  5. The 4 months in which we had Stokes, we beat both the OF, scudded Dunfermline 3-0, thumped Dundee United 5-1 and beat ICT 3-1. Those being the ones that standout in my head purely the fact Stokes scored hat-tricks in 3 of them and one of them being an equalizer at Parkhead. The Dundee United, Dunfermline and Celtic games took places within 10 days of each other - in that time Stokes scored 7 goals. Last season we had no forward reach that tally against part time dross 2 levels below the premier league. Stokes provided pone of the most exciting 6 months I've had supporting Falkirk.

  6. This thread is getting too personal for a football forum. Slating opinion is one thing. Slating each other is too far. Please can we keep it football related please?

  7. What a player Arnau Riera was btw. Still don’t think a lot of our fans (and management team tbh) realised just how good he was at the time. Not the flashiest of players or most eye catching but he would just never give the ball away or waste possession.

  9. We really don't know how many people who are in hospital with covid. We are testing that many people that we are bound to regularly see people dying who have tested positive, but their death had nothing to do with covid. As we ease restrictions it is now absolutely vital that we review how we report the numbers to avoid people panicking.

  12. Absolutely- anyone who wants to continue with masks and distancing is perfectly free to do so. Equally, no one has to go to pubs or football matches if they don’t want. But what we can’t have is the lovejoys dictating to the rest of us how to live our lives.

  17. Completely failing to take into account the feel good factor these guys and others such as Krull and Riera brought to the club. It was an absolute pleasure watching players of that calibre turn out for Falkirk.

  20. We might not have won any cups or that but it elevated the profile of the club and in fairness cemented us in the SPL for another season. To suggest that they done nothing for the fortunes of the club is down to perspective.

  24. The power of B teams are such that Jadon Sancho was transformed from a callow youth to international superstar without ever even playing a full game at that level. He was given two run outs (one lasting 45 minutes and the other 54) before going straight into the Dortmund first team. There's been some utterly brain dead pro-B team arguments here and this one is right up there.

  29. Really do wish Rab all the very best for the future, he’s probably been at the club longer than most over the history of the club but there’s been something badly wrong with the goalkeeping at Dens since Bain’s 2nd season at the club where the goalkeeper’s stopped coming off their line, was it down to coaching methods or manager’s decisions That and how shockingly bad our 1st choice keeper was over the last 3 years up until Legzdins.

  33. He's obviously the best Scottish sportsperson of all time. That's not up for debate. People who champion Hoy, Hendry, Dalglish etc are confirmed morons. There's definitely grounds for him be best British sportsperson of all time too. To achieve what he's done in the golden era of tennis is ridiculous. No other British sportsperson has been under as much pressure and scrutiny as him, whilst having to deal with the 3 greatest male players ever in his sport.

  37. Morrison to me would be more suited playing narrow in a front 3 or playing up front in a 2. He has pace, can dribble with the ball and has a powerful shot. His crossing is poor.

  39. No issue at all with results as they don't matter. It's all about personnel and we are short of a few players at the minute. Midfield is the one causing me the most consternation. Hendry hasn't been replaced and I am concerned with Matthews' injury at the moment as it looks like he might be spending some time out as well, with some concerning messaging about us not really knowing how to treat him. Neither of these players are ones you want to be replacing with some 19 year old from a Premiership reserve side.

  40. That'll be a no then. The EU could have included UK nationals living abroad in the withdrawal agreement and allowed them to remain "EU citizens" which would have allowed them to stay in their country of residence without going through the same process as the UK has for EU nationals. They chose not to do this and UK nationals have similar processes to follow to establish residency in the EU. In most cases (such as France, Spain ) the process is more cumbersome than the UKs. There is plenty in the Withdrawal Agreement to take issue with. This really isn't one of them.

  42. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle of the ‘we’re shite’ and ‘it’s too early’ camps. The squad clearly needs more players - we’re sorted in goal and the defence looks improved from last season, but Hendry has left and no CM has come in, we probably need a wide player assuming Zanatta/Coulson aren’t going to boss it, and we have two ‘number ten’ types up front with two young lads. Clearly we’re missing a Ugwu/Duku replacement. In addition to that we might have an issue with Ross Matthews out for an indefinite period of time. None of this would’ve been any less true if we’d beaten Clyde 1-0 instead of losing 1-0. What we can know for sure is that John McGlynn knows all of this full well. He’ll have turned down dozens of strikers in 2019 to wait for John Baird and Jamie Gullan to arrive in September, and Steven Anderson arrived in August when I’m sure he could’ve taken a punt on any old defender between June and then. It’ll be sorted, eventually, I’ve got no doubt. And if it isn’t then it’s because he thinks one of the young lads can step up, like when he replaced 30-goal Kevin Nisbet with a 16 year old from Glenrothes Strollers….

  44. The "we're sorry we upset you" line, that racists pump out whenever they're outed as racists, is something else. It's never "we're sorry for being massive racists and it won't happen again", it's always being folk for not being racist.

  46. If memory serves the largest flag in the world is flown by North Korea near the border with the South. An insecure regime led by a fat buffoon that despite having many people living in poverty spends a large proportion of its income on arms, has isolated itself from its neighbours, and has an obsession with victory in the Second World War, the United Kingdom also has a national flag that is red, white and blue.

  47. That looks so dated now. We're more than half way through her first 100 days and there isn't a sign of Nippy's promised remobilisation recovery plan nor of the bikes and laptops the weans were promised. A few other things missing: -Big Pete. -The ones who may have lied before the inquiry into her botching of Salmond's conviction - Lloyd, Wolfe and Evans. -The £600K -Her memory Some things don't change though - since we had Nippy lying yesterday about the advice given to Scotland fans wrt travel to London. With a discredited and untrustworthy FM and a deeply flawed and incompetent porridgeburo we're decades away from IndyRef2.
