  1. “Her Majesty’s Government” That club is honestly weird as f*ck. Obsessed with a corrupt institute that doesn’t give two shits about them. A strange, strange bunch of people. Like, the gesture is appreciated, but calm the staunchness for one second, eh?

  2. Do people still consider Todd to be in any way credible? I came into this thread many, many months ago when he was listing the daily death/icu figures and 7 day averages as if they were the football results. Presumably to try and demonstrate that this wasn't now, hadn't been in the past and wouldn't be in the future a public health crisis. Every position he takes starts with his conclusion i.e. SNP/SG bad, and works back from that. Interpreting information to support whatever his pet narrative is on any given day. Remember his disparaging references, back when numbers were low, to anyone who even contemplated the possibility that the virus hadn't vanished as "second wavers"? Now he has progressed to referring to people who don't follow his, utterly inflexible, take on things as "simps". The arrogance of his assumption that he is right all the time is astounding. It's easier said than done, as this rant is evidence of, but his cod epidemiology is best ignored. He's nowhere close to being as clever as he thinks he is.

  3. If you go back to this time yesterday, before you flooded the thread with absolute fucking shite, you'll see I did post about it, and the requirement for pathways/routemaps.

  4. Of course life will never return to what it was like in 2019. Football crowds will of course return if it was a place bad for transmission of a virus like this it would also be a hot bed for flu, it's not. What do you mean who would go if you might catch your death? Lots of people have sadly died in football stadia, usually because of a crush it doesn't put people off in the same way people make hundreds of risk based decisions every day. As for social distancing for life, there is no chance! It would be illegal to have sex with someone you don't live with so either your population falls off a cliff or inbreeding rockets. Not a problem in Fife but the rest of you might not be so pleased.

  8. I wouldn’t be too concerned about fans of other clubs Jinky. There’s nothing Celtic could do to cause us to dislike them any more than we already do. Nothing they do will surprise us or cause us to dislike them any less. That applies to their rivals too. I think that Celtic have become a sick and perverted parody of the great club they once were about fifty or more years ago. Both Glasgow giants have ruined our game and many an aspiring talented player also, ably aided and enabled by inept governing bodies and certain foolish chairmen (Milne, Aberdeen: voting structure).

  10. Another day on and Scotgov misleading the public with this R Rate is 1.4 bullshit. The lag on my data is 3 days and I estimate the R rate at around 0.98 Please remember all those commenting that these figures are a 7 day rolling period that are 3 days in arrears. So I am NEVER talking about YESTERDAY as some posters keep referring. There is no LAG in these figures only a fixed 7 day period. Anyway 4th Jan to 10th Jan was 271.7 cases per 100K population with confirmed positive tests. 5th Jan to11th Jan is down to 267.4 a small drop of 1.58%. We now have a sustained drop of 11.43% since the peak figures 7 days ago. Another good single day change for many councils as 4th January is dropped and replaced by 11th January. Numerous councils now below 200 cases per 100K which is well under what Glasgow & lanarkshire etc was at in the Autumn. Huge drop in cases (Over 10%) Angus (11.88%), East Lothian (Almost down to 100 cases per 100K), Moray, Shetlands, Large drop in cases (Over 5%) Aberdeenshire, Clackmannanshire, Dumfries & Galloway, East Renfrewshire, South Ayrshire, Small drop in cases (Under 5%) in Aberdeen, City of Edinburgh, Dundee City, East Ayrshire, East Dunbartonshire, Falkirk, Fife, Highlands, Inverclyde, Midlothian, Renfrewshire, Scottish Borders, Stirling, West Dunbartonshire, No Change in cases in Glasgow City (Still very high so this should be doing better than 396.9), Orkney Isles, Small increase in cases (All under 5%) Argyll & Bute (Only 2 more cases), North Ayrshire, North Lanarkshire, Perth & Kinross, South Lanarkshire, West Lothian Larger Increase in cases (Over 5%) No Councils Huge Increase in Cases (Over 10%) Western Isles (Only 1 extra case)

  14. I think there is a genuine argument that if we have to stop the two lower divisions with no consultation due to the impact of the virus then you have to question why the upper divisions are exempt. I don’t see the testing as anything more than a low grade mitigation given that a third of the teams in the top flight have already had cases and struggle to behave themselves. Add to that the Championship clubs will now be in a similar situation with some of those clubs including part time players. For me you either suspend top flight football wholesale or you don’t. None of this pick and choose based on size and perceived importance.....

  16. Astonishing stuff. I don't REALLY want my vaccine at 4am when I could have it at 8pm. But if by getting it at 4am frees up a slot for someone else at 8pm then I'm 100% up for it. Basic stuff surely? We need to throw the kitchen sink at this, and to have him advocating doing it during fairly normal working hours is mystifying. Bordering on troubling in fact.

  18. Gordon Brown is the most overrated political figure in the UK. A youthful socialist, he and many of his Labour contemporaries soon sniffed the career coffee and became a fully paid-up Atlanticist. He bankrolled Blair's illegal war in Iraq and struck a grubby deal to enable him to become an UNELECTED Prime Minister. Since being papped out he's tried in vain to become Scotland's conscience. A superannuated fud, of appeal only to Archie MacPherson and a few elderly acolytes.

  23. Usual smug, patronising pish from him. If it means that everyone can get it days, if not weeks, earlier, and therefore help everyone's life get back to normal sooner then, yes, I would take it at 4am, and I would expect this to be the majority view.

  24. Re: the vaccines, a 'UK Government source' claimed via Newsnight last night that they want to keep the progress and schedule under wraps because otherwise the big, bad EU would divert vaccine supplies from big pharma to their own programme. Absolutely risible, dog-whistle drivel being churned out without any analysis on the BBC's flagship current affairs show.

  27. This is braying nonsense, because while we cannot produce magic double-blind studies to prove findings, we can still infer what we need to know to make reaaon-led decisions from the data that we have. Such as our civilisation's entire, gathered knowledge about how viruses and human immunity both work. This idea that we ever needed to 'wait and see' until someone published a paper to confirm that yes, being infected by Covid confers you with immunity from Covid just like a vaccine does has been utter nonsense from the start. You establish a set of priors for how the disease will play out and then you adjust those according to the live data for infection rates and severity. We now know who it impacts, we know that there are at least three vaccines in play already - we really do not have to drum our fingers until we're absolutely, 100% certain that no possible harm will be done to anyone anywhere by lifting restrictions before proceeding, based on an objective measurement of costs to benefits of doing so. We would not tolerate this level of neuroticism for any other issue that impacts society.

  31. The sheer sense of entitlement is astounding yet not one bit surprising. If that was a live interview his comments and choice of words could perhaps be excused but it was clearly edited and Lawell has watched it and gave it the go ahead. Claiming the current situation has affected Celtic more than others when other clubs are fighting to stay afloat just shows that football club up for exactly what they are, deluded, entitled arseholes.

  32. Have you any idea how much of a debacle a Zoom meeting with (at least) 44 people in it would be? I've done Zoom meeting with about 8 people in it that are a complete rabble with people talking over one another. I would have thought it made sense to try to get questions in advance so there was clarity of the question.
