  1. I'm still waiting to see what people who don't have school age children are getting in the trade off.

  2. The fact the article merely focuses on pubs, restaurants and holidays says it all. People just want to see family, be allowed out their local area and have non essential retail and the livelihoods it supports back open but all the focus on is pubs and holidays. A total puff piece aimed at it's core readership, the majority of which are only worried about what they are going to spend the thousands this lockdown has saved them on ! Speak for yourself and the other old biddies. The rest of the population want the above things and the ability to have a cold, crisp pint and a holiday. It's called 'normality'. The gaslighting that the media and government have gone to in portraying this as an either/or choice when all vulnerable groups will be vaccinated is completely ridiculous, but with gormless fools like yourself around it's not hard to see why it has worked.

  3. My wife is getting hers. She has a second mammogram next week - she needs a second op - they used a magseed but have left the clip in her because the magseed was not placed close enough - the lumpectomy only removed healthy tissue. To say she and I are fuming is an understatement. Thankfully the lymph nodes biopsy they took is clear but it means she won't get radiotherapy until around May/June now. She also got a call from the GP today - she's getting her first Covid-19 jab tomorrow.

  6. I find it thoroughly infuriating that all these things that should've been implemented in March last year are now being thrown upon us with the premise that we need to do it to deal it. It's an admission of how wrong we got things last year being dressed up as "doing the right thing" this year. Jackie Baillie can f**k off. She's been an MP and MSP for pretty much all my adult life and I don't remember her chanting about a pandemic plan at any point before now. She's a sly wee f**k, she started closing down our local hospital when her party was in power and when the SNP took over and continued her work, she turned her entire election campaign on keeping the hospital open. She was stood outside my polling booth in 2014 and the delight I felt smiling at her after I voted could only have been beaten if I'd claymore'd her fat wee toads head straight off her shoulders.

  8. People that moan about being on furlough. I understand it from the perspective of being concerned about the possibility of not having a job to go back to, but if your job’s relatively secure and you’re off work and still getting paid then you are/were living the dream. This is especially relevant to the period last summer, I would’ve loved to have been on furlough - I had mates/colleagues who were and had a class time. Then you hear other people moaning about being ‘bored’. f**k me man, how tedious is your life that going to work adds some interest to it. There’s so many different things you could be doing/learning/watching with all that spare time. People who moan about being bored in general wind me up. Cretins with zero imagination.

  9. The idea that we should be forever grateful for the good fortune of having elected a leader who is more empathetic and competent than Boris fucking Johnson (or that Welsh Labour goon) at handling a crisis is risible. It's also worth noting that this empathy only ever applies to politically favoured groups and having a good greet about images of people at Portobello beach; rather than for the people losing their jobs and businesses going tits up because of the SG's rolling lockdowns and generally moronic, token efforts to look stricter than England. At best we're dealing with a 4/10 level of performance.

  12. I like to think I've been fairly level-headed over this ongoing clusterfuck, however if I have to bin a fortnight's hillwalking (literally the easiest activity to socially distance) in middle of fucking nowhere for the second consecutive May, I'll be verging on drawing a cock & balls on the ballot paper. As someone posted earlier, the current existence (and it has over the winter months just been an existence) of waking up, working, going for a walk if the weather isn't pish, then spending the rest of the time in the house is quite frankly shite. I'd be willing to accept it if the roadmap gives some cause for optimism. If not I will quite happily help to construct any rocket with which to fire Jason Leitch and Devi into the fucking sun. I do understand NS's desire to be cautious, but there needs to be a light at the end of the tunnel.

  14. I’m glad that we can finally concentrate on important things like reintroducing the death penalty , blue passports and stopping women from voting. This country’s been going to the dogs for years and people, particularly young people, have had it too easy. They think life is a holiday camp. I died in two world wars fighting for my country and it didn’t do me any harm. #bendybananas

  16. Being an EU Member State in line with the democratic choice of the people of Scotland? Having full fiscal autonomy? Having the same opportunity to elect a government which reflects the way Scotland votes - along the same lines as Ireland, Norway or almost every other country (yes, country) on the planet? That would be a start.

  18. 8 out of 10 for Tuesday. But never mind that. DRUMROLL PLEASE. So excited was I to discover that there exists a set of Cardinal Richelieu themed set of playing cards ... that I've decided to run CARDinal Richelieu's Cup Quiz this Sunday at 8.30pm! None of that Zoom shite, just 52 multiple-choice questions designed to test and tantalise you. There are some great prizes up for grabs, if you count a +1 in your cup column as a great prize. It should only last about 30 minutes. To register, click this link https://myQuiz.org/i/673793.

  19. We sadly lost our dearest boy near the end of November with a blocked bladder that led to failing kidneys and put to sleep, posted him many times on here but beautiful boy was only 7 few weeks had passed and we had said no more cats until after the New Years as it had hit our daughter pretty hard (first proper pet loss) but my sister told us her friend was looking to re-home one of her cats as he was being bullied by her oldest and the second we saw him we couldn’t say no. 23. Again, I’m quite pleased with the way Rangers have handled this, as I was with the Jones and Edmundson fiasco. They were made aware of the alleged breaches, promised to investigate it, kept them away from the squad and have now confirmed they’ll be punishing the players while communicating with the relevant authorities on how best to manage the situation.

  24. Interesting article about Moore in the Record today, worth a read. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/ayrshire/ayr-united-striker-craig-moore-23513105 The guy has had absolutely no luck with injuries, and I was surprised he was as young as 26. Sounds like he wants to stay at Ayr and hopes to be able to play at some point this season. He's clearly a decent player and just hasn't been able to get a run of games together to get any form back. It's hard, given his injuries, to take a risk on him again but I've always liked him as a player and it's not like he's the wrong side of 30.

  26. **Fantasy Golf Week 6** "still haven't found what I'm looking for" Week 6 is likely to be one of the quietest weeks this year, but still produced an entertaining tournament. Daniel proved he's the best sporting Berger since Patrik led the Czech Republic to the Euro 96 semis. Jordan Spieth's comeback continued, not enough to win, but progress being made, shown by the fact that his caddie was in a tree looking for his playing partner's ball and not Jordan's. Nate Lashley's head detachment on the 16th after a 4 putt is also worth a mention. Not many points dished out this week, Spieth, Casey, Cantlay, Day and Knox getting their fantasy teams on the scoresheet. There's no change to the overall positions though, but things have tightened up slightly at the top. Standings 464 @J_Stewart 451 @die hard doonhamer 435 @Ro Sham Bo 404 @alta-pete 399 @lichtie23 349 @Tartan Dave 344 @Erih Shtrep 296 @peasy23 274 @Distant Doonhamer 196 @Henderson to deliver ..... 174 @Honest_Man#1 From famine to feast this week in terms of the strength of field, as almost everyone likes to turn out for Tiger's Genesis Invitational. The big man himself is still injured, but this will probably be the strongest field outside of majors and WGC's this year. We're at the timeless Riviera Country Club, an all American classic. Expertly routed through difficult terrain and in the immaculate condition you would expect from a course a mere driver and wedge away from Santa Monica and Sunset Boulevard. I'm willing to overlook the gimmicky bunker in the green on no.6 for gems like the drivable 10th. Alongside Torrey Pines, it's the only course on tour that uses kikuyu grass surfaces, so alongside those who do well at classic US tracks, expect those who performed at Torrey a fortnight ago to go well here. The fantasy league is going to Hollywood baby.

  30. Thing is, even though he's hardly healthy, he wasn't anywhere near at death's door. He's had it mildly so it's fucking bizarre that they would roll someone like this out, someone who spent 3 weeks in the house with a cough and a fever to tell a cautionary tale. Cases like his, that did not even result in a hospital bed, much less an ICU or ventilatior are not at all relevant and should not even be in the discussion when it comes to what we are trying to bring down.

  44. I'm there. Said they had until the end of the month but f**k this. Will be going to see some mates this week since I'm off work. Will try to organise a few beers with them whilst I am at it. If this is the way they are treating us then they can expect the same contempt back from myself. It's entirely understandable to be concerned about the tone of the announcement today and failure to acknowledge that, even if done cautiously, increasing vaccinations should lead to decreasing restrictions over the coming months. While awaiting the route map appearing next week to get some proper detail on what the plan now is, it's entirely valid to be pissed off at any suggestion that we might end up with further lockdowns even when the vast majority of the population have been vaccinated. However, if your response to that concern is to say that you're just going to sack off the restrictions immediately because you think there’s no need for them and start having house parties, that's not remotely a reasonable reaction arising from annoyance about a lack of clarity or optimism for the months ahead as vaccination progresses. That's effectively saying you think restrictions should all be going in the bin right now, and that would obviously be an insanely stupid position.
