  2. Aye it is. Stlll annoys me the p***ks at SPFL had the first game when RP had a capacity of 3700 and have made this one midweek. Literally lost out in guys of 10k fans over the two games. Shambles.

  3. I know I'm his biggest fan, but I think Ian Murray gets a tough time off Diamonds fans. Both our clubs were in the same position (roughly) when we sacked our respective Stevies in October 2018. And both clubs appointed their new managers (Murray and Duffy) at around the same time. Now I know Airdrie have a bigger budget than us (and have the full-time element), but there's no question that Murray was a vastly superior appointment to Duffy. He took an Airdrie team languishing in the lower reaches of League One to second last season. This season they look even stronger. Especially going forward with the likes of Smith, Salim and Easton. Duffy took over a Sons side in the same position and left us ninth having stayed up by the skin of our teeth last season. Airdrie have consistently improved under Murray. It might've been slow progress - but it's definite progress nonetheless. I have nothing but admiration for how balls out he went on Saturday. But it also didn't surprise me. It looks like he's getting the mojo back he had with us and, to be totally honest, I'm really pleased for him. He gave me some of my best memories supporting Sons and I really enjoy speaking to him after games. We always said he needed the right assistant, and I think that Scott Agnew might just be the ideal person to fill the Jack Ross-role.

  6. Including season tickets ( as you don’t know how many are attending but have paid ) Ayr have sold around 3600 ( a very good day today so far ) , on game day we normally sell around 350 for a normal game , see what tomorrow brings , that’s 3 times the home fans we had at last home game , let’s hope we get the result and performance that makes them want to come back

  7. Robbie Neilson, the man who celebrated United's promotion in a local park after Nelms made the casting vote, admitting he's bitter about it now: '“It’s true (that the anger still remains). Maybe they don’t think it is but it’s very much true from this end. They’re not the ones who were put down into the Championship. I think it’s something that will continue for a long time. If they want to brush it under the carpet it’s up to them but we will continue to remember it.” What a bizarre individual.

  12. I've watched the highlights a couple of times now, and having a chance to digest it. Eastons goal is an absolute beauty, really well taken and great technique. Wasn't Dylans best game by any means but he's always capable of a bit magic, and that was proven. The first red card, we'll never know if it was justified without having heard what was said at the time. Buchanan I don't think can have too many complaints, he had handfuls of jersey all game and he's deliberately stopped Allan going through. Geggans is a joke tbh, Currie has absolutely conned the ref with that, and while its funny because its not AGAINST us, I can absolutely see why Dumbarton would be raging about that, I cant even remember why Geggan got his first yellow tbh. I hadn't realised how bad a GK error it was for the 3rd, he's absolutely sold the jerseys with that one and cost Dumbarton a point. For all his faults over the last couple of years, and we've given him a bit of stick, but Murray went full baws out on the table to win that at the weekend there with the 2-2-6 formation for the last 10 and it paid off.

At previous 20 week scans with the other kids I thought sonographer was mute until she said do you have any questions. Anyway - another wee boy. That'll be me coaching the kids football teams for a little longer. Superb.

  19. I'm seriously pissed off if fans are having a go at Ramirez. I thought he was immense on Saturday. Incredible work-rate, physically aggressive and got kicked from pillar to post but just got up and got on with it. Plus a superbly taken goal of course. Fans rated him our second best player (next to Watkins) on the BBC site on Saturday so most of our fans get it.

  22. Incredulous that it's fans including Killie fans FFS that can come up with ideas, whilst our club in their bunker at Somerset Park come up wi nowt ,it's utterly appalling. The new commercial manager should be bursting with ideas and have direct lines to all the major dailies and local press and be feeding them stories true or not continually, that's what killie did under the Fleetings and which McLeod was a master at, provincial clubs have to bang their own drum the OF media won't come off their own back. We're slipping back in that respect after McCall and to move forward we must improve dramatically.

  26. He seems to escape criticism for some reason. The first goal yesterday he was all over the place positionally, and then was out-sprinted (or should that be jogged) by Robertson by about 30 yards. The 2nd goal he also jogged back after being out of position. The 5th goal the same, although it didn't matter. He is clueless and lazy defensively, and offers nothing going forward. Look at Liverpool's first goal yesterday and Robertson is practically in the goal net as the goal is scored such is his enthusiasm and energy levels, you cannot imagine AWB doing that. As you say it's the classic example of the full-back who makes the odd aggressive slide tackle in front of the fans kidding everyone on that he is committed and strong defensively. But like I say when you watch him off the ball you see he is anything but. The whole defensive half of their team is really sub-standard - AWB, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Fred and McTominay are probably Europa League standard players/average Champions League players on a good day, never mind top Champions League/Premier League winners. Every club has one or 2 of those in their line-up but not half the team. Going forward they have talented individuals but no cohesion, and their overall game plan is a mess. Tuchel replacing Lampard last season showed the difference appointing a top level manager can make and how daft it is appointing someone purely on the basis that they used to play for your club. How a club and business of the stature of Man Utd can continue to appoint someone so unqualified for the most important role in the club continually baffles me.

  31. Still cannae quite get over the events of Saturday. Bedlam of the highest order. What a day it was for everyone that made it along. Wild abandon and sheer disbelief at the end. Big fan of the ice cream van that was in attendance anawl. Personally quite chuffed with Stenny in the cup, given that it's where my good lady hails from. Good pies the last time I was there and if it's not too saccharine to say so, it'll be nice to see Sean Crighton.

  33. Still cannae quite believe that sensational second half of utter bedlam. I was sure we'd blown it when we missed the second penalty, but little did I know the sheer carnage that awaited us. The wailing, shirt-rending and gnashing of teeth on this thread by the Dumbarton fans, making all sorts of outlandish claims about the red cards and even having the astonishing temerity to complain about the amount of added time, has been a pleasure to behold as I have looked back through it this morning. Delightful. Unaccounted for heids all over the place. A tsunami of seethe. Nowhere near the performance level of the week before, but the squad dug out the win, Murray chucked every forward he could after a winner at 1-1 and he was ultimately rewarded. Delighted for Salim to get his goal. An amazing afternoon. Absolutely incredible.

  34. My thought too. Good example being Leon McCann - he was regularly very good against us and don’t think we once targeted him. Every other team in the league seem to know you can shell balls up to him and he’ll either be 10 yards out of position or will lose the header. We didn’t seem to know that though.

  37. AWB is genuinely atrocious. His positional awareness is laughable but gets an easy ride because once a game he'll sprint and then slide tackle the attacker and the ball will thunder out for a throw in. A terrible, terrible footballer.

  39. Agree totally, been saying similar for years. Should have a greater exposure in the locallity as its the one chance both our teams have of changing any Weegie bias their parents may have. Personally I'd have the clubs sponsor the leagues, rotated visits (free) to a game then if you play for a boys club (or girls, oops) you can purchase a ticket for a quid. You could also get a chaperone ticket for a fiver to bring along a parent etc. Hope season ticket holders wouldnt get too upset as this could secure the future support and indeed grow it.

  40. Absolutely class scenes at the Dundee goal yesterday. What football is all about and the feeling these plastic fans up and down our country will never get. It's all about the moments in football that make the utter shite worth it. Seeing the pain in the Hearts fans as i jumped around wildly really will do me. Stick that in a medicine bottle and sip it you Gorgie clowns. Thank you.

  41. Geggan's yellow was the only decision from the highlights which looks to possibly be a wrong decision, I think he probably followed through more than necessary but no doubt that Currie bought the foul and yellow card. Again though that is an example of daft play by Geggan, by the 93rd minute you are fully aware of how the referee is reffing the game, going in with any extra force at all (particularly while on a booking) was likely to result in a booking and is just stupid. In any event, a slightly harsh yellow card in the 93rd minute when 2-1 down is not something you can blame a defeat on. Buchanan's second yellow is the most obvious yellow you will ever see, every fan (except a couple of Dumbarton fans on here seemingly) knows that pulling a shirt back when the player is away from you is a yellow card. I'm sure a Falkirk player was sent-off for 2 of these in the first half against us this season. Both penalties look to be fouls - the first one was abysmal defending and that's where any criticism should be directed. As mentioned earlier, MacLean is clearly shouting something at the linesman for his sending off, only those involved know what was said so can't comment on that. As most of the decisions seem to be correct the criticism of the referee seems to have now shifted into the rather vague concept of 'controlling the game'. It's the job of the referee to apply the laws as best he can, if the players do stupid things then that is their fault and as a fan that's all I'd really be concerned with. How come he managed to 'control' the Airdrie players and not the Dumbarton ones anyway? Airdrie had 2 bookings, one of which was for a guy taking his shirt off in the last minute. If you are someone who thinks it is up to the referee to control a game then fine, but you'd need both of the teams to lose the plot for that to be a fair criticism, if only one team does then I'm afraid that's just ill disciplined. If it what was the other way round I'd absolutely be critical of our players. I've regularly criticised Murray for getting himself sent to the stands as it gives out a terrible example to the players, on a few occasions leading to us losing it as a team.
