  2. Courts: I have nothing to say on the incident [with Ojo] because I don't know what happened. That’s funny, because it didn’t stop him grandstanding with a t-shirt last time he didn’t know what happened This guy is a fucking chancer

  4. The old "we've appointed, and subsequently sacked, a few numpties in the recent past, therefore, in order not to further embellish our "hire and fire reputation", we need to stick with the current incumbent, even though he is an even bigger diddy than those who came previously and is dragging us down ever lower" An utterly ludicrous argument, so no surprise to see who is advancing it. It can safely be filed in the bin. McKinnon was sacked exactly two years ago. His league record was P14 W6 D5 L3 GD +16 Pts 23. Diddy Sheerin stands at P15 W6 D4 L5 GD +3 Pts 22. A not too dissimilar record, although the current GD tells the story of how chronically bad we now are up front. At this level, five league defeats in fifteen is a sackable offence. Four home defeats by mid-November is a sackable offence. Five points from a possible eighteen against the top four sides in the league is a sackable offence. Widen that out to include Alloa, who would have aspirations of at least a play-off place, and we've taken six points from a possible twenty-four. The other sixteen points have come against the bottom four teams. This is beyond dire on every level. Death by a thousand cuts. Woeful, indefensible stuff. Never mind promotion, we are not even making the play-offs under this clown. He is hopeless. The only hope - and probably a forlorn one - is that the imminent deserting of the sinking ship by at least some of the rats precipitates a years-overdue change in ownership which in turn precipitates the immediate sweeping away of the likes of Holt and Sheerin and the appointment of an actual football manager.

  5. Paul Sheerin absolutely can’t be left in charge any longer. He’s been given the biggest budget in the league and we are absolutely dugshite. He’s been an absolute failure in any way you want to measure his performance to date and he’s got a losers mentality. Just because we’ve sacked managers in the past (btw our last 3 managers that we sacked was absolutely justified and completely because they were not good enough) and we’ve then appointed someone worse does not mean that we should stick with someone wholly incompetent and not fit for purpose. The idea that we need to give him time for continuity sake regardless of performance is a fucking nonsense.

  6. Collum did somethings today which were utterly baffling. Mainly Stopping the game for a guy getting hit in the baws with the ball. Craig Gordon was FURIOUS today and I think I enjoyed that more than the game/result. Give me every bit of that. Lamie & Mugabi were excellent today. Sol too Shields was great, ran all day. Goss was good too, he's a bit slack at times but his delivery is exceptional. I hate Hearts. Get it up them.

  12. He's everything you'd hope a professional footballer for your team would be. Down to earth, driven, humble, cares for the club and forever grateful for the chance we gave him of senior football. Over 100 goals later and he's clearly being frozen out of a badly struggling team at a time when we need all the hunger and talent we can. I just don't get it.

  14. It’s been a downward spiral for a good few seasons, but by God, it hasn’t half accelerated under this BoD and Holt. His recruitment buoyed by data analytics is woeful to say the least. The sooner he leaves our club the better. I was all for giving Sheerin a chance, but his time is up too. If we still have ambitions to go up, the whole club from top to bottom needs a clear out and start afresh!

  18. Surprised I haven’t noticed in the thread todays incident being compared to the Hibs fanny getting physical with Tavernier at Easter road in 2019. Fan jumps advertising and takes swipe at player. Player responds in kind and has a nibble back at the fan. Cops immediately step in and escort the fan oot the door. Everyone checks if the player is ok and ref keeps his cards in his pocket. Play on. Sensible outcome despite the player being far more aggressive in his response than Ojo was today.

  32. Possession, eh? Shields is fast and Lamie and Mugabi are just taking the piss now. Nice that we gave SOD the wee run out. I'm glad Moore fouled shields there or collum would have gone home with blue balls I'm sure the terrace podcast will tell us how excellent hearts were. I was worried when Boyce came on, he'd be a good back up to Tony Watt.

  34. It's so depressingly predictable. Folk absolutely creaming themselves at beating two absolutely hoaching sides and as soon as we're up against anyone half decent we get our arses felt.

  35. There is such a thing as penny wise pound foolish though. Actually investing some money in a more polished media output all round may actually increase existing supporter engagement; community engagement and actually attract new fans. The club should maybe try it and see what happens? If it doesn't generate more buzz or attract new fans then cancel it. We'd be no worse off. Its the lack of effort to try anything different that frustrates me. The culture of this is the way its always been done is a problem for every business. We're lean and we'll always be lean in Ayr's case. That doesn't actually preclude change though. I have no issue with the volunteers I think you and others do a good job given the time and resources contributed to it. I think we should be careful not to confuse criticism of the how the club is run and decisions made by the hierarchy with the effort and dedication of our volunteers.

  36. I have written the match preview for several years and sent it to the previous Commercial Manager on a Thursday evening/Friday morning to add team news and quote from the Manager and post on the website. I recently advised the club that I was struggling to find the time to continue and, hence, there hasn't been a regular match preview in recent weeks. Is that unacceptable, pathetic? That is a little extreme but I do think it is unarguable that the club could vastly improve its output/communication in this regard (social media, website, 'TV' channel). Hopefully the new Commercial Manager can address this. The Chairman has on many occasions spoken that, off-the-field, Ayr United is a 'lean' operation. It relies on volunteers - like Robbo, AU Media etc. - to operate they way fans seem to expect. I'm not alway sure that is appreciated. Every penny spent on someone run the Twitter account, post content on the website, create videos etc. would be a penny less spent on the first team. It's a difficult balance.

  39. I can see no upside whatsoever in us falling through the relegation trapdoor into League 1. Several PT teams have really got their act together in recent years and if you add to that the more affluent, ambitious wannabes you face a level of competition that bears no resemblance to the league that we dominated last time around. In fact any complacency allied to a weak re-building policy and we could start to slump alarmingly. Let’s be realistic our hard core support has fallen from around 1400 to 1000 in the past few seasons. Clubs like Morton have been equally as bad as we have recently but their hard core support is holding up better.Just imagine if we were in mid table League 1 or worse - you can safely assume that the 1000 would become 600/700 and then our income streams are on a par with say East Fife, Airdrie, Montrose. That is a nightmare scenario and much as our appalling win ratio in this league is hugely frustrating we must do everything possible to retain our Championship status.
