  1. I find the idea of taxpayer funded intensive healthcare for some moron who thinks that their back of a fag packet concern is sufficient grounds to not take a vaccine more than 'unsettling', so here we are.

  2. I have zero issue with the anti-vaxxer morons being barred from mixing with the rest of society until the virus is eradicated. f**k them.

  6. Reading Pozbaird's contributions in the early days of the Rona thread were worse than dying an oxygen-starved death of Covid. Multi-paragraphed, horrendously boring anecdotes of utter nothingness littered with da patter. Dark days. I used to tune into the news at 6 every night to look at the new daily death toll just to cheer myself up.

  8. She tweeted about donating money to We Are Fair Cop, who are frankly a shower of terrible transphobic b*****ds. She criticised Forth Valley Rape Crisis Centre for providing support to trans women who had been raped. This was their response: Standing up for rape crisis services | Blog | Rape Crisis Scotland When someone called Lily Madigan, a trans woman who is a Labour official "a bloke", she replied "Spot on". There was an article in the Edinburgh Evening News on Monday about a 16 year old trans kid who had been trolled online. Someone replied on Twitter that they were sceptical whether it had happened and she liked that tweet. She's blocked that kid on Twitter. She refuses to use requested pronouns, which is just fucking ignorant, really. On top of that, she's generally an omniarsehole. She praised Neal Hanvey while he was under suspension, saying he had only been "suspected" of anti-semitism. She's been accused by her staff of bullying. And there's no doubt she's been working to undermine Nicola Sturgeon behind the scenes. As for the GRA, the problem isn't her opposing it. The problem is why. If she had concerns about prisons and sport they could be dealt with in amendments. But she's not interested in that because she's not trying to protect cis women, she's trying to demonise transgender people.

  9. Oh yeah, and on this. They don't want to allow trans women to use women's toilets in case men pretend to be women to get into a women's toilet and attack them. Well, it's not like men have to go to such lengths to attack women at the moment, is it. It's as stupid as the argument against burkas that there could be a man under there. But more importantly, what they're really saying here is that someone who looks like a woman, sounds like a woman, dresses like a women and has lived as a woman all their adult life should be forced to use men's toilets. Not only is that completely degrading, it's obviously a massively higher risk to them than allowing trans women to use women's toilets is to cis women. In any case, when that argument is made the mask very, very often slips and you soon get to "people born with penises shouldn't be allowed in women's toilets."

  10. Utter, utter rubbish. If your refusal to treat a particular illness means you're then a danger to others then you lose that right. If you had regular blackouts caused by a treatable form of epilepsy, refused treatment, would you say it's your right to still get behind the wheel of a car?

  17. *Shameless self promotion time* To mark 20 years at the Rock I spoke to Sir Patrick of Flannery for this week's Lennox, and we have a two page spread with him looking back on his time with the club. It has some smashing old photos (I basically dragged over every single one I could find) too, so plenty to keep you all occupied for at least five minutes. Please go out and buy a copy. It will help me put more magic beans in my car this weekend to ensure I don't have to walk to Firhill.

  18. You do realise that it's not Boris Johnson and Nicola Sturgeon travelling round all the labs and whipping the scientists to make them work faster, aye? The notion that either government is going to somehow circumvent the tried and tested scientific procedure which is set out in legislation is absolutely anti-vax moonhowling nonsense.

  19. Somebody suggested this needs its own thread, and given how much attention the topic has been taking away from the joy of purely and simply laughing at Celtic, I feel they are probably correct. For what my own thoughts on it are worth: There’s always been a big part of me that has cringed at folks up here in the Highlands who support either of the Old Firm, but I also recognise everyone has a different story of how they end up behind one team or another. I still remember at primary school I really wasn’t interested in football, but almost all my mates used to ask “Who do you support, Celtic or Rangers?” (Rarely were other options presented). I usually responded with “Which one do you support? ...Yeah, me too.” Only when I went to secondary school, and a mate said “You should come along to the (County) game this weekend.”, did I do just that - and I’ve passionately followed them ever since. I took a year out between school and Aberdeen uni, working down near Stirling and ended up alongside 3 Aberdeen fans - 2 from Tillicoultry, the third I don’t recall where from, but also not Aberdeen! I don’t know the full story of how they ended up supporting Aberdeen, but part of it I believe was in protest at all things Old Firm (but possibly still with the hope of at least a little bit of glory...?) ANYWAY, influenced by those guys’ passion and knowing I was going to spend a few years in Aberdeen, plus with County still playing in the lower leagues, I adopted Aberdeen as “my premier league team” around then. That was fun, but it wasn’t forever and I couldn’t care less these days (other than that I would welcome anyone but the Old Firm winning the league some time). My mum being from Leicester and my cousins living there, I’ve always had a soft spot for them and loved them winning the league, but again it doesn’t bother me too much either way how they do. Finally I studied near Bournemouth for a while, and kind of adopted them while I was in the area as well. (Oh, the shock of seeing DEREK HOLMES again! ) Anyway that’s a bit of my story. And we all have one. Some (quite possibly most) of the “Not from Glasgow but support *OF*” are without doubt glory hunters, but probably not all. Finally I believe the “Who my dad supports” factor can be huge, and whilst there’s likely at least one glory hunter somewhere in the family tree, can a 5-year old from Tain who “picks” Celtic because his dad is mad for them and he’s never been presented with any other options really be accused of being a glory hunter? Discuss / be disgusted.

  20. Is there folk thinking choosing the highest ranked club in the actual area you live in is the same as folk from all over Scotland clamouring to support 2 clubs from Glasgow who just happen to be the most successful, and in many cases being sporadic or complete non attendees of live games? Holy f**k.

  22. It’s just so short sighted. Imagine we were going to play East Fife and they put the prices up, everyone would be annoyed. I fully understand it’s within the board’s remit to change the prices, but they seem to have failed to understand that it’s within Dunfermline fans’ to say ‘f**k you’.

  26. Given that we have raised the issue to the authorities ourselves and are investigating, it looks like it may be either an individual or a supplier. If it's not playing/management staff then the sums involved should be relatively minor. It also says we do this annually, so hopefully it won't be a long-standing issue.

  29. Every single thing that happens on a pitch has to be somebody else's fault. Analysts and idiots on twitter will always make out it's a defenders fault for every single goal. A recent one that annoyed me was Christie's goal in the cup semi a few weeks ago, it was just a great strike, nothing you could do about it but Sportscene were slagging Considine (I think) for giving Christie too much space and saying he should have went out to him. If he goes out to him then Chrsitie has an easy pass into the box to the winger who would get at least a shot on target or can play the ball across the goal, if this happens then Considine would have been slated for going out to close down Christie. Football these days just seems to be over analysed, there's stats for every single thing a player does on a pitch, it's not a particularly complicated sport, your average fan can see what's happened, who is at fault, who done well etc. Won't be long till we're watching highlights of a match that last longer than the match itself.

  30. Quite impressed we've got to Page 2 without a meltdown or banning tbqh. Anyway: Best Poster: I think @MixuFruit is a fair shout here. Generally posts insightful stuff and correctly views Andy Wightman as a god of sorts. I also enjoy @invergowrie arab and @Gnash's contributions on the Hillwalking and Cycling threads. @virginton unceasing ability to turn other posters into raging messes with barely any effort at all remains impressive. Worst Poster: @Sinner-to-Saint, @Pet Jeden / @8GamesToGo and @Gorgie greatness were all absolutely horrific efforts. Pet's mewling nonsense and Gorgie's ability to reach Junior forum levels of incoherent posting were initially funny but soon wore thin and no one could argue with richly deserved bans for Jeremiah and Pet. Honourable mentions also to @Steven W for somehow shoehorning the fact that his wife has managed to fire out a couple of c**t turds repeatedly into the Covid-19 thread and @The_Kincardine's commitment to repeatedly spewing hateful anti-Scottish (and anti-factual) bile all over the Politics sub forum but the clear winner has to be JTS98, who spent the entire summer relentlessly trolling the reconstruction threads then somehow ended up posting a load of self-pitying pish on the now lamented Headsgone Thread. Good fucking riddance. Best Thread - The Hearts/Reconstruction thread was up there almost with the Rangers administration thread with some absolutely terrific meltdowns from Hearts posters, however recent developments suggests the "Let's all laugh at Celtic" thread has magnificent potential. I'd edge towards the former though, with the St Mirren contingent indulging in some absolute god-tier level trolling of Hearts fans. Worst Thread - Someone suggested a visit to the Clyde thread on the Headsgone one a few months back. I should have actually added visiting a Clyde thread to the "Done Once, Never Again" thread. Mental. Worst P&B Couple - Without question it's @strichener and @Baxter Parp. Instantly turning every thread they post on into an unending back and forth of absolute eye-rape that no one cares about. Almost enough to make me pine for the glory days of Supras and H_B on Misc Fitba. The Stop Fucking Digging Award - @D.A.F.C for his erm, interesting thoughts on BLM, and subsequent doubling down. Weird. Most Deserved Ban - A tough one to call as many well-deserved emptyings have been handed out. However the emptying of outright bigot and Tommy Robinson fanboy @sureiknow was fine work. Poster I'd Bring Back - I don't think he was binned this year, but nonetheless @Jimmy85 relentless and outright abuse of Old Firm fans was fucking brilliant and I would be pleased to see such a return to form. I can't be arsed with any more categories.

  37. Can I just say, as someone who has dealt with sexual assaults of all types and levels for over a decade that I can genuinely recall one transsexual person being done for a sexual crime which didnt occur anywhere near a female toilet or changing room (think they threw a condom at someone outside). if a sex offender of any gender wants to sneak into a toilet and abuse someone they will regardless of the legislation in place to recognise determination. The chances of this happening are the the same as if the legislation wasnt passed.

  39. To give you one example, Cherry boasted about donating to a group called We Are Fair Cop. This is a transphobic hate group that doxxes children and pushes thoroughly transphobic views online. I would compare them to someone like the EDL. Folk are making the mistake of thinking this is about the Gender Reform Act. It isn't, that's just part of the battlefield. Folk like Cherry and McAlpine aren't just opposed to the GRA, they're opposed to transgender people. They don't believe transgender is real and they regard trans women as potentially dangerous perverts. It's all very similar to how homosexuality was views in the 1980s, when it seemed to increase in prominence but before there was widespread acceptance. I remember folk saying gay people shouldn't be allowed in changing rooms and toilets, or in prisons with people of the same sex. There were a lot of people who thought gay men shouldn't be allowed to work with children. It was all done under the guise of protecting people, same as the transphobes say they're trying to protect women. Imagine what we'd think now of a party that put homophobes on its ruling council. In the 80s the Tories did some heinous shit like Section 28. Folk like Cherry don't just oppose the GRA, they stir up hatred against trans people and I'm sure they would go much further if they could and remove rights that already exist, like treatment on the NHS.

  40. Love that you're basing your analysis of the most important vaccine of our lifetimes on info passed on by "yon lassie on the transistor". All for the SG making this mandatory to use certain services/go on holiday, stops morons like you from killing people and probably makes your head explode at the same time.

  41. I was reading an article last week addressing this and, specifically, the concerns amongst some that this has been found within 9 months when most vaccines take ten years. Essentially, most of the ten-year process for other vaccines is spent applying for, being rejected, and re-applying for funding to actually do the research in the first place. The amount of actual medical research / trials is nowhere near ten years and is usually carried out by relatively small companies. The fact that the entire medical community has been focused on finding this and have had pretty much unlimited funding is why this has been able to happen so quickly.

  44. This is basically it. Nobody is banning them from their choices, no matter how much protest there is on this thread. But if a Hibs/Hearts supporter from Edinburgh takes the piss out of me for Aberdeen being shite, I can take that in the jest it's meant and laugh about it. If a Celtic fan from Aberdeen does it, they'll be met with an 'ok mate' and me walking away.
