  2. As the person who started this thread I feel kind of responsible for it. Clearly some people have gone absolutely batshit mental due to it. If the Covid discussion had been spread around loads of individual threads I don’t think this would’ve happened. A lot of posters minds have been melted by it all but to be fair most of those people didn’t have much to melt in the first place.

  14. He is a c**t but the government can tell him to pipe the f**k down if they want. They decide at the end of the day. They continue to allow him to spout his nonsense and that’s shameful.

  15. I had to turn the tv over during this story as it made my blood boil, particularly that patronising dick Leitch, who is so far up the Scottish Government’s hole, he acts like he is the voice of the establishment. Surely to goodness the family can get some peace and compassion without this “COVID circus” permeating into the last days of the dad’s life and the family time together? I get wound up over bonkers rules about attending football and getting a bar lunch etc, but this case is simply a step too far and needs sorted no later than first thing in the morning for the family’s sake.

  21. They wouldn't let me speak directly with their vet, they said his condition wasn't good and it was the compassionate thing to do. I do get the impression that sometimes these shelter's treat it like a business, i was raging when they told me but they also do some great work that one in particular is well run. A truly horrible day, informing the owner was tough, lot's of tears from both of us, poor guy had a few delays getting back from California and was jet lagged, I refused the payment for my services from the guy I couldn't take it didn't seem right. I'm going to cuddle the life out of my little guy when I get home tonight.

  23. I'm a funny old fucker, aren't I? It's almost as if human beings have more than one defining characteristic - what a mad concept! I'm never miserable - or at least I don't think I've ever carried that from real life to this wee play area. I have certainly been - and have had cause - over the last few years, but don't bring it on here - mainly because, well, why would anyone give a fúck if I'm having a bad day? Bitter? Oh yes, and for a myriad reasons - you even give me fuel for this. Yes I wish Scottish football had grown some balls and left the corpse of rangers to rot. The acceptance of the Tribute Act as the real thing is a farce farce, and a National Embarrassment. I would be no less happy to see you business partners across the city go tits up, mind - because neither can survive without the other. It's the fucking duopoly which grinds my gears, as it does any "diddy" fan who has spent their days watching coaches taking hundreds of bigots of either stripe to Glasgow, while local clubs struggle. Passive agressive? I'd like to think there's nothing passive about me. And lastly, politics? I'm an unapologetic socialist, and in all honesty, I have never been angrier than I am now - because these cúnts showed everybody what they were like, and got in because Corbyn was seen as a threat to the country. A vegetarian, jam-making gardener. The only reason I'm not as active now is because the stroke I had a couple of years was a result, at least partly, of high BP. I tend to get a bit impassioned in public speaking and political debate, so Mrs WRK put the mockers on that, and my active TU involvement. So, yeah, ranting in the politics forum is a wee bit of a safety valve. So, to sum up: If i come across as a complete arsehole, maybe it is a bit of an act - no tone of voice or facial expression on a forum, after all. Just never accuse me of saying a lot of nice things. Capisce?

  25. I'm quite aware it was a hand-grenade, "TWIMC" rant, but when you throw ourt such an unfocussed, incoherent rant, you're going to hit a lot of random targets. Don't fucking whine if one of them snaps back. I have been active in fighting for our NHS, I have been active in persuading those eligible to take their flu vaccine, and I have been rattling on for years about the need for resilience within our Healthcare system to help cope with a pandemic. That this was necessary was evident not only from the work I'd been part of when formulating HMPS' contingency plabns, but the Government's own Cygnus exercise in 2016, the findings of which were roundly ignored on the simple grounds of cost. You can stick your "virtue signalling" patter up your arse, quite frankly. There are, contrary to your perception, people out here who actually give a fúck about our fellow humans. That's not "virtue signalling", that's caring about others. Being decent, some might say. I'm no fucking paragon of virtue, but given the chance to make someone else's situation a bit better, I'll take it - not buying houses for the homeless, but when there's a lad outside B&M with f**k all but a sleeping bag and a wee dug, is it so hard to pick up some dog food or a wee bag of chews and give him it on the way out? A few pence to you, probably the first bit of kindness he's been shown for hours. Cracking exchange rate, imho.

  26. The interview with Davo on Raith TV is incredible. Honest, funny, emotional. A huge nod to Davie Hancock. He really is a fantastic interviewer. Gets what this club means and brings out the absolute best in the people he interviews. Superb.

  31. I think you’d be surprised how many people think they should be able to do exactly as they want, but that everyone else should act in a way they decide is correct or ‘safe’.

  32. Obviously I hope that everyone's health is fine and that's the important thing, but f**k me what a disastrous start to the season you lads have had. Abomination of a managerial appointment, out the league cup without a ball being kicked and behind pretty much every single other team when it comes to pre season which is massive. Grim.

  34. Good news is that if the cases vs hospital admissions vs deaths history is anything to go by, we are seeing hospital admissions now peak (about one week after cases peak) and deaths will hit their top end around the end of next week and both at a much, much lower level despite the cases reaching around 40% higher at their highest

  35. Finally managed to reach the end of this thread - I could have done without the last twenty-odd pages banging on about racism. So changing the subject back to the football: My biggest regret about the way the Final played out was that Jimmy Hill wasn't alive to see it. I would love to have watched him seethe...

  41. Would also like to make a poignant post. Its been a long time since any of us have been at a game and I'm sure all of our lives have been forever changed by covid. When we stand at kick off on Saturday or whenever we first get our injection of hoof baw shithousery I'd hope that we all take a moment to reflect and think of those that we have lost over this terrible time. LeoMessi, Jerry Maguire, Tutenkamum, Bob FTP Malcolm and of course his Lord and Saviour BU Brian to name but a few. The LL will not be the same with you. God bless you all.
