  2. Apologise for my lack of taste. I have worked closely for 40 years with people suffering from all kinds of addiction and mental health issues and at times taken it home with me sadly. No offence meant as I know more than most what mental illness and addiction can cause. Sometimes humour and self reflection is a great panacea. Sorry

  4. Wouldn't it be nice if one, just one, Falkirk fan could find it in him to say " well done Queen's, you completely outplayed us and fully deserved your victory"? Come on, try.

  5. Took in the game today with my son who is 9. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed it. First half Clyde were absolutely horrendous and could easily have been more than 2 down due to a severe lack of defensive know how, and effort it seemed. The Penalty on half time gave them a route back into the game they didn't really deserve. Second half and Clyde looked like a different team. They were snapping at Peterhead from the off, the urgency in their play far removed from the apathy shown in the 1st period. Goodwillie showed why he is so pivotal to the Bully Wee with a fantastic equaliser. In the words of my son "he sent the defender to the shops". Clyde continued to press and were looking likely to take the lead but couldn't quite find the elusive 3rd. Despite how unpopular Jones seems to be with the Clyde Support, I felt he offered far more than Tade and Clyde noticeably dropped off after that change was made. For the last 20 it was anyone's game with chances at either end. A draw was probably about right. The wee man loved the noise and atmosphere shown by the Clyde fans we were sitting amongst and was asking in the car when we can go again! All in all great value for his £1 entry fee

  6. Special mention to the Hibs fans who set off the flare which set fire to their own flag and then got the jail...top entertainment

  7. As the OP I’m considering locking this thread. It’s been a good laugh but quite a lot of strange paranoid delusional types are now dominating. Will consider options in next few days.

  8. Maybe you should open up about your own personal struggles, maybe with addiction or mental wellbeing, so that we can all have a good laugh at you on a football forum then?

  9. A 6-0 reverse, in the 3rd division to a team who were still amateur when we were, briefly, playing European football. This is the lowest point for me since I started going in 1978. I’m pig sick.

  12. That was absolutely phenomenal viewing. We were outstanding in every area of the park and witnessing some Falkirk fans leaving early was extra pleasing. If today doesn’t show Ellis what Charlie Fox is about then I’ll never know. The big man was absolutely outstanding today and his general presence made the likes of Robson and Morrison look a lot more comfortable. Fair play to Jake Davidson aswell, a tremendous performance at right back and it was pleasing to see a full back link play so effectively, which as much I like the guy, is something that Michael Doyle severely lacks in his game. Midfield had everything; Energy, bite and most importantly the quality. I don’t mind Thompson playing in these types of games where your primary role is to break up play and let the others do the business, it’s when we play the likes of Clyde and East Fife that he’s generally not much use. Brown was absolutely levels above anyone on the pitch and it was even more pleasing to see him add to his goals tally. Something that generally lacks from his game. Easily my man of the match. Connell put in a power of work today and although he may not be the quickest, that left foot is a match winner. Front three were superb and special mention to Louis Longridge. First time as captain today and he puts in a superb captain’s performance. Full of running, energy and moments of magic. He seems to have gained a consistency now that may have lacked throughout his career but he’s showing his quality in abundance this season. My player of the year so far for us I can’t praise the team without mentioning how dire Falkirk are though. Guys like Nesbitt, Telfer, Morrison and Mcdaid are generally very good technical footballers but there’s literally no character about that side. The defence was utterly chronic and the boy Lemon at centre back looked like he was dragged from the pub to play the game. Comical errors all over the place that wouldn’t even be accepted at Sunday league level. Serious issues throughout the whole club and surely Sheerin is gone by tonight

  16. Possibly Jamie MacDonald missing too. His other half's pregnant and was fit to burst on Tuesday night which is why he missed out. From the way McGlynn was talking, if the wee one made an appearance on Wednesday or Thursday then we'd see him back for this game. Any later than that though, and it'll likely be the first Bairn to have a significant effect on our season...

  17. He can make whatever joke he wants. And if folk want to call him an arsehole for making it, then they're perfectly within their rights to do so. Nothing worse than these "you can't even make a joke any more" type people who start whining like precious little snowflakes whenever anybody pulls them up for their shit chat.

  18. In some ways I feel sorry for Sheerin, he quite clearly isn't cut out to be a manager and he's been put in a terrible position. He should never have been appointed in the first place and the fault lies squarely with those that hired him. It's a job after all and I certainly wouldn't walk away from a job if I had a family to support. He should have been paid off and allowed to go back to coaching somewhere before his reputation was totally trashed. Again, the blame for him still being there lies with those that put him there. In the first half, he was animated on the touchline and at the start of the second half our clownshoes team looked to be fired up - if Morrison's curling shot had made it 2-1, who knows? But after the 4th went in, he was just a desolate figure with the rest of the coaches not going near him. He looked to be broken, the loneliest man in the world. Those idiots in the boardroom who allowed all this to happen are culpable. Piss off the lot of you.

  20. If Holt and Sheerin aren't gone by midday on Tuesday following this AGM then I'm done. That was the most spineless, half arsed attempt at football I have seen from a professional team. The players aren't interested and are just fucking dreadful. McDaid, Hall and Ruth being the worst. If the new investors don't deliver change immediately then there is no fucking point.

  26. The tactics are simple really. When Fox plays we win. He’s so good he even provided the assist for his goal. So let’s not complicate it. Top notch from everyone but super duper special awards go to Brown, for finally going forward rather than sideways and consequently wreaking havoc; Smith for toughening up a bit and running at defenders and consequently wreaking havoc; McHugh for leading the line, shots on target and creating space for havoc-wreakers; Connell, gifted as he is, for running the show like a leader ; Davidson for showing the skill side to his game, his best ever yet; Ferrie for steadiness when needed. And Charlie Fox, just for being there. The rest were just bloody good. Aside of individuals, the composure in finishing was what we’ve yearned for. Did the Dutchmen’s package include a free masterclass from Dennis Bergkamp? Last word for Laurie Ellis. He’s mastering his craft like so many of our players. Hopefully this is the platform for them all to jump from.

  28. There can be absolutely no other possible scenario than Sheerin and hopefully Holt too departing tonight that would make sense, be it sacked or resignations. This just cannot continue. Absolutely no way should we not get the news we want to hear in the next few hours.

  30. thing is a lot of this isn't hindsight. fans didn't want Holt, players like wilson fans, including myself and others said were nowhere near good enough before they were signed, these 2 or 3 year contracts are fair enough if the guys being signed are brilliant but for jobbers why did we do it? then sheerins bizarre selections and interviews for months now. the treatment of fans by the board. its one very poor decision after another. I take my hat off to those investing but I won't be even thinking about going to a game never mind investing until Holt and sheerin are gone and the new board give some form of better strategic statement and say no1 priority going forward will be the lifeblood of the club, the fans. treating arrogant people like Holt better than fans really gets my goat

  32. Think this is an excellent point. Im disappointed that Colborn is part of this group. I think it sends a very negative message - a complete clear out was required and we're not getting that. Obviously some positive signs with a few of the individuals involved being a clear step up from the previous board but an opportunity missed.

  33. No way of proving it, but my gut feel is if it weren't for Westminster, SG wouldn't be too far behind them. Sadly the whole thing has degenerated into a left wing / right wing thing now.

  34. This is revisionist bollocks. We were hoaching in Houston’s last season as several players downed tools on him after he announced he was retiring. Including Kerr.

  35. I'm no Doctor but I'm sure the whole point of the concussion protocol is because if you get another knock to the head shortly after, it can be lethal, even fatal. Ricky Little looked totally out of it after that initial impact and I'm amazed we let him go back on at all. Also, the amount of times we've bullied teams physically this season, we can't complain when an opponent gives it back. The advantage we had late in the game was scuppered because McKenna lost the rag and forced the ref to stop play.

  36. Not the greatest performance today from Rovers, but came away with the undefeated run still going. Reminded me of Queens or the Pars away. Played poorly but didn’t lose. Arbroath totally dominated the midfield and won most of the 50/50 balls. We struggled badly in the first half to create anything going forward. We played better in the second half, but don’t recall the Arbroath keeper having a save to make. Nouble was a class above, but thought Berra and Lang were superb in keeping him in check. Referee was truly atrocious for both sides. Never gave the game a chance to get flowing. Loads of yellow cards for nothing challenges. Surprised no one was sent off. Strange incident with the head knock. Little was clearly visibly dazed but insisted he was ok. No surprise that it caught up with him and he had to go off. Hope he’s alright. One of those frustrating games, but it’s absolutely a game we would have lost 1-0 in the past. Two more huge games before Christmas. If we could take 4 points from then or even just get out undefeated, I’d be happy

  40. Just a wee reminder that when someone is saying stuff thats only intention is to get a rise out of folk, completely ignoring them is far and away the best way to annoy them. As for the game, absolutely dreadful, and the worst I’ve seen this season by a mile. Couldn’t get a great look at the McKenna challenge on Spencer, so maybe it wasn’t as bad as it looked, but I thought he got away with a pretty bad one at first viewing. Maybe Brad said something about vaccinations being a sensible approach to easing symptoms during a pandemic and Mikey took umbrage, who knows? Anyway, take a point and let’s forget this ever happened.

  41. That is amazing. "Morbidly obese whale deflects all responsibility for health issues" is a more accurate headline. These people should be forced to face the reality of their outrageously poor lifestyle choices, not shielded, given a platform, and looked upon as victims.
