  2. Only stating the obvious but what an asset RaithTV are to the club. For a group of volunteers the commitment to follow the club around the country, having the highlights ready for midnight after every game and the sheer quality of the output is exemplary.

  5. 21months ago we were plunged into measures designed to ‘Help prevent the NHS from being overwhelmed’. Here we are now where we’ve continually been under these restrictions ranging from mild to severe implications on our lives and health (most importantly mental health) from a virus with a very high survival rate, one we are now mostly all vaccinated for with 50% almost of the population (indeed those most vulnerable the ones with the highest level of morbidity, you know the ones that we were asked to stop doing x,y,z for (btw this is not me having a go at them)) actually triple vaccinated. What do we have now, well we have the aforementioned vaccines, we have 2 years experience in managing ill people with it in hospital, we have medicines which work to a staggeringly high degree of efficiency against the virus and prevent 89% of hospitalisation. We also have significant amounts of data on this and prior variants from other countries, showing us what happens in areas where they dont have this same level of mitigation (and indeed a massive proportion of the population immuno compromised from HIV) showing us that this isnt the killer strain they are making it out to be. But over the last 21 months, what has been done to expand NHS services to cope with future waves? Why hasnt capacity been increased? Why are we all having to make such significant sacrifices and those ill with other conditions subject to at best a reduced level of service and worst case scenario with cancer patients and suicidal individuals, having meaningful treatment withdrawn and been sent home to in essence die. The Scottish government has promised spending on all manner of wonderful things like bikes for everyone etc, but cmon wouldnt most of us agree we’d rather see that money put towards building more wards or employing CPN’s or nursing staff? Yet again we’ve all been told how naughty we are for wanting a normal life and how selfish we are if we want to see our friends or not feel lonely. But what we’ve never ever been told is, what is the end game? We’ve got pictures of Nicola doing the rounds with aged effects announcing level 77 in 2034, i know thats extreme, but at what point or stage are we able to look forward to this being over? Why havent they promised a review when we have yet more data showing mild disease in the main? Genuinely been promised that we’ll all be party to a conversation about this virus, but actually what happens is if you have a dissenting voice or even ask a question they don’t like you are publicly shamed and told how naughty you are. They ignored any evidence which didn’t suit the narrative, churches full of old people most likely to catch covid and die = ok batter on, football grounds in open spaces with 200/300 people standing around in the wind etc = horrible horrible people who must be punished, there are plenty other examples of rules being changed for one thing deemed worthy and there has been no ‘conversation’ to tell us why or indeed show us their working on it. Jason Leitch gets wheeled out as this figure we should all apparently listen to, but is actually an insufferable condescending arsehole who will answer questions from people at breaking point with faux jovial shite like ‘ill ask ‘the guys’’ but never actually give a meaningful answer backed up with any reasonable explanation. Then you’ve got idiots like Devi and Deepti, who absolutely demand you listen to them despite being wrong about so many things consistently and in some circumstances just flat out lying about things to keep themselves relevant. Im honestly at the point where I feel lowest about this entire thing now, everything we were told would ‘get us to normality’ has happened and its still not enough for them.

  9. Jesus f**k. NS just basically said she’d have shut down hospitality today if she had the money. If Independent, Scotland would be a terrifying nanny state at the moment.

  11. Give it a fucking rest. People are going to lose jobs and many are going to struggle with their mental health based on the guidance / restrictions today. If you can’t see that, and instead want to point score, you are not even worth engaging with.

  13. I think Sturgeon making fairly clear that, if she had it her way, she'd have SHUT DOWN an entire business. Something that gives a huge number of people social interaction, company, joy, as well as employment, despite 90% of population + having 2 doses of an effective vaccine, all vulnerable given a THIRD dose, 2 years after Covid was first in the country.....if anything, I've seen an under reaction at her words today.

  14. No, you are just sticking to type for Dundee. I really want to take the piss, but when you look at the few years Adam has had, you can understand why he is maybe doing something silly. Although, how anyone in 2021 ever thinks to get behind the wheel of a car after drinking is beyond me. Thankfully no one got hurt and maybe in the long run it may be a good thing for him. Plenty of examples in the Dundee dressing room of how not to live your lives off the pitch. Maybe that can be used as a force for good to some of the younger players and they can be used as examples. I hope if Charlie needs help he asks for it and people don't harass him and they give him whatever he needs.

  15. Its true though, these guidelines leave everything up in the air, they destroy confidence in fragile sectors who can’t now plan or forecast how much stock they’ll need, staffing levels or indeed if they’ll make it through this period, they have no fallback. They do this knowing essentially in government that they’ll not have to provide furlough cash despite effectively telling people to not use these businesses. Its actually a fucking disgusting set of circumstances. Im sure you’re probably a nice person, but essentially gloating here just isnt a great look. If you can’t see how much of a mess the SG is making then fair dos but it just looks pathetic when youre gloating, especially when you’ve got other posters unsure if they have a business/job/means to pay the bills/if they are still able to get married/worried about their mental health if they can’t socialise to name but a few of the concerns listed fairly recently.

  16. Holt should be absolutely nowhere near recruitment after his record so far. The guy failed miserably to manage to persuade one out of 14 strikers that Falkirk was the place to be. We're in a worse state now league wise so the chances of him persuading any half decent striker to join us in January must be nadda. He gave Brad Mackay a 3 year fecking contract. That should be a sacking offence never mind anything else. He then had the bloody temerity to stand up at the q and a and try and blow his own trumpet about the dreadful signings he'd made. Even nesbitt the one they crowed about then has gone completely off the boil. His laughable comment about Jaime Wilson having scored 4 goals showed he is completely out of touch with reality. He has zero contacts which is surely a must for a dof and we've missed out on numerous players from the likes of livie where you would think he should have a decent relationship and idea of the talent. If we want to waste money and have him solely involved in the youth set up then fine but I wouldn't let him near any more of our budget given the amount he's pissed down the drain so far in the two transfer windows he's been in place for.

  17. Surely the only effect of the teasing of restrictions, the rumours, the build-up to what is essentially a non-announcement is a massive amount of damage done to the mental health of people who are absolutely done in by the last 2 years.

  20. Perhaps the reaction on here speaks more to where we are, how our govt is leading, the impact of their acts/ommissions/words on people though. I know your not playing the "MOONHOWLERS!!!! THREADS A CAR CRASH!!!! card here, but I have long found the general reaction to folk venting their spleen on here quite odd. I dont work in hospitality, and I use it less than I would like. I spent the last 24 hours in a rather odd state of anxiety because Yusaf was giving it that restrictions were inevitable all over the media then refusing to tell folk what it is. I think the reaction on here is largely what I would expect for a group of people probably disproportionately skewed towards being customers of football and pubs.... Two demographics that have been treated like shite throughout.

  21. Hope you're okay pal. Just do your own thing and don't worry about new restrictions. I pop in this thread now and again but I've largely ignored all news on it and just carried on with my life - it made a huge difference for my mental health.

  22. Very hard year for Adam and despite drink driving not being an excuse, who knows what the situation is. He's certainly been doing the business on the pitch lately. Take your punishment and move on Charlie, learning from this as we all do going through life. A shout out to all the DAB and Celtic wanks who can only get a hit out someone else's situation - you're a bunch of fucking sad acts. Half these morons will obviously have never done any wrong in their lives. Get a life you fuds. Thank you.

Good to see town finally realising that and getting behind the team, the good results help of course but Gayfield definitely somewhere you get the bug for. Very encouraging seeing all the bairns and younger fans on the terracing decked out in their gear. Fans for life

  27. I'm looking forward to seeing how this goes. Glass, Courts and Maloney are all the kind of wacky appointments neutrals should enjoy. Even Postecoglou to a lesser extent. You can't blame Maloney for wanting to upgrade from De Bruyne to Gogic either.

  29. I know you're joking but he definitely takes on a lot. Kane Hemmings credits McPake as the manager that helped him get help for his depression after he broke down in front of him. McPake is a pretty damn poor manager but he's been excellent with his people management since he joined the club. Certainly better than the likes of McCann, McIntyre, Bomber & Hartley before him all of whom had questionable people skills.

  37. Any truth to any of the chat that David Goodwillie as a potential signing was a hot topic of discussion last night? If Falkirk sign Goodwillie I will be sending back my half season ticket and won't be at another game home or away until he's gone. I'd probably even struggle after that if it was the same board in place who thought that signing was in any way acceptable. I'd rather lose every week for ten years than have him playing for the club I support, representing our fanbase and community. If this isn't someone winding me up and this is even being discussed as an option then I'm losing faith in the new regime already.

  39. Firstly, thank you to @Marshmallo for starting this thread. Just an unrivalled commitment to improving forum experiences, not just for himself, for everyone. Shout out to all the hibs boys (except Glenn Minter obvs), especially @Genuine Hibs Fan and @HibsFan Comrade @NotThePars alongside myself the only ideologically correct poster on this website. VT for continuing to boil incredible amounts of piss in other posters. (Insert Ainsley Harriot meme) The fantasy golf league lads, you know who you are. (2022 season starting soon btw if anybody wants to join, keep an eye on the golf thread) @Frank Grimes for running the chess thread. @Detournement no other poster can go from the sublime to the ridiculous like he does. The FM posters, particularly @oneteaminglasgow and @AsimButtHitsASix Next a rambling list of those whose contributions I enjoy for footballing and non footballing reasons @Barry Ferguson's Hat @Dunning1874 @The Moonster @Day of the Lords @craigkillie @Mark Connolly @renton @SlipperyP @Mr. Alli @accies1874 @invergowrie arab @YassinMoutaouakil @throbber @Dons_1988 @Sergeant Wilson @Tynie Mell @Richey Edwards @Salvo Montalbano and there's others too, but that's plenty. And finally have any P&B'ers ever mentioned @ICTChrison a poster appreciation thread ? (ha ha see what I did there ?)

  40. I know I will miss some folk out here, but here we go. @Jacksgranda - the Lazarus award winner, surely. If no such award exists, it should be created. @Sergeant Wilson takes the piss in a way I appreciate. Even when I am the recipient. @oaksoft - the only poster to directly insult me all year. Had some fun debates and arguments with him, all of which he has lost. @BFTD - he still lives in Alloa. The man has durability. Also when I see posts by @NotThePars @ICTChris @The Moonster @thistledo @EvilScotsman @SlipperyP @Day of the Lords @tamthebam @welshbairn @Bairnardo @virginton I make a point of reading. And for services to the Falkirk thread @Shadwell Dog @Back Post Misses @Grangemouth Bairn @Duncan Freemason @Marshmallo keeps us all honest.

  43. Remind Laughing Gravie that Terry Christie won two promotions at Alloa and also won the challenge cup. A terrific Alloa manager and you seem to be obsessed with Max Christie some 20 plus years later . The guy was decent for us in a great team . Don't try to rewrite history. Some memorable days supporting Alloa then . Furthermore Peter Grant had us playing some terrific football pre-lockdown and give credit where it's due . I saw Us absolutely destroy Inverness at the recs just before closure. Last season we took points of Dundee and Hearts and knocked hearts out of the league cup . Hardly a disaster in a curtailed season . Grant had us playing excellent football albeit the team needed strengething. We ran with 16 players last season . We have 24 now - a much bigger budget and we are certainly not the better for it .
