  1. I've said nothing on the women's story but I'll share this with you. My sister passed a couple of months ago she was a long term cancer sufferer. We had family abroad and when it was pretty obvious it was end of life stuff they flew back to Scotland.A quick phone call by my brother to the covid helpline and we had a plan in place to get them out of quarantine and to visit my sister. So basically they landed and we're taking to there hotel to quarantine and within an hour of checking in they had a visit from a testing team. Results confirmed as negative and authorities contacted and next day they visited my sister for the last time. She actually passed away 2 days later and again another neg test and they attended her funeral So basically instead of phoning the bbc she could have spent 5 mins on the phone to the proper authorities for guidance and had the hassle of a covid test on arrival and that's about it

  11. I thought we actually played well yesterday. Probably the better team and didn't deserve to lose. A decent striker and a centre half and we should be absolutely fine. Certainly not miles off as someone who hasn't even watched us yet has suggested. Much more entertaining so far than any game last season.

  12. Sarto without trying to wind you up, your club not playing McMullan was up there with any bat sh!t decision making my club has done. The guy genuinely transformed our side last season. Yeah Charlie was very good most of the time and McGhee a revelation in the middle of the park but for me McMullan’s contribution topped the lot. His genuine pace stretches the game allowing others more time and space to play in and this “cannae cross the ba” pish is just ridiculous. I think he’s now had 15 assists but with better finishing his assist number should be a fair bit more. Without him signing we weren’t going up Thank you very much for Paul McMullan, Thank you very, very, very much!

  16. Paul Dixon is comfortably the best centre back in the division regardless of age, pace whatever. As a left back not so much anymore but there’s no chance that we’ll get a better centre back this summer.

  18. And I'm home! 16.5 hours on the move today, and I wouldn't change a bit of it. Only two slight hiccups today, Glen Scotia distillery was closed by time I got to it after game so I couldn't get a dram to bring home, and I missed the 5pm Gigha ferry by a whisker (I had the wizard idea of getting a quick ferry over and back to break up my drive home). Reflecting on the game, I was quite impressed by Kilsyth, they were pretty ruthless. A lovely bit of skill on the left wing created the goal just on stroke of HT, which broke Campbeltown, and their defending in the second half wasn't the best. Kilsyth looked really fit and well organised. Suspect the Pupils will have better days ahead though, not every opponent will be as ruthless. The set up at Kintyre Park is perfectly fine for Tier 8, and plenty of potential to improve on it as they grow. The big banking along one side gives a great vantage point. The crowd has been announced as "over 200 and sold nearly 100 season tickets today" which is really impressive. Look forward to going back one day! Suspect my next trip will fit round a trip to Islay, but I wouldn't rule out doing the 400 mile day trip again. Recommended! A really fun trip, felt like a mini-holiday (as my sun burn attests). Also a wee word for the town itself. It gets a really bad rep, people say it's run down etc. I'd give it another go if you feel that way, my last visit there was in 2019 and plenty has changed for the better since, there was a definite bustle to the shopping street, lots of independent shops, plenty places to grab a bite to eat or a coffee - great to see a town centre on the up, let's celebrate that instead of putting them down. Some fantastic historic buildings in that town as well, it was great to wander round for a bit after the game.

  25. Wouldn't say Dixons lack of pace is an issue in itself, the problem for me was pairing him with someone even slower who doesn't read the game as well.

  31. Benburb 1-0 Rob Roy could’ve went either way to be honest. ball in the air a lot, not many chances but by no means a boring game. Benburb #5 Ryan Docherty won every ball at the back. New Tinto Park’s wee social club is a gem too. Great day out will do well to find a more animated manager than Paul Lovering - kicked every ball!

  32. I mean as someone who has just been reading all varieties of wild takes on here in the last 48 hours withoutany input, there's not been any worse patter than accusing a lassie trying to get home to her dad who is days away from dying of cancer, of being an opportunist who just wants a few days in Marbs. Then doubling down by pulling out all sorts of legislation as to why she could have just come home when the fact of the matter is that the rules set out are as clear as mud and there shouldn't in any circumstances be a need for anyone to be performing sidesteps and jumping through loopholes to get home in such a life or death emergency. And then without a shred of irony, having the gall to be calling other folk on the thread heartless tories.

  35. Chris Whitty said in the press conference last week that there were no perfect scenarios, but this was the “least worst” - a decent starting point might be to dismantle his arguments and explain why he’s wrong.

  36. Douglas Ross is a massive c**t, both politically and personally. Considering his political affiliations, and the desire for the BBC to remain neutral, I am amazed that OTB felt the need to lick the scrotum of a soft populist nonsense peddler and outright and publicly shamed bigot.

  42. 9th July. Lewis & Harris League. Carloway FC 1 Back FC 9 Cnoc a'Choilich, Carloway. Admission £3. Attendance c100. High flyers Back see off strugglers Carloway and are 5-0 up at half time. Hat tricks for Euan Anderson and Connor Mackay and a double for Stevie Mutch. Joel Martin got the other one while DI Maclennan got Carloway's consolation at 7-0. The second photo looks like a goal, but it's actually the high point of the Carloway keeper's night as he pulls off a point-blank save to tip it over the bar... 9.
