Imagine being this angry/unhinged because you're no allowed to be racist anymore

Rangers fans discover that if they all band together as a group they can cause a serious change thorugh sheer weight of numbers. Do they use this power to... A. Force all those who tarnish their club with racist songs/comments to change their ways and help everyone move forwards? B. Force everyone whos criticising the racist element in their support to back down and never question it again? Answers on a fucking postage stamp pls. Lets never again pretend the "vast majority" of Rangers fans want this element out their club, the last few days have shown differently.

Is this true? I haven't seen a single Rangers fan on this thread, including several supposedly sensible ones, condemn the behaviour of the Heart and Hand guys, and disappointingly several very decent folk that I follow on Twitter had nothing to say about the racist singing last weekend either. It seems to be tolerated at the very least. The last day or so has also exposed a large number of grubby and sinister little bunch of oddballs as part of the online Rangers support.

I actually think it is very obvious that Rangers do not give a flying f**k about what anyone else thinks - Orange strips, Heart and Hand podcast, ffs - we look at places like Hungary and the media tut tuts at their overt racism, demands action - but the club that just won the Premiership are championing a stance that is - at best - questionable. Why do they do this? Just pop into places like Bathgate or Broxburn and see how many strips they sell. That stance is entirely their right if they exist in a vaccum...............however, when it affects and impacts people in the very business area that they operate, then they need to be dealt with. This wouldnt be tolerated in any other Industry in Scotland, but everyone - police, politicians, media, SPFL, SFA seem shit scared of these wallopers. They clearly dont care about people asking nicely, so the only thing that will resolve this is to remove points. And I mean every single time a sectarian song is sung - home or away. Oh, and in case any of our resident Rangers fans do the "sectarianism isnt just a west coast issue" - aye it is. Apart from the very odd (and I mean that in every sense of the word) tit that support Hibs and Hearts who get laughed at by the rest of their fans support - other clubs dont have this issue. Folk said the Denmark game was a 'free hit'. The reality is that this game was the free hit. A chance to try something other than 3-5-2, a chance to try different combinations, a chance to put a bit of a disappointing year and the Euro's behind us, a chance to score a few goals and gain a bit of momentum and a feel good factor in front of a decent crowd at Hampden. Really poor. I know it's a diddy cup but the current Arbroath team shouldn't ever be losing to kids, even Albion Rovers scudded St Mirren B today. Thought we started with the totally wrong attitude and lineup - looked like we thought we would just turn up and stroll it with fringe players and didn't really show enough (any) urgency until we went 1-0 down. They then put 11 behind the ball and it was almost impossible to break them down, nice finish by Henderson at the end though. Thought it was never coming after hitting the woodwork 4 times. Knew we would lose the penalties, you could tell by the body language of the players. Their keeper played well and you just knew he was going to save a couple. I was impressed with Henderson, Low (as usual), Clarke and Paterson but we look totally toothless without Nouble and McKenna on at the same time. Unfortunately Donnelly and Hilson in particular missed a big chance to step up. This would have been a perfect game for Hilson to demand the ball and run at their defence, but he was almost invisible. Dowds looks slow and unfit. Ach well, we can concentrate on the league now I suppose. Just disappointing when we should really have won comfortably today against a very average looking side, by far the weakest side we've played this season so far.

Daniel O'Donnell came to the care home I was working at to visit the old folk. He was gigging in Glasgow that night and he didn't have to come all the way out to EK to spend an hour chatting and singing with (mostly) demented old biddies. No entourage, and no press. He's just simply one of the kindest and genuinely warm hearted men I've met. All of us staff were in tears at the impact he was having. An absolute class act. My brother is a lifelong fan(and Eurovision obsessive.....he's autistic so it's a focussed passion) and we went to see her at a (pretty rubbish tbf) Eurovision concert in Blackpool. Asked to meet her afterwards and she couldn't have been nicer or more genuinely warm with him. My bro can be super intense and she just met it with unbridled joy and enthusiasm. Gorgeous person. Bertie Auld is one of the most charismatic people I've ever met, John Lambie was a lovely, lovely man too. I used to play 5's with Justin Currie of Del Amitri. Cracking lad. Barry Lavety too. He'd put on a fuckton of weight that was sad to see.

I think that after this week, almost all impartial observers would be in agreement that Rangers' PR strategy of ignoring tabloid journalists, trying to dictate to the BBC who their journalists should be, and farming their outreach work to three snidey middle-aged bigots has been a bit of a public relations disaster. I don't see the other 41 league clubs following suit anytime soon.

Last season I was taken aback that the Ibrox club had the 'Heart and Hand' podcast as the sponsors of their Rangers TV coverage of matches, and that H&H chose the player of the match: mind writing it on the match threads at the time here. But on reflection, the club only appears to react to bad publicity rather than prevent issues before they occur, in fact they probably don't see anything wrong with associating themselves with such a group, what with their backing of gatherings such as 'Union Bears', overlooking racist bile chanted or sung by their customers, or ongoing choice of colours for their away outfits and tracksuits. It appears to be part of the club's marketing ploy to encourage a particular type of fan, and/or maybe the custodians at Ibrox enjoy a circus of staunch rage.

Dalkeith down to 10 men for most of the game, had led 3-1 but were pulled back and were clinging on. Great game! Away to Bankies in next round.

I guess there are a lot of possibilities for this partnership type agreement. To give an example, if Falkirk had a commerical partnership with say, a sportswear manufacturer who turned out to be using slave labour, my expectation of Falkirk would be for them to immediately terminate any involvement and offer up immediate condemnation. Since the Heart and Hand story broke, there’s been 4 rangers fans posting in this thread, and myself and AJF both condemned the tweets and the singing - be it found racist or otherwise - and supported the bans on the Union Bears that the club introduced. I get that swinging at strawmen makes life easier, but when you’re castigating the rangers posters on here as ‘a sinister bunch of little oddballs’ it looks a bit self-serving to your argument.
