  1. He wasn't found until Sortmeout started this thread. Some would say that makes him a hero.

  7. Loving watching the highlights on the Scottish Cup Youtube channel. What on earth is the BBC Scotland channel for if it's not to show stuff like this?

  8. Nope, I edited them. We only had one decent chance by my notes the first half and that was the goal. Ross Matthews had a weak shot if I recall, but it wasn’t worthy of going in the package. I’ve edited nearly all our highlights packages for some time. TonTV gave us the entire match footage after the game, not an edit. EDIT: I will say it can be quite hard sometimes for the highlights to reflect a game properly as they are basically a collection of what is perceived to be the better chances in a game (or key moments like decent penalty shouts, red cards, etc.). Not talking about this game specifically, but say a team has a lot of decent build up play but it doesn’t result in shots or near misses from crosses, it might not come through in the packages.

  12. Summit camp on my first visit to Arran. Holy shit what a place it is. We camped on Caisteal Abhail which gives glorious views of the other three Corbetts. Cir Mhor looking the pick of them. I was going to walk back to Brodick over CM and Beinn Tarsuinn bit it was clagged and pissing down first thing. Certainly going back though.

  13. Any striker with a semblance of awareness either takes the shot on or gets his body between ball and defender. Sheridan done neither. Pickles my head folk can defend that yesterday.

  14. Trolling or not, DPB is a disgusting bigot with a penchant for racism and transphobia, who openly admits he and his equally disgusting (or made up) wife actually "hate" seeing women on TV. A pair of absolute fucking roasters.

  18. Right, so in your opinion ‘being black’ is enough of a reason to suspect someone of committing a crime? Got you. You’re a dreadful person and a massive racist, and given your horrendous quality of output to this forum, I’ll take absolutely no lectures from you.

  22. No qualms with the outcome as the competition as a whole is an utter shambles. The development of certain clubs is more important than others. About time clubs at this level and below show the governing bodies what they think of it and withdraw from this.

  23. They have got this sooo wrong. They could get away with charging this for a Derby, as most want to go and watch it, no matter the form. However £30 for a game against one of the ugly sisters is not appealing at all, they are not a pull.

  24. I see... So Rangers are shite in Europe because our refs lets them get away with offside goals and stonewall penalties.

  25. “Doesn’t cost a penny” doesn’t stand up when you’re talking about paying clubs a handsome amount of money to host games.

  26. Rangers tried to win a game the way they win games (buying loads of expensive players and making the best of soft refereeing), and we tried to win a game the way we win games (Being big shithouses who can play a bit). Inconclusive which is better, lets see.

  27. I see the only comment on the Facebook post about this is some boy suggesting we sign recently released Newcastle United forward, one Andy Carroll, citing that he would “do us a turn”, and that “he’s better getting lower wages from us then [sic] not at all”. I’m not sure what to say about that, really.

  29. I can’t help but feel, despite it being a very nice gesture and seated in goodwill, that giving a man who’s just signed a £100k+ a year contract a giant novelty cheque for £150 for a new pair of boots is a tiny bit small time.

  32. I'm still not delighted about our League Cup performance, but if we are talking about playing the long game, I would rather we waited to sign Slattery, Ojala and Johansen when we did, rather than panicking to sign L1/L2 jobbers on July 1st as it seems to be paying off in our performances so far. Even Woolery, who I have been critical of at times, arrived saying he was behind everyone else and in the past couple of weeks we can now him coming on to a game. For next season, it's refreshing to know we will be going in to day one of pre-season (unless there are transfer bids) with Kelly, a back four of O'Donnell, Carroll, Johansen and Ojala, with Slattery sitting in front, all contracted. That's a good spine to begin with. McGinley certainly showed himself as a capable replacement for Carroll and to be honest, there were one or two moments where he looked to me to use his recovery pace in a situation that's normally a rash challenge from Carroll. I guess you have to weigh that up with the fact that we did probably miss Carroll's deliveries as I really don't rate O'Hara at them and I'm almost of the old fashioned opinion that someone who is 6'2" and decent in the air should always be in the mixer. Grimshaw isn't perfect in midfield and certainly has technical lapses, but his sheer attitude and willingness to put himself about keeps him in there for me just now. That certainly beats the games where you were forgetting some of our midfielders were actually on the park.

  37. I think you are probably right. If another SPFL side was going to take him they would have done so a couple of years ago. When his current deal ends at end of season 2022/23 he will be 34 so unlikely another SPFL team will take him on then when they could have done 2 or 3 years earlier. Hopefully we can get him signed up for at least another 2 years after than to take him to he is 36 and see where he is then (I know he said on the podcast earlier in the year he wants to play until he is 40 but saying it and doing it at the same level are completed different things). I thought he would have lost a bit this season compared to the previous season but so far not the case and he is absolutely on fire. Scoring the first goal on Saturday the way that he did if it had been anyone else you would have went on about it over and over again but it now not unexpected to see him score goals out of absolutely nothing (has done so a few times already this season eg 2nd against Alloa and Cove spring to mind). Just a case of enjoying him while he is still with us as imagine the deep abyss there would be if your main striker you were relying on to score goals was Robert Jones.

  41. That's my wife to a tee. Unbelievably wearing. This morning was an example. Yesterday my stepdaughter asked me to leave her son off at Meadowbank today at 8.50 (he's doing practice for his transfer exam - 11+ in old money). "Leave him at the front door and make sure he doesn't leave his pencil case in the car." Off we head this morning (they were staying with us as my stepdaughter had had major dental work done yesterday and was in a great deal of pain and half zonked out on medication). Before we leave my wife tells him "Phone granda when you get out and he'll come and pick you up." I leave him off, complete with pencil case and watched him go in the front door. He wasn't sure when he finished but it didn't matter as he was to ring. He didn't know whether he needed a mask or not, and I forgot to give him one when he got out of the car. Arrived home to 20 questions. "Did you go in with him?" No, I was to leave him at the door. "Did you give him a mask?" "No he didn't think he needed one." "Oh, they won't let him in. He won't know where to go, he's never been there before." "Was he not there last week?" "You know they're here every Saturday." (Not last Saturday they weren't - totally ignored.) "When do you pick him up?" "He's to ring." "No, no, no, that's no use he'll be hanging around for 15 minutes waiting on you arriving." "O.K., I'll be there for 10, it won't last less than an hour." 9.45 on the dot "You need to be away, it'll take you 15 minutes getting there." It only takes 5 minutes when it's something I need to do, but it's always 15 minutes when it's anything to do with her. Off I went, got parked, just after 10 the phone rang "Granda, I'm finished." "I'm in the car park." Down he came, into the car. I asked him had he been there before - last week. Did he need a mask - no. Did he know where he was going - No, I asked at the desk. Next year he'll be at the secondary school, they're going to have to unwrap the cotton wool. He's going to be getting a bus, he'll have to cross the main road to get it, he'll have to know where to find his bus to get home, he'll be changing classrooms every 45/60 minutes he'll have to remember to take his schoolbag with him. He's going to have to get a bit of responsibility, he's quite capable, after all he knew to ask at the reception desk where he was supposed to go this morning, he's not 5 years old anymore. When I was 11 I was getting two buses to Pittodrie with my pals and going to football matches unaccompanied by an adult, not to mention other things, TLDR: Women, eh?
