Each and every person at Ibrox and/or George Square yesterday knew exactly what would happen yesterday. Each and every one of them made a choice to defy public lockdown restrictions and police/government pleas to stay at home and behave. Fine the lot of them in the thousands. Every single person there. Make Rangers* cover the costs of the clear up and the extra police costs. Plus the costs for any police officers having to take time off due to injuries suffered. Make an example of the c***s involved. Sharing a city with these c***s is bad enough at the best of times, but at times like this, especially since the announcement Glasgow is staying in Level 3 come just a day before this, it is truly infuriating. No wonder the SNP treat football fans like scum when you see behaviour like this. This behaviour goes beyond supporting a football team. Its a fucking bigoted, horrible, angry cult for a lot of their support. This title win is just a reaffirmation of the shite they spount. And the silence from the club and its staff is deafening.16 points

I genuinely find it odd. Obviously not all Rangers fans are scummy, bigoted swine, but all scummy, bigoted swine are indeed Rangers fans, unless of course they support their sister club. It's daft to say (as I know you're not saying by the way) that to be a Rangers fan is to at least condone or accept the kind of behaviour seen yesterday. I know and genuinely like and respect plenty Rangers fans. It's not fair to judge them for that kind of stuff, or even require them to offer condemnation as if somehow responsible for it. Scotland fans can sometimes behave anti socially, when drunk. I've even seen poor stuff from Queens fans at away games. It doesn't for a moment make me reconsider supporting the teams I do, so - leaving aside the difference in scale - it's probably unfair to expect people to walk away from a team because of stuff they'd never dream of doing, themselves. The thing I think I'd struggle with, however, is that there's nothing incidental in what unfolded yesterday. It didn't just happen that way because Rangers is a big club with lots of fans. It happened that way, as it did in Manchester, because the club has an explicit and carefully cultivated appeal for our society's scummiest elements. I'm not from a family of OF supporters, so maybe I'd see it differently if following one of them was part of my upbringing. I'm guessing though, that even had it been so, I'd really struggle to identify with something that ugly, that provides such a focus for people so despicable. It's bloody depressing though, that so many don't seem to see a problem.16 points

There appear to be some in the Rangers support who genuinely can't see what the problem was yesterday, even though many aspects are blindingly obvious. The affect on those living anywhere near Ibrox, the Clyde or the city centre. The extra strain put on the police and on the NHS (during a pandemic FFS). The undermining of the public health advice in what passes for the 'minds' of similarly inane individuals of the "if they can ignore the rules, so can I" mindset. The "supporters" behaviour directly affects the reputation of the Club. It affects how sponsors view the Club. It affects how "supporters" will be treated at away matches in terms of allocations and crowd control. With any luck, it ought to affect those caught in the act in person or on video, who if they have done anything to tarnish the reputation of the Club should never be allowed inside Ibrox again. From the Club's perspective the most worrying of the lot will be the certainty of action taken by UEFA if anything remotely similar was to happen in a European tie. Tolerating it is simply bad business. Fans need to behave well ALL THE TIME. If they don't like that, if they aren't prepared to do what the Club and 'the game' need them to do, thay should f#ck off and leave sane folk alone. If the Club have any sense they'd let it be known now that they won't be taking up any away European ticket allocations. I don’t want to be sitting here before Christmas typing "I told you so". Do I think I can trust the fans to behave? Pissed up on cheap booze? Does anyone? I'll remind the moronic tendency that after Liverpool fans were involved in the Heysel Stadium riot, ALL English clubs were banned from European Competition for 5 years, and Liverpool themselves were banned for 6 years (reduced on appeal from 10 years). I can just imagine the knots that the nutter apologists would have to tie themselves up in if the Club they claim to be so concerned about gets a multi-season ban. OPEN YOUR EYES. You are being dickheads.16 points

It's almost as if vaccines and the sophisticated human immune system that they kick into action are playing on a different dimension altogether to some shan variant of the same fucking virus. Who could have possibly predicted this outcome? NB: And this is solely based on antibodies present, which is not even remotely the only trick available for a primed immune system. It's past time that heads rolled in the ranks of SAGE and clownshoe government advisors. This isn't just a one-off, everyone makes mistakes in a crisis moment: there needs to be accountability for unelected advisors consistently getting it wrong and needlessly screwing up people's lives across the country as a result. We expect (though rarely get) this degree of responsibility among politicians: it's time that the public health brigade had their tenure revoked and grant funding cut off for making nonsense hysterical claims to advance their own careers. Leitch meanwhile can go back to being the world's shitest dentist.15 points

I was about 14 when I stopped going to their matches. I wasn't comfortable singing about being up to our knees in ****** blood at a football match. Growing up in the southside of Glasgow in the 90s I went for the pure footballing aspect. My brother was about 20 when he stopped supporting them in late 90s to support St.Mirren.14 points

Rangers starting line up yesterday included not a single player available for the Scotland national team. This is how many weeks after they actually won the league? All the games since then have been opportunities to see how their own young highly rated Scottish players fare up against full time pros. Every opportunity for them to play some of their young Scottish talent. Why didn’t they if they are so keen on developing talent for the good of the Scottish game? Actions speak louder than words.14 points

Focussing on the Ibrox club and their efforts to cut down/cut out on the sectarian element, or otherwise, here's three things they could do, but don't: 1) Get rid of orange on club gear, for everyone knows it's really 'Orange'. I recall the old club, around 15 years ago, producing guidance in a booklet handed out to supporters, advising them of songs to sing and requesting they use the colours red, blue and white and no others to show allegiance. Can't recall what that initiative was called. 2) Don't associate with supporters' groups or organisations which use sectarian references. Watching streams this season from Ibrox, I noted the sponsorship from the Heart and Hand podcast onscreen in the shape of a logo, and the excellent Clive Tyldesley mentioned them as choosing the player of the match. I've also seen Union Bears literature which is illegal, why the club allows them space in their ground escapes me. 3) In the past they've allowed some questionable banners to be displayed by fans, but this season I've seen LOL associated materials placed behind the goals. It's pompous behaviour from the club, and shows any inclusive drive to be a sham.13 points

The same group of supporters that were absolutely incandescent with rage that Hibs fans celebrated on the Hampden turf after winning the Scottish Cup for the first time in 114 years. Waiting 10 year to win the league doesn’t even come close and they smashed up their own city and each other. Fucking morons. I’m sure the Daily Record front page demanding action and picking out CCTV images of individuals that caused any damage will be along in due course.11 points

I far prefer Killie's chances over two legs than I would have Countys. I think they'll have enough for Dundee but it will be close. I'll be having btts both legs for sure. I would personally prefer Killie to stay up as it's one of the best away days and two Dundee teams to go away to isnt massively inspiring. Assuming away fans are allowed back of course. Also based on absolutely nothing I'd imagine Dundee will struggle in the top flight next season and I'd expect Killie to kick on a bit with Wright. So maybe I actually want Dundee to win. Havering pish from me here. Apologies to all who have read it.9 points

Celtic had an "invincible" season in that they did not lose a domestic game. That included league and cup matches. Rangers were "invincible" in the league but lost 2 domestic cup ties. Clear enough for you or shall I write in crayon for you?9 points

Obika will be missed. It's probably the right decision, but he was a good, and very popular, player for us. It's pretty clear he was a good guy off the pitch as well.8 points

Having lived all around this "fair and pleasant land" and while there is racism, bigotry and hatred the length and breadth of the country. Christian sectarianism is only really evident in the West coast of Scotland (and NI, of course). It's not a UK wide issue, it's a very specific and very localised one.8 points

There was the chance to end this once and for all, but Scottish football invited them back. Forget all the clamour for the moral high ground about which division they were allocated to. The clubs chose a route to maximise the spread of money during "the journey" and here we are. Did anyone expect anything different?8 points

All thats happened here is that once again, Scotgov have dived headfirst into something without waiting on further data (cold water being poured on the Indian variant not even 48 hours later) in an effort to care harder and be tougher on viruses. When you do that, its often the case that the logic behind it can be easily unpicked and failures of consistency be pointed out, as is now happening, not even 48 hours later. Its a minter for scotgov once again, and now that they have been scared by BuT VaRiAnTz!!!!!! chat into bricking it from a few cases, those who have suffered the longest will continue to suffer for even longer because of the political ramifications of an honest and timely rolling back the current position. Once again we are into the realms of every business that doesnt survive the next few weeks in Glasgow, every job lost etc etc is absolutely on them. But one suspects the rest of the country is going to get a wee shot of the levels yoyo before this is done.8 points

If you picked out the 100 most reprehensible human beings in Scotland you have to reckon at least 86 of them would be Rangers supporters. Last night was inevitable. Being anything other than utter scum is outside their scope of experience.8 points
