  1. What was your favourite moment in sport captured by the camera in 2021? Here's one to get things going -

  2. 'People shouldn't criticise elected politicians unless they are personally willing to start a rival political party' seems like a good and sensible take.

  4. Looks like that’s it for this year ( definitely for me ) , hope everyone has a good new year when it comes , look forward to the eruptions here early next week if it’s not who you were hoping for , whoever it is will not be everyone’s cup of tea but here’s to us consolidating ourselves in the Championship for another season

  5. On paper none of that is too wild but it's a bit of a brass neck complaining about not getting a chance in the 4th best team in the country while signing for joint bottom of the Championship.

  6. A point I made to my MSP. My wife and have had our two jabs plus the booster as well as a flu jab as dictated by the SG and perhaps SAGE. Thank you very much, Fife NHS and my surgery. We do appreciate that there is still much diminished chance of positive exposure - we are both in our mid eighties with underlying health problems. For us however, life is now too short to put up with the heavy handed panicked response. Both the politicians making the decisions and the "science" are now close to completely losing all credibilty and trust.

  7. Remember that time the league finished but Hearts refused to accept that it was finished, only to go to court and be told it was finished. That was fun, I liked that bit.

  8. A pandemic and public health crisis should transcend politics. A view on restrictions is not left versus right wing; or SNP v Tory; or good v evil. Its really frustrating that everything is viewed through a political prism and that a huge chunk of the populace are so tribal in their outlook they seem to have lost the ability for original thought and to think critically.

  10. This is all getting "They Japs Aw look the same", which - to be honest - is very uncomfortable viewing. Please stop.

  11. I’m pretty glad it’s not Bartley to be honest as you insist on calling him Barkley

  12. Agreed. However, you'll struggle to find anywhere that handles the issue more tribally than here. Because I've been critical of some posting on this thread, I've been labelled a "God botherer", a defender of the current football restrictions and someone whose "patter" has somehow been defeated by the welcome fact that serious illness does not seem to be on the rise. None of it bears any relation to things I've said, but the accusations still fly, with lots of support from the usuals. This is the home of the tribal take.

  13. I've just picked up some recs, 8 pint cans of T and a succulent Chinese meal to see me through the bells. Hope each and every one of you enjoy your evening and all that life throws at us from here on out (however difficult). We are all in it together and we are the greatest online community on this Earth. Love and Peace.

  20. My frequent charismatic visitor has started posing for photos again, this time in front of the garden cam'. He's not getting to force his way into the house again though seeing as it takes an age to punt him back out the bloody door.

  21. The only hellishly poor decision made was making Ellis manager in the first place. I hold nothing against him personally and wish him the best going forward but it's been clear for a long time now he's not the man for us. Or are you happy with 8 wins in 26 games? And that's without diving into some of the games we've snatched draws from the jaws of victory. This is professional football, whether you like it or not, and it is a results driven business. Add in everything else being built around the club at this moment in time, and Haughey Dempster & co have clearly decided they cannot be seen to be toiling in the league given the resources we have. It will be interesting to see who is linked with us going forward. Wonder if Marijn will be opening up his address book...

  27. There are none Dawson, which is very dangerous. No matter how odious the Tories are, there will always be dissenters and free thinkers amongst them. Out of all the SNP MP’s and MSP’s, you would think there might be one who could think for themselves, but no. A cult like party run by a control freak. Not healthy but to be fair, very popular with the Scottish electorate.

  28. If anything, the chance of getting a ticket and then not getting one has scunnered me even more than if there was never any chance. I was really looking forward, with a healthy amount of trepidation, to seeing Hughes back at Stark's. Whatever happened, the atmosphere would've been quality. Him getting it tight trudging back up the touchline after a loss, or giving it the big 'un to an emptying South Stand after a win. Either way, it's the kind of stuff that makes football what it is. The lack of fans just takes away all the extremes. Whether we win or win lose, it won't mean as much, and it won't feel as important. I'll watch it on the stream and I'll be chuffed if we win or disappointed if we lose, but half an hour later I'll be doing something else.

  30. Was looking for something "classic" and settled on this. Have my eye on something a bit more special but a few years yet until I can justify the expense. This one was £164.

  32. There's a real lack of nuance when it comes to discussing this case. Too many people want to reduce it to a black and white "guilty" and "innocent" as if it's a case of mistaken identity. Like the two possible scenarios are that David Goodwillie is a rapist, or he was at home reading his bible. He's either 100% guilty or 100% not guilty. And that's just not the case. The facts of the case may not have met the appropriate threshold for a criminal conviction (because of the need for corroboration, such as I understand it), but there's much more information about the events of the night. The actions of David Goodwillie, as detailed in the civil case, are the actions of a deeply despicable person. Too many people are choosing to be wilfully ignorant. They're choosing to take the headline "not successfully prosecuted in criminal court" because the person in question can score goals, without taking on board the additional information available. The justice system has to stick by very specific rules and standards. That's the best set of guidelines we have to keep all of us safe, both as victims and potentially as suspects of crime. But the rest of us aren't bound by that. We can take the information that's in the public domain and reach our own conclusions. It's deeply, deeply depressing that so many people are willing to go to bat for despicable scum like David Goodwillie just because he's good at football.

  33. It’s his 80th birthday and he represented our club around 100 times. We should have had enough respect to mention it on social media.

  34. My sources tell me Graeme Mathie has shat it after reading this forum and is away to beg Jack Ross to take a picture holding an Ayr scarf above his head. Martin Canning is currently standing in the Somerset car park, very confused, after club employees pretend not to know who he is.
