  3. Jonny Hayes signed a new contract specifically so we would get a transfer fee Jonny Hayes hasn't been handed contract after contract despite being injured for half his adult life Jonny Hayes has had significantly more than 10 good games to repay his salary Jonny Hayes doesn't owe his entire existence as a footballer to Aberdeen Football Club Jonny Hayes wasn't raised as an Aberdeen fan, then at the first chance he got jumped ship to a club which is most politely described as the utter antithesis to everything that AFC as a club and a community hold most dear I wish nothing less than a pestilence upon Scott Wright and his career. And his family as well for raising such a c**t of a human. f**k them all.

  12. Managers identify weaknesses in the opposition before every single game, yet it’s incredibly rare for a manager to actually come out after the game and name the players they’ve identified as a weakness. If Gerrard’s actually come out and said that about a 21 year old defender it really shows him up to be a classless c**t. Also, after Gerrard’s meltdown regarding Porteous last season it’s nice to know he’s got a permanent rent free spot in his head.

Ive been very critical of the Scot Gv’t response but I think youre onto plums slagging her off for that, its entirely different.

  15. These posts are predicated on the assumption that everyone in the SNP has been sucked into this argument with well-meaning but misplaced good faith arguments, with the other parties/whoever else made it a live issue to suck in the oxygen sitting back and chuckling at the havoc it's causing the SNP at a time when independence is receiving record support. If we were to accept that premise then the adult in the room knocking heads together to stop infighting would be a reasonable solution and the GRA legislation could then proceed and pass or not by a free vote like any other piece of legislation. However, in reality the issue wasn't thrown in then blown up from outside the SNP by some nefarious actor wanting to derail them and independence. It was turned into such a huge issue within the SNP directly by Joanna Cherry and the rest of her nutter wing containing such intellectual powerhouses as Angus MacNeil and Chris McEleny. That's because, while they do sincerely hold the position they espouse on GRA, they actively wanted to cause a massive amount of infighting over it. They want to do this as they disagree with Sturgeon's strategy on independence and want to create wedge issues to force her out and install Cherry as leader so they can do something far more intelligent, like UDI based on the results of the 2011 election or something equally batshit. That's why it does have the potential to derail independence regardless of the fact that the vast majority of people in Scotland aren't impacted and don't care in any way (although for those it does impact it's literally an existential issue). Sturgeon rising above the fray and not getting involved in it therefore isn't an option, because while Cherry and acolytes sincerely believe what they're saying on this issue their real motivation is forcing Sturgeon out as leader, so even discounting the moral argument of what's the right or wrong thing to do, purely in terms of internal party politics she has no choice tactically but to get involved to try to shut Cherry down. Otherwise they'll just move on to another proxy battle emboldened by winning this one, just as they've been emboldened by the initial softly softly, go slowly for more consulation over legitimate concerns they took over GRA in the first place that stopped it simply proceeding to a vote as you suggest years ago. In the meantime, more SNP activists who actually get out and campaign and are therefore an important part of the electoral machine would be leaving the party as they couldn’t stomach seeing what they perceive to be bigotry going unchallenged, for the sake of appeasing people whose contribution amounts to tweeting Wings articles and accusing anyone who doesn't want UDI yesterday of being yoon plants. The dream Unionist scenario of Joanna Cherry as leader would become ever more likely. In that context, silence from the leadership wasn't an option.

  16. The "the government can't promise things" brigade should also realise, I don't think many are asking for "Is it to be May? Is it June pubs are open?! etc", it's more "What % of folk vaccinated/% capacity ICU are we looking at to loosen things and get to normality/accepting Covid exists". The former is indeed a harder thing for the government's to answer, the latter (if we're talking just domestic restrictions rather than travel) is a very reasonable thing to ask the government to do, considering everyone's lives have been ruined for almost an entire year.

  25. Is anyone else finding it really hard to feel positive or optimistic right now? NS would do well to try and use some positivity in her messaging, if this negativity continues a lot more people will hit f**k it. Ever since we started vaccinations it's been bad news after bad news, and trying to generate compliance through fear mongering isn't going to help rational discussion going forward.

  28. I hate to have this dig here as I know you aren't responsible for it and are likely against all of the breaches which have taken place so far, but see when folk say things like "there's no justification to keep the part time stuff going" when we've seen full time clubs rip the pish out of everyone with players heading out on the lash, players fucking off on holiday without obeying quarantine rules, clubs sending 60 folk over to Dubai for a piss up and others inviting despicable politicians in for a jolly with his family, it fucking pisses me off. What "message" does that convey to the general public when their wee Justin canny get to school? My club is as much a member of the professional leagues as yours. We're offering to test our players as much as full time clubs and deal with the consequences of that. We've already spent as much money as full time clubs on getting our stadiums COVID compliant. When the SG hit their vaccination targets in the middle of February we should be given the go ahead to get started again. The proposal from Leagues 1 & 2 seems extremely reasonable to me and I'll be disappointed if it's knocked back.

  37. This is correct. We will be applying to join the WOSFL for the coming season. We have been talking to the league since around October last year and had a very good meeting with Kilwinning Rangers chairman Colin Boyd who got in touch on behalf of the league. Colin was a massive help and everything was positive from that. We are now working to make sure our new ground at St Matthews Academy in Saltcoats will be ready for the new season. As well as the first team looking to join the WOSFL we will have our under 20s looking to join the Development league and potentially keeping an amateur team and a new under 19s team as well. Exciting times for the club.

  38. It's not so much that I want a positive message to "feel better" but rather that I want to know that, at some point, we will have our lives back. Restrictions are all fine and well in the here and now given the situation in hospitals, but there are several vaccines with more on the way and that should dramatically reduce the number of people in hospital/dying. I'm not asking NS to come out and give a tangible number of hospitalisations required, to ease restrictions. I would like them to come out say there will be some point (whatever that might be) whereby the situation regarding the rate of people being hospitalised is such that we can lift restrictions, that we might not know what that looks like at the moment but we are hoping that the vaccine will help with this and that we will get there. At the moment it is a constant bombardment of fear and emotional messaging which, excuse the hyperbole, is bordering on propaganda with (seemingly given the tone of messages) no end in sight. What concerns me is that the language is no longer about using hospitalisations and deaths as the barometer in their rhetoric. It's about transmission and cases all of a sudden, and there seems to be a blinkered approach to covid. Up until now it has been about protecting the NHS and saving lives - well, if the vaccines do their job (and they surely wouldn't have been approved if they didn't?) then those two things should be taken care of through vaccination. But the goalposts get shifted again to talking about cases & transmission. The goalposts can't keep being shifted, there has to be a point at which we learn to live with it.

  39. Personally? More of a recognition that society has lent them the power to restrict our lives in the way they are doing, and that once the immediate priority of the NHS not collapsing has been satisfied that they will be relinquishing it as soon as is possible. The tone is far too much 'we'll let you out your homes when we're good and ready'.

  40. Apparently Boris will be trying to get into a Scottish vaccine center, I am for once thankful that Scotland trains it's GP receptionists as the world's toughest bouncers. There's no chance he will get past them as I'm sure you have to be dead if you just rock up and expect to be seen.

  44. To use the argument that all the ba’athites are using on its head, it’s amazing that Cherry et al are willing to sacrifice almost nailed on independence just because of their bigotry. Its amazing that Salmond is willing to sacrifice almost nailed on independence just because of his failure to accept hes a dirty lecherous wee man. Saw someone refer to wings over stuarts ego as ‘Rev’ stu, can we please not do that? Its no different to calling Stephen Yaxley Lennon ‘Tommy Robinson’, funny though both have similar personality traits as do their followers.

  45. Yep. Kids are bored acting up, me and the wifes tempers are slowly unravelling and that's with me still working full time and doing extra when I can, so christ knows what it's like on furlough or WFH, not to mention those whose businesses are having to forecast for the post furlough period with nothing but fucking doom coming from media and gov. Iv said it before, Honest man said it earlier but il say it again as it feeds into your point, come about March il be going back to mixing with whoever I want. Whichever of my pals are of a similar mind il be meeting up with them and getting family round mine etc. I dont say this lightly and in recent weeks I have actually tightened up my compliance (which has never been bad by any stretch) but I have about another months worth of patience for this, and their pathetic, mewling patter. Il be taking something back, a fraction of what I would like though it may be, because I can tell now that before too long my head is going to unravel.
