  2. A scandalous decision IMHO. We’ll just have to win both games 4-0 now. Seriously though, I don’t think you’ll find many ‘Well fans that thought we should have been awarded the points in the first place, but how this final (correct) decision has been arrived at is pretty farcical and another mark against the folk that run the game.

  5. Heard from VERY reliable sources that Accies will be taking this to the High Court with the help of a respected lawyer called Leslie Deans. St Mirren won't stand a chance and we'll get the three points back before tomorrow's game. I can't say anymore though.

  8. You'd be forgiven for thinking Hearts had some radical, Scottish football saving, reform up for grabs last Summer, and not just two extra clubs in one division for a season, with nothing else changing.

  9. Good news in Mick McArdles update , all players fit and all players and back room staff had no issues with Covid test results

  10. The punishment is an outrage . No club in Scotland has ever forfeited a League game with s 3-0 deficit due to being 'unable to fulfil a fixture'. Flu, frozen or waterlogged pitch or any other reason means a reschedule. Why, if the illness is Covid and not Flu, should a 3-0 forfeit be imposed? All SPFL Clubs were asked to vote on a motion of a 3-0 forfeit. This motion was rejected by the vast majority of clubs voting against. Yet the SPFL Board, in direct contravention to the wishes of its members, imposed a 3-0 forfeit. Yes, we got things wrong about Covid, like many Clubs, however we are being punished for being 'unable to fulfil' a fixture and there is no precedent for such an outrageous punishment nor any logic to it.

  13. I don't get the clamour to have football stopped because other things have stopped as well. The whole point of the restrictions are to ensure public safety. Football without crowds is a low-risk activity - the number of positive tests we've had in the top two SPFL leagues this season are very small. Stopping a low-risk activity just to show some kind of weird, twisted solidarity with other industries that cannot open because they are high-risk is daft.

  14. Joking aside, I remember thinking that at the time when St Mirren had 2 or 3 positives the week after of guys who played in the game. I wondered if they had been already affected by it without realising. Still the biggest mystery of the season is how you got something out of that game. We were two up and should have been about 4 up before you even started. And yet, you're in the semi final now! Good luck.

  18. This, and the comparison made with New Zealand, show exactly how venal and deperately incompetent this fúcking circus in Government are. Where there are examples all over the world (with the glaring exceptions of USA, Brazil, Belarus and , er, UK) of Governments taking prompt , difficult decisions which prioritise the fight against this virus, Johnson has, at every step, asked himself, "How will this look on the front page of the Mail?". It has been played all the way along as political theatre and a PR exercise - "world beating", "Project Moonshot", "clap for fucking heroes*" Uncle fucking Tom and all. Meanwhile, the death toll continues to rise as the media reports the UKG taking prompt action by banning flights from a select few countries TEN FUCKING MONTHS after they should have imposed at least rigorous border checks if not a complete ban. Some of my mates, ribbing me due to my left-leaning politics (or common human decency, as I see it) asked me, laughing, "well, what would Corbyn have done?" The answer to which question is, simply, he (or whoever led a Labour Government) would have dealt with this as a Public Health Crisis, not as an endless procession of profit opportunities. Labour may well have fúcked things up, but they wouldn't have done so because RLB's cousin was churning out hooky PPE from a shed in Eccles, or because Ian Lavery knew a guy who reckoned he could run a T&T system on Excel from his laptop. What the fúck is it going to take for the GBP to get with the torches and pitchforks? *Apparently, I am one of these "heroes". Well, with the greatest of respect, FB Maws, shove your applause up your arse and vote for a party who won't cut your "heroes" pay and conditions. If you could do that, that would be nice. xo

  20. Let's dangle a bit more bait, then.. Tories are vermin. They survive by preying upon the workers of this country. Parasitic scum. I make no apologies for this description, which includes all of them, from that cűnt in No 10, through their elected representatives at all levels, to the idiotic Mail-reading workers who believe that the people after their money and lifestyle arrive in rubber boats rather than private jets and ministerial cars. Cűnts, the lot of them.

  21. No danger is a McPake managed side with Flapjack in goal getting up via the play offs anyway The anger from Hearts fans could power the national grid for months The resultant trolling by the rest of P&B but particularly the St Mirren lads would be sensational Falkirk fans seem quite an angry wee bunch as well There will probably be some sort of loonball statement from Partick I believe these are all sound, and mostly very funny reasons for voiding the season.

  22. This is a serious point - the football is the only place as a grown man that it's vaguely acceptable for me to still stick the fingers up at a random and shout mindless abuse - that's what I'm really missing when all's said and done. I haven't called anyone a fucking rat in almost a year but never a moment goes by when I don't think about it..

  23. I think one of the worst bits about this season is that I haven't even had the catharsis of shouting abuse at c***s. Might open the window and start shouting at the neighbours.

  33. Another day on and Scotgov misleading the public with this R Rate is 1.4 bullshit. The lag on my data is 3 days and I estimate the R rate at around 0.98 I stick to this point that I believe it is currently fear that they are using. Please remember all those commenting that these figures are a 7 day rolling period that are 3 days in arrears. So I am NEVER talking about YESTERDAY as some posters keep referring. There is no LAG in these figures only a fixed 7 day period. Anyway 5th Jan to 11th Jan was 267.4 cases per 100K population with confirmed positive tests. 6th Jan to12th Jan is down to 248.1 a substantial drop of 7.22% !!!. We now have a sustained drop of 17.83% since the peak figures 8 days ago. Another good single day change for many councils as 5th January is dropped and replaced by 12th January. Numerous councils now below 200 cases per 100K which is well under what Glasgow & lanarkshire etc was at in the Autumn. I will probably do a council real performance over these 8 days in due course but the usual 1 day summary for now. Huge drop in cases (Over 10%) Aberdeenshire (Down 16.85%), City of Edinburgh, Dundee City (Down 15.09%), Inverclyde, Midlothian (Down 16.32%), Moray, Western Isles (Only 1 less case), Orkney Isles(Only 1 less case), Renfrewshire (Down 14.01%), Scottish Borders (Down 14.95%), Large drop in cases (Over 5%) Dumfries & Galloway, East Ayrshire, East Lothian, Falkirk, Glasgow City, North Ayrshire, North Lanarkshire, South Ayrshire, South Lanarkshire, Small drop in cases (Under 5%) in Aberdeen, Angus, Argyll & Bute, East Renfrewshire, Fife, Highlands, Perth & Kinross, Shetlands, West Lothian No Change in cases in No Councils Small increase in cases (All under 5%) East Dunbartonshire, Stirling, West Dunbartonshire, Larger Increase in cases (Over 5%) Clackmannanshire, Huge Increase in Cases (Over 10%) No Councils

  36. If we're piling on to the Tories (as we all should on a regular basis) then I'd like to add that they are all absolute scum, total pieces of shit who have no place in decent society. I'd dearly love to see them each take a hard punch to their horrible pusses.

  38. As a Ross County fan who accepted relegation several weeks ago, I don't think I'd kick up a fuss if they called the season now - we're objectively the worst team in the league. Although I'd point out that it's not the exact same situation as last season given there's more games left (in County's case, 15 compared to 8.) and there's less points separating County, Motherwell, Accies, and St Johnstone, than there was separating Hearts and Accies last season. What I wouldn't do is embarrass myself online and in public like a large number of Hearts, Partick Thistle, and Falkirk fans did. I certainly wouldn't spend months on here having a tear stained meltdown.

  39. During his first season I was stood in line with my son for the kids Christmas party at Pittodrie. The club held one for the staff in one of the other lounges. He turned up with his with and child but the lassie on the door didn't recognise him and asked him to join the queue. Politely stood in line behind me without causing a fuss until one of the other members of staff came down around ten minutes later and asked him why he was queueing In that position it would have been so easy for someone to kick up a fuss but he probably didn't want to embarass the lady. I've always had a lot of time for him since then.

  40. I think the club and fans will be devastated, if they are licenced, win promotion to the Lowland League and possibly even SPFL within a few years. I'm sure they'll be thinking, "we may well be in League 2 now, but our WoSFL title will forever be tainted because some clubs chose to sit the season out."

  41. Can’t say I agree with this. An island is an island doesn’t really matter how isolated it is. You can stop planes flying in and ferries docking just as easily in the UK as New Zealand. It was a question of will and realising the enormity of the problem we were facing. Johnson failed miserably.

  43. Listening to the interviews on DeeTV - Much better quality now that it's done remotely and you can hear what the interviewer is asking. One guy is a complete waste of space with Charlie Adam and asks, 'Do you still think you can catch Hearts?' in a completely incredulous tone and then follows it up by asking, 'There's obviously some surprise that Celtic haven't recalled Jonathan Afolabi...' Charlie doesn't rise to the bait for either question, thankfully. McPake confirms that one of McDaid or Kerr are back from self-isolation the other should be back today all things going well. Confirms that we offered Nicky Clark a PCA but says he's not the only player he's after. On McMullan he says that he's been signed with a view to coming in during the summer and that nothing has changed in that regard as 'budgets were slashed and players took pay cuts so Paul McMullan is still a Dundee United player.' Confirms that the financial uncertainty is throwing up opportunities where clubs can't quite offer their best players new deals just yet and we've got our eye on a couple of those as it gives us a chance to look at. Goes on to say that there's players in contract that we are also looking at. Says don't expect anything this window especially since we can't put players out on loan thus strengthening our budget so we're more looking to the summer. Adam Legzdins is back training, but Saturday might be too soon for him to be in the squad. Jakubiak has had surgery and is progressing well. Everyone else is healthy.

  44. Have we not mostly focused on care homes and staff first which take more time to administer? We've done 80% of residents and 55% of care home staff. I can't remember the stats for down south but it was definitely less.

  45. The 'precedent' of last season was that it was voted upon, not the outcome of the vote. Therefore any voting doesn't have to produce the same result, only that a vote is held at all. The clubs only have themselves to blame for this situation this season. They refused to give the SPFL the power to make decisions and also refused to put forward any of their own proposals. As we saw with Hearts' numerous garbage reconstruction proposals last year, clubs are welcome to submit their own ideas on things, yet, as far as I know, not a single one of them have put forward any sort of proposal in regards to what happens should the season have to ended early.
