  3. I'm sure he misplaced a pass or two, aye. But we got 3 clean sheets and looked a whole lot more defensively sound in those last 3 games. Is he a natural defender? Nope. Would I rather he played midfield? Aye. But if him playing there provides the defensive balance we otherwise wouldnt have without him there, then fine. Saying hes been shite the last 3 games just screams that you made up your mind on him months ago and wont accept evidence to the contrary.

  18. My favourite aspect of this pandemic, is that it’s the perfect cover for me being an unsociable p***k. I’ll need to revert back to the old fashioned, but infinitely less well received, “because I don’t want to” excuse.

  29. 1300 viewers for yesterday’s game. Obviously a lot of those would be season ticket holders but it is better than I expected tbh. You’d probably be looking at an attendance of around 1800 at the game in normal circumstances so it is a decent effort. Well done to all at RaithTV for the excellent service. When you see issues clubs like Inverness, Arbroath, Ayr and Partick Thistle have had as well as teething issues at a few other clubs we are very fortunate the club have produced a product which has been great from the very first showing. I think that it reflected in the numbers tuning in (winning convincingly most weeks obviously helps too!!).

  31. Really? A bizarre stance. You'd want Scotland to not be able to run its own affairs and not be forced in to shite like leaving the EU against the will of the electorate just because there are are some shite SNP politicians? Yet you'd be happy for all manner of Tory scum to tell us to to eat our cereal forevermore? The same shower of evil who vote to starve children and give away contracts to their pals for fun? There isn't going to ever be a single party where there aren't shite politicians. The SNP won't be in power forever in an Independent Scotland, and should the 'coup' you mention happen those noted won't be running things forever either. Were they to take over an SNP government in Scotland and were shit, we'd at least be able to vote on our own future, including the possibility of getting them punted. Right now our votes hardly mean a thing save for the Scottish Parliament elections.

  32. https://www.idlehandsduffy.com/post/diamond-watches-airdrieonians-5-0-clyde A lot more fun to write than the last two! Roll on Wednesday. As @ShineOnYouCrazyDiamonds has pointed out (in painstaking detail, no less), this set up seems to be when we play our most effective stuff. A clean sheet to add to the goals hopefully underlines you can be hard to beat and unpleasant to play against without being shorn of guile, craft and attacking energy.

  35. This is pretty much how I feel about the election result. This was the most important election for years due to the global power that America holds, for better or for worse. Trump being elected legitimised a lot of views that some absolutely vile people had, and him being in power and appealing to them emboldened them to spout their bile without fear of reprisals. If someone like him was in power in arguably the most powerful nation on Earth then it effectively meant that other countries with loathsome populists in them could go "if it's good enough for them then it'll do us just fine". This is a rejection of this type of politics as a whole and the countries of the fascists mentioned above will be starting to shit themselves knowing that they can't cosy up to America any longer. Boris must be absolutely shitting himself knowing that his pal Donald won't give him a reasonable trade deal now, and knowing that Biden won't allow him to tear up the Good Friday Agreement. I also hope this is the beginning of the end of political "strategists" such as Cummings with their wacky ideas about shaking everything up and throwing the rulebook away just to benefit themselves. Biden wasn't my first choice for who I'd have liked to have seen in the oval office. However I believe he's fairly safe, has a decent moral compass as far as a lot of yank politicians go, and will let things return to a semblance of normality. None of those things can be said about the current incumbent and I absolutely cannot wait to bask in the delight that will be his very public downfall as Melania divorces him, Deutsche Bank call in their huge loans with him that he personally guaranteed, and the SDNY indict him for tax fraud dating from just after the 2008 crash when he claimed back over $100m in tax relief. For a man who's only ever cared about himself and not being a loser, I hope that he lives to a ripe old age and rots away in a jail cell, left only with his fading memories about when he was at the top of the tree - while deep down everyone knows he's the biggest loser of all.

  39. Not fussed about Dorrans leaving at all. I've been of the opinion that he's more of a problem in our midfield than he is the solution to anything. Not athletic and combative enough to be a destroyer or box-to-box type, and doesn't do anywhere near enough with the ball to be a creative force either. It's obvious he was a quality player once upon a time, but he's well past that and looked no better than an average Championship jobber with us. More money for McPake to waste on central midfielders when we've had a glaring problem between the sticks for two full seasons and can't find a decent CB to play beside McGhee
