  1. Every "unpaid carer" that gets vaccinated, is one more addition to the total vaccinated population which (as long as it doesn't push ahead of a vulnerable person, and at this stage it doesn't), is absolutely the goal here, so fire on. If it bothers you that people have received the vaccine before you to the point where you'd actually have a moan about it, register as an unpaid carer, get your jab, and shut the f**k up.

  2. What a sad life to be looking at people in their 20s and 30s getting their jabs and thinking they're just at it. My gf and I have both had first doses, me because of a prior condition (which has zero effect on my life but am I f**k turning down the offer) and her because she works with vulnerable people. The country's full of paid and unpaid carers, but also full of gormless bitter folk who hate the idea of something good happening to others.

  10. Legend is an epithet sometimes given too freely. In this case, legend is deserved on multiple levels, namely his service to the club, on the pitch and in helping to save the club and devotion to attend Starks Park during his illness. It doesn't seem like 10 years, but here we are.

  12. The Helen Lovejoy's and iSAGErs of this world will be absolutely fizzing at the scenes of packed revellers eating and drinking on the streets of London etc today. Of course, the Scottish Government has decided it's better to ruin the economy some more just to look a bit more safe, for absolutely no benefit, when it's due to be a beautiful, sunny week in Scotland's capital.

  14. A few thoughts... 1) It's democratic because everyone entitled to a vote got a vote. Everyone knew that you don't get a vote in the first year when they joined, and everyone that joined had the same rule. 2) If any club had wanted new clubs to be able to vote in their first year they could have proposed that. AFAIK no club did. So what you're arguing for is a vote in breach of the EoSFL constitution. What's that word you're fond of? Shambles? 3) Even if every club that wasn't able to vote had voted, and had voted for your favoured option, you'd still have lost. You're venting anger over something that would literally have made zero difference anyway. 4) Of course your opinion is for the benefit of the pyramid. Everyone's is. But you're choosing to assuming that your opinion is the only valid one and all others are wrong. Not just wrong, corrupt. That's really, really disrespectful. The decision made wasn't the one I would have chosen either, but this was an issue with no wrong answers and I respect the right of all the clubs to come to their own conclusions. If you can't see how it's fair enough to prefer to end the season now, save the players from a frenzy of football in June, save the clubs from losing more money with matches behind closed doors and be more ready for the new season in July, then it's because you're choosing not to. 5) You're alleging that those who voted null and void did so out of self-interest, but that couldn't possibly explain the overwhelming vote in favour of it. There are obviously clubs who thought this was the right way to go even though it wasn't in their interests. 6) As an official of a member club I think it's pretty inappropriate to be as insulting to other member clubs and to league officials as you've been.

It seems that Germophobia is running rampant as every time I contact one of my friends to propose a meeting they say they are washing their hair that day. No-one wants to come and view the 200 page dossier on the Leitch-Sridhar axis. The struggle continues.

  22. If you try to wear a Glengarry hat to a Scotland game you should be refused entry and your ticket handed to a non-cretin. If you refer to yourself as a ‘foot soldier’ and reference the ‘campaigns’ you’ve participated in, you should be refused entry. If you think putting Fairy liquid in a fountain and flashing local people is the height of patter, you should be refused entry.

  29. Absolutely horrendous choices. The effort we’ve made in the kit department the last few years is piss poor. Just give us the bespoke kit we want and if that means paying more for it then so be it. These off the shelf Joma numbers are pathetic.

  30. I don't really mind if the Greens want to lay down their Republican credentials now, because despite the SNP going to lengths to emphasise their approval for the Monarchy, I think it's inevitable that within a decade or so of Independence there would be a referendum on the matter. I'm not certain I'd be able to call right now how I think that would turn out, but I do believe that after 10 years of not being a defacto part of the UK, that Scots might begin to consider that issue in a totally different light to how the majority do right now. I don't believe there's any scope for a referendum on the Monarchy in Scotland as things stand, but I certainly believe there would be in a fully independent nation.

  36. Yeah, let's act as if there is no difference in some pre-season friendlies to get ready for a league season and getting a league up to 50% by cramming as many fixtures as possible in a short time (which would still require a few weeks preparation for players to get match fit).

  42. Can't be arsed looking up the populations of the many Scottish towns, but with the playoffs in place, it was only a matter of time until clubs like ours were spending at least some time in the farmers / fisherman's leagues (unless we had a significant sugar daddy like Cove, Brora or Kelty). Without the historic involvement with the SPFL, the harsh reality is that we should really be on a par (if not behind) the likes of Fraserburgh, Locos etc. It's actually quite amazing what the club has achieved over the years, and we should be proud of it. The first Brechin game that I can actually remember being at was against East Stirling at Firs Park, and since then I've seen us win multiple league titles, be a replay away from the Scottish Cup semis, get to a national cup final, play at the likes of Tannadice on league business etc. If we end up facing the drop then it'll be another bump on one hell of a rollercoaster ride that I have absolutely no regrets about jumping on.
