  1. Not sure I follow you entirely. My position is that unless you are showing symptoms of covid, you should neither test nor isolate under any circumstances. It could be argued that this puts people at risk but people are at risk now because staff are off so there isn't a unicorn option. A guy died in Nottingham Hospital after waiting 9 hours to be seen for a heart attack. There are stories like this up and down the country. A bit less idealism and a bit more pragmatism is needed here from our leaders. This idealistic "nobody is allowed to die from covid" strategy simply needs to stop. It's killing people. People are going to die either way. The quicker our leaders accept that the better for all of us.

  2. And that is the fundamental question here isn’t it? Should the government have the ability to turn “protections” on and off at the drop of a hat ad infinitum based on things that ‘could happen’? That’s not what I think their job is, tbh.

  5. Yes this was BECAUSE of restrictions forcing asymptomatic people and those who were close contacts to isolate, not because of covid. You are getting cause and effect the wrong way round. All of that was on Sturgeon. All of it.

  6. 12 games and 4 goals for Ruth in the league so 1 in every 3 games. Keena's 5 goals in 19 games so basically 1 in every 4 games then Dowds is 8 goals in 18 games thanks to his hatrick at the weekend. Ruth's only just turned 20 and is a lot better than what people on here give him credit for. Be interesting to see what Rennie thinks of him or even how he performs with a partner like Dowds upfront.

  8. This. You don't test to see if you have any other Coronavirus so why test for this one of you don't have symptoms. More lives will be saved by getting back to normal and detecting cancer at stage 1 and not stage 4 for example. The only health emergency we have now is one of our own making.

  12. With the amount of money he's put in so far he can be forgiven a bit of that. Just as long as it doesn't become a yearly thing I honestly can't see any problem, the guy has put his money where his mouth is and is taking our club forward. Why is that seen as some sort of negative ??

  13. They lifted it straight out of the governments own evidence paper. They literally gave the media carte blanche to distribute that information to the masses via any outlet they wanted to. You can't blame the media when its the governments own published numbers. There is no defence here. None at all. The government got themselves in a big flap, tried to scare everyone and fired in some restrictions. they then played the "bad Tories" line because Boris didn't buckle under and start throwing money at them so they could fire in even more restrictions (as it was stated many times that they wanted to do). Boris took the right action (probably for the wrong reasons) and thank christ he did otherwise we'd be back to 2020 lockdowns again and months away from having any kind of exit.

  17. For me with Sturgeon it's the condescending, arrogant attitude she gives everytime shes questioned she genuinely gives of a "how dare you question me" attitude everytime someone asks her any question that isn't entirely to her approval. I'm not sure if it's a new thing or if it's just become way more evident during the pandemic, the eye rolling and the looks she gives some of the journalist is childish and pathetic.

  18. I delivered a paper on my run one morning to Mr McLeod, with my Ayr Scarf on. He came out for his paper and spoke away to me for a good ten minutes about the Ayr team, who my favourite was and so on, before handing me a twenty pound note and had a big smile on his face in doing so. Went home and told my paps, I hadn't a clue who he was never even thought to put 2 and 2 together After I was informed, going to his door felt like going to Buckingham palace

  19. Johnson will absolutely brass this out. At worst he will suffer a temporary dip in the polls. Tory voters are a deeply unpleasant collection of sycophant, cucks and bigots. Indeed most of these losers would happily welcome Bojo into their homes to pump their wives and probably hand him a towel and a nice cup of tea afterwards. It doesn't help of course that Labour are led by a man with less charisma than a kitchen worktop who is as likely to score a series of own goals that would make Frank Sinclair blush as he is to land any significant blows on Johnson. The Conservative government are openly taking the utter piss out of the electorate but a few well placed dog whistles at "wokeism" and brown people in dinghies will see them home again next time round. What a time to be alive.

  23. Exactly, we should ALL be pulling together and getting behind our team and new Manager rather than try to hunt for negatives at the very time things are starting to look good for a change !! We've got a new Bar and Social club just opened, we've a new club shop and offices, we've just appointed a highly regarded MD / CEO and a highly regarded recruitment chief. More importantly our newly appointed Head Coach seems to be a very astute appointment, he's sharp, articulate, outgoing, very well liked and respected and seems to have great contacts in the game. We've won our last 2 games and we're looking to add quality to our squad, honestly I'd say there's every reason to be happy / excited about the future as opposed to looking out for negatives or perceived negatives where none exist !!!

  25. A tsunami, for almost all generations alive atm evokes one thing only. Death and destruction on a horrific scale. What we got was a few more cases driven by the increased transmissibility of a variant that South Africa were telling everyone who would listen (we wouldn't) was significantly less dangerous and unlikely to cause any problems whatsoever. It was horrendous use of language, and was used in the context of having one eye on Johnson not funding further restrictions, hoping that it would all come back to bite him and she would score some points. The opposite has happened of course.

  26. Glorious, a genuine no win situation for the sweaty nonce. Either: 1) public humiliation in a cross examination, or 2) an out of court settlement costing millions and finishing what's left of his tawdry reputation. Option 2 should also ensure plenty of hard questions about the future of the royal parasites given that the public will essentially be paying out millions to avoid the Queen being too embarrassed by her paedophile son. 31. You misunderstand the purpose of the conservative party. When the state is used to support capital it needs to be big. Personal liberty is only important when it concerns the freedom to serve capital's interests. And tax isn't high. It is higher than it was but historically and compared to the OECD it is on the low side of normal. Good to hear that Tories aren't happy though. That's always music to the ears.

  33. I was more than a little anxious after checking the weather forecast last night and learning that, with the windchill, it would feel like -27c this morning, since my daughter insists that she comes out with me when I take the dog out and I like to let my wife have a lie in in the mornings. The danger of frostbite is very real in those temperatures. Thankfully lots of layers and some Vaseline on her cheeks, combined with our dog decided to get straight to business, meant it went a lot smoother than I thought it would. Here is Isla saying "off" , as soon as we get back indoors so wants off all her outerwear as soon as possible.

  35. To me a Tsunami of cases would have led to significant structural damage to the health and economy of the country in an equivalent manner to the 2004 Indonesian disaster. What we have seen over the past month has been a big wave landing on Ayr beach and nothing worthy of the drama and scare mongering from people who really should know better than to be constantly pedalling fear and alarm.
