's spotted the easier it's dealt with and the lesser the treatments. A camera or finger up the back passage is actually the easy option. It's you choice in the end. Just don't leave until it is the end. Please.8 points

Very sorry to pass on the news of the death of the one time regular poster SJC. Scott had a long battle with cancer and despite a poor prognosis remained positive and active. Scott who have moved to Japan came home recently and leaves behind his wife and young daughter. Rip.8 points

We weren't far off Airdrie mind you on Saturday. It wasn't as if they were streets ahead. 3 or 4 decent players and you could be turning results like that around. At the end of the day It doesn't matter if you come 20 points behind the team in 2nd as the playoffs are a clean slate. If you are taking form into them though it makes a big difference. Whoever comes second bottom of the champ will be in poor form and low in confidence that's why they ended up there. We make 4th place on a wee run of form and you've got as good a chance as any of the 4 playoff sides. We'd play the second bottom side first let's not forget and then the winner of 2nd v 3rd. It's not the top flight playoffs.7 points

Why are there posters on here seriously discussing the possibility of Leigh Griffiths joining us? Even worse, writing him off completely as not being up to a job in the third tier, not good enough for a club that boasts talent such as Brad McKay and Ben Hall….. What next on here? It would appear that WM are planning on going ahead with this as originally leaked prior to Omicron. This is great news as it quite literally pulls the rug from under NS's feet and forces her to start thinking about manouvering out of the corner she has painted herself into. As an aside, Helen Lovejoy just popped up as a pointless answer on Pointless. Clearly no P&Bers were involved in the survey process for that!6 points

A guy who was part of a team that won two cups, was at the top end of the Premiership and played in Europe isn’t good enough for third tier Falkirk? Again, Messi isn’t available (and you probably think he’s too old and slow now too)…..[emoji3]6 points

I think we can extend this laissez faire approach to save taxpayers money in other areas: Let's get the Royals sponsorship and do away with the Civil list. "Her Majesty, sponsored by Saga Holidays, and wearing the Crown, sponsored by Ramsdens, today opened Parliament". OK so Randy Andy might end up being the equivalent of the third choice keeper who doesn't get his kit sponsored but that's too bad. Similarly we spunk billions on the professional armed forces. As they're recognised to be one of the best in the world let's turn them into mercenaries. OK you might worry about the British Army getting hired by some dodgy regimes but we're quite happy to sell bombs to Saudi Arabia to drop on Yemen, no questions asked, so it's just extending this a bit further. And a privatised army is less likely to get ripped off in terms of defence contracts. "Sorry VSEL but I've got a bloke in India reckons he could knock up a nuclear submarine at half the price.." In the Second World War towns would raise funds and buy their own Spitfire. I propose to do the same thing for renewal of Trident. Towns and Cities will have a fundraising drive to purchase their own missile. Auchinleck and Cumnock will be excluded lest they use their missiles on each other. Similarly go back to the 19th Century and abolish MPs pay and pensions. The Tories all have directorships, Labour can be in the pay of the Unions, the Lib Dems can have a jumble sale, the Shinners don't sit in Parliament anyway so save money that way, the SNP could sell moonshine whisky to gullible tourists, Plaid could have a whip round at the Eisteddfod, the DUP can put round the bowler hat at those picturesque traditional summer walks they like, and Caroline Lucas can sell vegan ice-cream on Brighton Pier at weekends. Simple solutions for a happier Britain.6 points

Fair play to Lowrie83 for puting your head above the parapet. I dont think you are "in the idiot camp" as you are intitled to your opinion regardless of whom agrees with it. I dont think anyone can argue that the PR prior to and following Mackays appointment was shambolic - but why wouldnt it be? At RCFC we have along history of either not bothering with PR or simply ignoring it. I cant figure out which. Had a properly prepared unvileing of Mackay been aranged, complete with a heartfelt apology for past mistakes, a contrite manager and an admission that lessons must be learnt then it would have been a much easier pill to swallow for a lot of folk. Are we surprised it wasnt done this way? No - Roy Macgregor has never been to kinda guy to lie in bed worrying about who he's hired of fired that day. You do not go from working at an oil yard to owning the oil yard without that mentaltity. Macgregor loves an underdog, he has history of giving guys second chances, giving them a leg up - Richie Hart being a prime example. There was mention of "doubling down" with the recent press statement. Again, complete lack of PR but at this point in proceedings would you really expect a Chairman not to back his manager? It was double down, or say nothing. We all know the latter wouldve been best, but Macgregor is backing his man should we be surprised. There are two wide ranging racism investigations ongoing in Scottish cricket just now off the back of the Yorkshire CC scandal. Raffiq was termed an "elephant washer", told to "sit in the corner with your type" and forced to drink alcohol. In Scotland players were allegedly not selected due to their race, were marginalised, were treated unfairly. The Running out Racism and the SG funded SportScotland investigation are going to uncover some truths that will make text messages seem like a walk in the park. I firmly believe cricket is the test case, football may likely next, and I would be surprised if Rugby didnt have some questions to answer, and so on. All very well but whats my point.... However uncomfortable as it may seem, like all henious injustices in our world, racism has levels of depravitity. There is such a thing as racism by association, and I can see why a supproter will feel vulnerable to that. Segregating players in the dressing room, not signing or selecting them because of their background is the sharp end of it in sport. I believe in second chances, and thats why I am attending County matches, and will not change my profile club to Clach or Brora or other such virtue signalling. People change and must be allowed to chnage. Back to cricket (sorry) the outfall from the Raffiq affair will not castigate those cricket Clubs, board members, players forever, but they will have to dam sure learn from it. As I believe, or hope, Malky Mackay has.6 points
