  1. Indoor environments that magically prevent Covid transmission from person to person: churches (up to 50); schools (1000+). Indoor environments that are completely unsafe and must never be used: pubs (with alcohol); inside a house with anyone outside your shan 'bubble'.

  2. Daily Cases Update: 5 Days of updates. Well I never. Cases down 22% and positivity down to 2.2%. We are now down 83.75% from the peak. Do we deserve to wait another couple of weeks before only actually returning to shitty level 3 ? Perhaps the 6 people in total who have Covid in D&G and Scottish Borders might disagree. Feel free to quote little sections from below as it is hard to decide what to highlight. Clearly Clacks needs eradicated of the face of the earth. 4. A bit of complacency creeping in to some of our fanbase by the look of things. Arbroath, despite their league position, are more than capable of giving us grief. We're a really good side at the moment but I'm never comfortable with the assumption that we'll easily roll teams over.

  13. Always annoys me when it’s suggested that ‘indoor hospitality’ has been given the green light to restart from 26th April, when what has actually been given the green light is the option to trade as a cafe, coffee shop or alcohol-fee restaurant until 8.00pm. My Edinburgh outlet (for instance) is a bar, restaurant and live music venue with overheads to match, not a glorified ****ing cafe. So, we’ll be permitted to trade under such onerous restrictions that no-one (other than dedicated cafes or coffee shops) can conceivably cover their costs, and this is coinciding with the end of the Strategic Framework grants for hospitality (which provided grants to businesses that were required to close by law, or required to significantly change their operations due to Covid-19 restrictions - the final 2 week grant will be issued on 19th April), so other than furlough there will be no ongoing support for the industry, even though restrictions including curfews, social distancing etc will continue for the foreseeable future. So the grants will have been removed completely, but the raison d’etre for the grants is still very much in place, given the ongoing onerous restrictions, which have (as yet) no end date. Operating under illogical and often counter-productive restrictions without financial support is the place where the hospitality industry will be left marooned by the Scottish government at the end of this month. I know of very few outlets (other than those lucky enough to have outside spaces, which are at a premium in city centre outlets) that are planning to reopen on 26th April. We’ll be reopening on 17th May with a pointlessly damaging and (as we saw last time) completely counter-productive 10.00pm curfew, while our English counterparts can reopen on the same date with no curfew, trading with normal licensing hours. English outlets can open their outside spaces from 12th April, 2 weeks ahead of Scotland btw. Whatever arguments can be made in favour of Sturgeon’s approach, going easier on hospitality compared to England is definitely not one of them.

  18. How could you possibility legislate for that? Which offences would you be allowed to retaliate to without punishment? What degree of retaliation would be acceptable within these rules? Would he still be immune from punishment if he put him in a coma? The important thing here is that if Kudela is found guilty, which I expect he will be, then his punishment far outstrips that of Kamara, which I'm sure it will. If Kamara did assault the guy and it was reported then I don't see how they can turn a blind eye to that though.

  20. I know I should respond but I can’t help myself. So what. There are plenty of established clubs who struggle to get crowds and are held together with hard working local people. Why should we not encourage clubs to be the best they can be. That’s the whole point of the new set up. You have to ask why these clubs didn’t want to join the juniors [emoji848][emoji848]

  21. It always amuses me when diddy team fans get above their station and somehow think they're some sort of bigtime club. A club that have pissed away hilariously large sums of money over the past decade in order to maintain some sort of illusion of superiority over the rest of us diddies, when the reality is Alloa have performed at an overall better level consistently over the same period with 300 fans and a part time squad. Surely clubs like Arbroath and Alloa should be an absolute irrelevance to Raith Rovers, and the fact they're making any sort of noise towards fans of clubs like ours should be viewed as highly embarrassing for those involved.

Aye, I really enjoyed our two games, especially the first as I'd never played online against a human before. 32. Maybe being on here 24/7 for months on end isn't good for some people. Good point. I'd thought it might be the deaths, endless restrictions, being unable to see friends or family and lots of people having to worry about their jobs, but it's The Pie and Bovril Football Forum that's the real bad point.

  33. Going to be honest here. I am starting to struggle with all this shit. Honestly, speaking to people who are peddling the need for passports, spouting off about variants and wanting to be kept safe, reading these utterly pointless, serves no good purpose articles and headlines, I'm struggling to keep a lid on my anger with it all. Its still at the point where criticism of the response is met with "covid denier" chat, but the clear reality of it is we are so fucking far from "protect the NHS" its unrecognisable. I don't know what we are doing here anymore, but I am starting to worry that normal life isn't coming back.

  38. Exactly, and I could understand the viewpoint better if they were joining an organisation where every team is a Talbot or Pollok. The fundamental fallacy is to choose to believe that level is sustained throughout all the sides already involved. Choosing to do do is flying in the face of all the available evidence...for every paragon like the couple I mentioned, there are two or three "traditional" clubs who struggle by with a handful of committee and are unable to make any improvements to grounds that are falling apart either through sheer lack of finance or because the council actually own them, while having a fanbase of twenty old guys who congregate every other Saturday to moan about how It Wasn't Like This In My Day. Full disclosure - the idea of visiting functional 3G cages with minimal spectator facilities isn't my idea of a good time either but everyone has to start somewhere.

  39. Nil and void season leagues remain exactly how they are but all new teams coming in to play in a division below the two conferences let’s call it conference X end of the season bottom 4 from premier relegated to new 1st division. conference winners promoted to premier. 1st division made up of 4 relegated from premier, plus 2-7 placed finishes from both conferences. 2nd division made up of places 8-12 from both conferences plus top 6 from conference x 3rd division would be then made up of places 13-16 from conference A and 13-15 placed from conference B as well as bottom say 11 from Conference X. Division 3 will maybe high in numbers if more teams wish to join we could play each other once then have a split. that gives us a proper pyramid for season 2022/2023 Premier 16 first 16 second 16 third 19ish possibly moving forward 3 up 3 down from each division, could even 4 keep it fresh and exciting, teams will find there levels within a few years. Let’s be clear no one expected this, IMO this is as fair a solution to the situation we find ourselves in.

  41. The replies are so predictable Also an absolute cert that the likes of Leitch, Sturgeon and Sridhar turn a blind eye when cases in Texas continue to fall, because it's only bad things we can learn from elsewhere. The trend in Texas, where they have no closed sectors, mask mandates, distancing or capacity limits should continue to be observed. If it continues to go in the right direction then pressure should be applied to BJ, NS et al to get restrictions and passports to f**k and let people live. Sick of the "we just don't know" pish (and even more sick of it going completely unchallenged), when what they really mean is "we just don't want to know" because it doesn't support the exit strategy they have decided to go down.

  44. They clearly don't cater for occasional listeners or fans who drive to/from games. In the past, the hour before kick off would include team news, maybe an interview or two and then they'd go round the grounds for a preview. You'd listen in the car on the way to the game, find out your starting XI and maybe hear from your manager. Now? They talk endlessly about the Old Firm*, talk about the early kick off even if it was live on the other frequency and have an interview with one manager (usually Celtic, since the "ongoing situation") and you don't get to hear the teams at all or just before/after 3pm. After the game, folk walk back to their cars. For some, this is a car park at the ground but for most this will be on-street parking. Years back, you'd get to the car at maybe 5pm and have the classifieds then each game would have a round up then you'd maybe get an interview or two before the old "Your call" or Off the Ball. Now if you get to the car at 5pm you've missed the scores and any round ups, but you'll have about 20 minutes about the Celtic or Rangers game, even if it was the early kick off. No chance in hell of getting any content on the lower leagues until Richard reads the scores later. There is no point listening to it on the way to or from a game. And if you aren't on your way to a game and listen during the afternoon, you better hope you don't go to the loo or make a cuppa because they will often go for ages during the commentary game without mentioning the score. These are not difficult things to fix and is clearly an editorial decision. I'd say it's amateur but even hospital radio isn't this poor.
