  1. You're backing gunboats being set on fishing vessels in the latest episode of a now 5 year long jingoistic fit by the UK government, but sneering about the tone of Scottish nationalism ? And you don't think this lacks self awareness ?

  3. I wish people would stop making Johnson's false argument for him. This is utter pish. We'll end up with 70+ pro indy seats. Settle.

  8. Every Tory seat won is another swing voter waking up in Scotland and realising that the only way to deliver progressive policies is to break up the union. There is nothing else that can be done about it. Labours moved to the left, moved to the soft left, moved to the centre, and it's now going to try and move to the right. Nothing has worked. Nothing will work. England just simply loves voting Tory. Adores it. Cannot get enough of it. No matter what they do, they will be returned to the seat of power because there are powerful classes that demand it. The modern day has known only Tory governments and Blair governments, and there was almost no difference between the two. Effectively forty years of Tory rule. England is a one-party state, and whether unionists realise it or not, that is their biggest problem for the next referendum.

  9. if ever more confirmation was needed of a (expected) good night developing for pro-Indy parties, it is the sight of Detournment trying to kick off currency arguments.

  11. My sources tell me there's a 50/50 chance of an SNP majority, because either they will have one or they won't.

  14. Imagine Keir Hardie or John Smith witnessing traditional Labour voters voting for a tory party led my an eton millionaire who just spent fortunes refurbishing his flat on donors money, just to keep the socially democratic SNP out. In the words of slade...my oh my

  15. I'm not sure if the guy telling Sturgeon that she "wants to turn Scotland into a socialist republic" realises that that isn't the zinger he thinks it is. Sounds great to me!

  16. Tory lad is disabled, to be fair. Don't think mocking his appearance is a great look, I'd imagine if Tory supporters were mocking a disabled SNP member it would quite rightly be jumped on.

  17. If it wasn't for Sludden and the rest of the 87/88 team I wouldn't have been an Ayr fan. Being from Sheffield and watching the results coming in every week and the hammerings that the team regularly dished out got me hooked and have been a supporter ever since. People from down here will ask me why i support Ayr and I tell them why with a smile on my face no matter how strange it would seem to folk. RIP John and thanks for contributing to making me an Honest Man

  20. No, the big risk from Alba is that they might block Greens getting seats. That and that they're a total embarrassment to the cause of independence and will scare people TF away. You know, like when Sillars talked about a "day of reckoning". That kind of thing.

  21. Good old Laura K letting us know Westminster don't need to listen to the SNP if they don't have an overall majority. Off you f**k, Laura.

  24. Sturgeon needs a good, long holiday. She won't get it though. None of us can imagine what it's like to be in her position. If any of us tried we'd be curled up in a ball by lunchtime.

  26. Not really that arsed about the overall result, I just want Alex Cole-Hamilton to lose his seat and end up living in a bin for the rest of his life. Is that really too much to ask for?

  27. 1-2% extra for the Greens is piss-poor if replicated across the board. Nearly half of all list votes in Glasgow wards being piled in the bin because of the SNP's gormless 'both votes SNP!!!!111!!!!' strategy.

  28. Willie Rennie giving it large about how Sturgeon needs to listen to him. He's an irrelevant wee shite to everyone in Scotland apart from farmers in NE Fife.

  29. I don't think you're familiar with North East Fife. It's St Andrews, Cupar and the East Neuk. It's the weekend homes of the people who really run the country. They would be Tories but they hate Johnson and they're not racist enough. The Lib Dems are the acceptable face of moderate conservative unionism.

  32. As a Raith supporter, the sight of John Sludden at Stark's Park used to fill me with dread. He always seemed to score 2 against us, although that may be the mists of time. If the opposition dread you running out at 3pm, you must be doing something very right. Commiserations.

  34. That wording from the Record, though, FFS. "Covid Jobsworths." "Seething." 127k dead in the past 13 months and people implementing the associated restrictions are "jobsworths", apparently. And here are St Johnstone's "seething" quotes: The press really do themselves no favours, do they?

  35. Jackie Baliey saying the labour party increased their share of the votes just as the ticker on the bottom has their constituency vote share in the negative is probably the most Jackie Baliey thing ever.
