  1. Using my highly perceptive detective abilities i have deduced that it was Cosmopolitan magazine.

  2. You have been asked this before by another person on this forum and completely ducked the question but here goes again: What are your personal criteria for removal of restrictions then? Given we were told that double vaccination of priority groups was the key to ending these and this has been successfully completed, what more do you need? Total immunity and invulnerability was never defined as a criteria or selling point of the vaccination programme so nothing at all has changed in that regard and in fact, the vaccine is probably better than most folk predicted as so few are now getting seriously ill and dying. I have a sneaking suspicion that it will be something very vague to allow the criteria to shift again once it can be interpreted as reached.

  3. But wasnt there so much hand wringing the other week about how all you had to do was ask and the guidance was ‘clear’ and everything would be fine. So in summary, she is highly distressed in the room with little clarity, the staff dont actually know all the ins and outs, theres no clear policy about getting her out if her fathers death is imminent and its unclear what will happen given her own dramatically declining mental health. Has had to go through lawyers and pleading directly to the health minister because her actual first request was denied? She isnt allowed her fully vaccinated american partner to support her through this awful time, but clearly this is all because the Scottish government just cares. But yeh that wee lassie in Majorca just wanted a holiday. Shame on any fucker who still holds that view.

  6. The quote you posted does not say she visited twice, it says she visited once and they would be "willing to facilitate a plan" for further visits. This will be my last post on this topic. Anyone defending the government in this situation needs to take a step back and think about what they're saying.

  9. I said to myself I wasn't going to post this but it hurts me seeing that park. I was committed and ready for the new season last August. I had prepared it during the summer on my own as Ally had been let go. I had agreed in March to go to half wages as the club were struggling. They also told me I'd get Ally back for the start of the season. When when it came to the time I needed him back I was informed I was to do it myself and they were in talks with BSC Glasgow to groundshare, if that failed Celtic YD would be coming with a minimum 13 games over the winter. So my scenario was, at least double the work and I was to do it myself for the same money. Plus I've been telling them for years the equipment for maintaining the park isn't fit for purpose which was making the job even harder. Didn't leave me with much of an option as I knew I didn't have the extra hours in the day that would be needed to maintain it to a good standard. I got called a disgruntled ex employee on here last year but kept my mouth shut. I take no pleasure in seeing the park like that as I burst a gut over there for many a year trying to keep it playable. Hopefully with a bit of help from the weather and some TLC he turns it around. Apologies for rant [emoji106][emoji106]

  10. It's actually the perfect Scottish political issue. Scotgov can point the finger at Westminster and say the powers aren't devolved. The opposition can blame Sturgeon and the SNP. Both of them alongside Middle Scotland can all wring their hands, shake their heads and agree how terrible it is and that 'something should be done'. Nothing then gets done because nobody is brave enough, no one wants to lose votes, no one wants to devolve powers, no one wants 'their tax money paying for junkies' needles' and ultimately, this issue doesn't really affect anyone who 'matters' in civic Scottish society.

  11. The Scottish Greens have pledged to end the war on drugs and open safe consumption/crisis centres. I'm not aware of any other party looking to decriminalise. Find it funny watching all the Tory supporters here and elsewhere all slapping each other on the back when the boot gets put into the SNP. The SNP have asked for drug laws to be devolved and the Tories keep saying no, because they don't want reform, they want an issue they can beat SNP with. The Tories are as much the problem as the SNP and until we stop making this a party issue we'll get nowhere.

  12. Earlier in the week folk were complaining that the club weren't telling them what was happening about the game. So the club make a statement, giving a full update on the (then) current position and what they've been doing. And follow it up a day later by confirming what they've been told by the SPFL. But now they get accused of wasting their time???? Bejesus. Talk about damned if you do and damned if you dont.

  15. She was interviewed live on The Nine last night, and confirmed that she visited on day 1 and may be permitted to visit again on day 8 subject to negative test results. So only one visit so far with a potential second visit to come. Distressing enough that her father is near death, but the impact on her spirits of being confined alone for ten days in a hotel a few miles away without direct access to support or comfort in these circumstances does not bear thinking about. It's plain wrong on so many levels.

  16. She could visit on day two, and then wouldn’t be allowed to visit for a further five days. What an absolutely horrible post. She could be tested every day and be allowed far more frequent visits than having to sit in a hotel room for five days waiting on her Dad dying. That isn’t putting anyone at risk.

  17. The longer time goes on I realise the Scottish government are just more savvy at hiding the horrible c***s that they truly are. Authoritarian, with a side of pretending to care about disadvantaged groups, without very much action. Extremely lucky they somehow have a much worse lot down south to chuck mud at. In what fucking world is allowing visits on day two and eight acceptable.

  18. Agreed, but what if some of these players live in a flat? Or have a small garden? Isolation means they can't leave the house so how on earth can they possibly keep fit to the level of a full time professional football player when stuck under these circumstances? You do talk some amount of pish to suit your agenda eh. How is it a similar situation? As stated celtic had a huge squad to choose from, meaning they could still pick players that had been training day in day out and not stuck in the house. We are having to pick guys to play football that haven't even stepped on an 5 a side park let alone a full size pitch in almost 2 weeks, against one of our biggest rivals for the title in the opening league fixture which could have so easily been moved even by a couple of days. As much as you have your digs at the club, some I agree with, some I don't, this angle is absolutely ridiculous and any anger should be vented towards the shambles that is the SPFL in this instance, not the club. Really hope all of this gets the team fired up, it may be our only hope of salvaging absolutely anything from this fixture and give a massive up yours to the ones forcing this game ahead.

  20. Just back from a welcome break in the Highlands with very good friends, also of the dark blue persuasion I may add. Whilst there I saw this gable end and realised there is just no escape to the box office effect! Also check out the dark blue window frames. Good times for a change.

  21. Honestly, jokes aside, she's not keen as she feels that I've been branded by her though rather Roxannes man than just Roxanne tbh. The wee man was over the moon with his shirt. At the end of the day, both teams are in the same league and I'm certain £15 wouldn't make much difference either way. The Killie shop was happy enough to do it and we had a good bit of friendly banter. Which is how is should be. Its only a game

  22. If we are it's ridiculous. They haven't signed anyone of note that would make you go oof. We should be winning this league comfortably if we had competent people running the bloody club.

  24. I think it has been adequately answered by a number of other posters. Interestingly, you advised me to take a step back yesterday for the sake of my mental health, and now you are seeking to drag me back in. It’s almost as if your concern for me wasn’t genuine.

  26. We need a thread for DPB to provide the contrarian view on any given topic of the time. "I've always found Pol Pot's supposed intolerance towards intellectuals to be overblown, and was personally given a warm welcome during my stay in Kampuchea, although we obviously didn't see eye-to-eye on economic policy" I take it he's getting mixed up with something he did on his last account.

  34. Kilmarnock seem to forget about their history. When on a few dark nights, three wise men of Ayr took unforgettable gifts to Kilmarnock. Wise man Lyons, gave them a goal disadvantage. Wise man Walker, gave them further disadvantage and a penalty that would go down in history. Wise man Geggan, gave them their most recent Derby defeat and celebrated in front of them, much to their shock. They were the three wise Andys.
