  1. "We only sing it in the pub, on the streets, and at approximately half our games" possibly isn't the defence you thought it was.

  3. Horrendous news. I don't care about party affiliation, this was a man who went to work this morning and never came home.

  7. The Ethan Ross signing followed with the Community Hub plans taking more concrete form have got me thinking and I have been proper buzzing... After being a national laughing stock, appointing Gary Locke, the John Hughes saga, on 13th May 2017 we lost on penalties to Brechin, getting relegated to league 1. Barry Smith's brutal football and all round negativity followed, and we looked like we could be in real trouble of languishing in L1 for a long, long time. Now we are in the Championship, having had a real tilt at promotion last year (and arguably without a Hearts and over a 36 game season we would have had a very good shout of winning that league). We look good again for a solid play off hunt, and maybe another tilt at promotion without additional injuries and a shrewd January window. A good amount of prize money should come in again from a decent league finish. We are fucking great to watch. The atmosphere at home games is good, and brilliant away. The players and fans connect. And there are loads of other positives, big wins etc. Obviously SJM is the main hero, and we really do need to announce the 20 year deal. But I also think John Sim (and perhaps the wider Board) needs major credit (if this Hub is successfully built). He, without full backing and a lot of nae saying from fans, stuck to his guns and implemented the 4G park to enable the transition to a 7 day a week stadium. Should the Hub go ahead, it is a game changer and sets us up in a really strong position going forward: - Massive boost to match day experience, with a (Rovers themed) pub for home and away fans right at the turnstiles. This is something I have been desperate for for a long time having experienced Queens Park's version, which is top class. (I would hope the Hub will eventually having similar art work to that in the South Stand concourse, fan tiles/walls etc, themed tables 'the coca cola corner' etc.). - It should become a money maker, which will over the long term be excellent for sustainability (the 7 day a week element is key, pitch rental and rooms rental in the Hub, but so is the match day income from home and away fans. For both run of the mill games and milking the bigger sides when they come to town.). - Major boost to deepen connections with the community and town - it gets youth teams, local teams, walking teams, non-football groups all in and around Raith Rovers and creates positive associations. This will really help with overall perception and hopefully provides a good platform to sustain/build the support and do even more good in the community. - It looks good. It looks professional. So it should help contribute to attracting folks in - young players, young fans. It's a marker that we have a bit of ambition and realistic foundations to grow and be a premier league club. There are loads of other things too, but those jump out straight away. Anyway, what a transition this last 2-3 years have been on and off the park. Everyone at the club - board, team, fans, volunteers etc. - should be massively proud of themselves for achieving all this in such difficult circumstances. I fucking love the Rovers!

  8. The swastika is/was a symbol of divinity and spirituality in India while also being seen as a good luck sign in western society. But it doesnt mean that in 2021 its appropriate to send someone a swastika before a big exam now does it? It doesnt matter if the original song is entirely inoffensive and the most appropriate choice, once that song has been b*****dised by a bunch of arseholes, the song itself takes on a new meaning. Given that people have been charged with singing the b*****dised version in the past few months, it is at the very least a fucking daft move on Rangers' part to include this in official promotion material.

  13. Regardless of political affiliation, some of the comments on here are poor. At the end of the day as someone else has pointed out, this is someone who went to their work this morning and sadly won't return. As much as I find his political party abhorrent I wouldn't wish it on anyone. All attacks like this do are erode our already very loose connection to those who govern. If MPs no longer feel safe or end up "vetting" entrants to their surgeries or public engagements, we will be even further away from being able to hold them accountable.

  18. I wouldn't. Rangers just released a statement saying "the City is ours" alongside a theme that the majority of their support will construe as a song about forcing Irish Catholics out the City, yet not a single Rangers fan is willing to stand up and admit that. The "sensible ones" are complicit in encouraging the club to act this way, and the "moron element" to keep acting how they do, they're just too thick/cowardly to realise it.

  21. The P&B Ryder to the Stars and Back Team Quiz 2021 Session 6 - Yep, we go again. Singles. @pleslie99 - Well well well...... here we are again. Some pishy counting (some of the fans call it cheating, that was Bourne from frustration and does not constitute the views of the ROW team) from my opposing Captain leads to this! Mind games at its finest. I for one was not accepting victory until the points were confirmed by the main man himself and my holding back of my victory speech was indeed the correct decision. Some say the speech from my opposite number @The Hologram should be taken as a resignation and forfeit, but us at the ROW are all about sporting integrity and we will compete fairly for the prestigious title. Iv had to drag my squad out of the gutter, whore houses, strippers and pubs after some premature celebrations to compete in what is an unexpected round of singles. Iv had to charter a plane to Angola to Bring Back one of the team. Whereas the Scots sitting on their hands waiting for this moment after luring us into a false set of celebrations. We will compete and compete fiercely. Led out again by our main man @SlipperyP who will encourage the boys as they battle round. @Jacksgranda out in the 2nd match again, experienced head to keep us calm early and be on the final green to supply the beers beers the troops as they come in. It would be criminal for @Eednud, @Tynierose, @German Jag and @WhiteRoseKilie not to end this tournament with a trophy considering the consistency and points they have accumulated over the week. All 4 go out 1 after the other in a big 4 matches right in the middle looking to get some block of red on the board. Each and every one of my team have been outstanding all week and I couldn't ask for a better bunch of boys. One more big effort guys, let's push this and get the trophy to stay with the ROW. @The Hologram - Apologies to everyone for conceding by mistake. The RoTW are pure raging, so let’s get right up and at them. We’ve bettered them once in the singles, no reason to doubt further victories. Rest of the World - 33 v Scotland - 33 @SlipperyP v @ArmadaleKillie @Jacksgranda v @Arch Stanton @Geaky v @Snobot @NotThePars v @alang1993 @pleslie99 v @Salvo Montalbano @The_Kincardine v @Rugster @Ross. v @The DA @Eednud v @JustOneCornetto @Tynierose v @The Hologram @German Jag v @gkneil @WhiteRoseKillie v @peasy23 @Duszek v @BigBo10 @Meldrew v @Cardinal Richelieu @Leeds Saint v @Culter Away @Bully Wee Villa v @scottsdad @LincolnHearts v @Blootoon87 @Arabdownunder v @101 @Spring Onion v @mathematics @The Captain v @Tommy Carcetti @NJ2 v @Ronaldo Jeremy @kingjoey v @JamesP_81 @Helpma v @Silky Si McFly Today we will be using NZ Herald 14th Oct 2021 Afternoon https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/herald-afternoon-quiz-october-14/UW634JZZAJCYYKV6GW2ENRJEOE/ The deadline is Sunday 10:00 Singburi Time May the luckiest team win!

  35. This song isn't offensive, even though it shares a tune with a song we just had to ban fans for singing. This shirt isn't offensive, it's just a tribute to our Dutch players. Maybe, your club could stop trying to incorporate morally ambiguous guff in an attempt to appeal to the lowest common denominator? As if the people making that video never at any point thought, "do you think this could be seen to be in poor taste?". It's a deliberate choice, so let's stop pretending otherwise.

  39. There's no such thing as 'male culture', in the same way that there isn't a 'female culture' that all women are answerable for. You can't restore sweeping, outdated, sexist stereotypes just because it makes your argument against injustice simpler - though not actually insightful.
