  1. Ooooh. Myyy. Gooosh! So nice to hear from you! This is such a great post!!! But, you know, when I was on The Mickey Mouse Club we used to have a saying. "False words are not only evil in themselves, but they infect the soul with evil". LOL!!! Right? !!! I think it was Mariah Carey that said it first. Like. Wow!!! Riiiiight?!! You go ahead and have a GREAT day now!!!

  2. What a time to be alive, just everyone work all week and don't even think about having a pint , going ti sport or going to see friends. All those sacrifices during the summer months when Devi was trumpeting zero covid were really worth it. Shambles.

  3. What a huge lying c**t. Absolutely shameful pish, and I hope everyone sees through it for the pandering, desperate lie it is. All of the Scottish Tories voted against free school meals, except for Ross, who abstained like the coward he is. These c***s have always been shameless. They keep finding new lows. Scum, fucking scum.

  4. An excellent all round analysis but this stuck out for me. There is an inherent danger in comparing one country with another without factoring in these things. MD in Private Eye continues to provide the best, most balanced, pandemic analysis here and in the recent edition they highlighted the best ways to control a pandemic. Basically you need: A world class track and trace system: we don't though the t&t system in Scotland appears to work better than England's High levels of existing public fitness to allow people to recover from infection - we don't A world class health service that can cope with surges in infection without impacting on non Covid work - we don't A world class welfare state to help long term sick, unemployed and self employed - we don't We can debate how well the Westminster and devolved governments have handled the crisis and none, IMO, are exempt from criticism but the reason why we have performed so poorly has been the absence of a pre-existing infrastructure to deal with it. With the best will in the world there was no way we could have prevented Covid-19 from coming here. And decades and decades of neglecting the welfare state and decades and decades of under funding the health service left us massively unprepared for it. We should, IMO, be attacking less the individual leaders that have handled the crisis with varying levels of competency and more the free market, libertarian ideology that brought us to the position we found ourselves in when the pandemic hit. But I accept that is quite a nuanced argument in a time where nuance and balance are in short supply.

  6. I expected it to be a weird season on account of the 'rona (duh) and the reduced budgets, players having not kicked a ball for 6 months and no crowds. I've found fans in general who seem to be treating this season as normal in their expectations pretty fucking weird tbh. Having said that I didn't really expect the sort of season we're having generally. Depending on what happens with Carson we could be looking at signing our 3rd goalkeeper of the season. We had two players pick up serious injuries after the first game of the season. As it stands we've currently got 7 (SEVEN) defenders out injured or unavailable, there have been points where we've literally not had a left back available. We started off the season playing 433, switched to 352 because that wasn't working, have now switched back to 433. Our chief executive had a warrant issued for his arrest. I mean, it's a LOL and was sorted out but still...fucking hell. We've just come back from a month's hiatus before the first round of fixtures were even complete (with 2 of our defenders having started 3 games in a week for Scotland (and kept 3 clean sheets)). On top of that there's been the predictable stuff that everyone saw coming like Robinson interviewing for the NI job, Turnbull to Celtic. It's just felt like we've been fighting fires of various sizes. Relentlessly. Every day.

  7. Alston hadn't played a game since the 7th of march. That's 7 months and then missed preseason due to a knock. It's no surprise therefor that he's not as sharp or match fit as he needs to be. Any player would struggle in those circumstances. Bit of patience required.

All that can he heard at decison making level is must keep schools open repeated 300 times. Mental health nah, hard working businesses nah, leisure industry nah, mixing with friends nah, must keep schools open... Laughable.

  19. No one will believe me when I say I genuinely do not know if this the right decision or wrong decision - but a choice has been made here that every single aspect of life has been destroyed in order to keep schools open in their preexisting "normal" state. Numbers will not drop significantly with current schooling arrangements.

  22. That document on the tiers is staggering in its stupidity: Inverclyde score: 1 2 2 3 1 Numberwang verdict: into tier 3 you go! Stirling (worst of all): 2 0 2 0 0 Punted into tier 3 as well. Dumfries and Galloway has literally twice as large a score by the government's own metric than Stirling but the latter has been put under the harshest restrictions in the country for no valid reason whatsoever. The only way that this nonsense should be tolerated is if the courts are given the power to actually enforce/bin measures based on the objective criteria that the SG publishes in the public domain. Letting Clownshoes Leitch make the call by triangulating his desire to save Christmas fur the weans and keeping snippy parents onside is not a credible strategy.

  23. Your helpful reminder that with the SG (March to now) you always needed at least three weeks to determine the impact of relaxing measures before ever progressing on to the next step, but when it comes to justifying its latest bullshit semi-lockdown it takes just ten days to decide that they're definitely having an impact.

  24. It's quite a switch in tact, given that a little over 4 months ago JS claimed blended learning could be in place until next June. Now, apparantly, sacrificing anything and everything to keep schools open full time is everyone's "number 1 priority" It's almost as if they are guessing and hoping for the best, whilst making statements that they think people want to hear.

  28. I have to say, the thought of battering through the next five months of what will undoubtedly be a fucking shite winter knowing that the only two things I can do are go to work and sit in the fucking hoose* is fucking grim. *I'm obviously exaggerating a tad, but the principle remains.

  32. While sacking a failing manager too late is better than not sacking him at all, there really seems to be no strategic thinking at Brechin. Dods gets a whole season in the Championship while taking only four points, then while sitting mid-table the following season gets bagged for two successive defeats having just gone six unbeaten before that. Clearly being punished for the previous season rather than his results in 18/19, so that being the case why give him the summer rather than letting a new manager build a squad and work with them to prepare for the season? Smith takes over from Dods, makes things worse and gets relegated, but keeps his job and gets to build a team for the following season. He then gets sacked three league games into that season. Why give him the summer rather than a letting a new manager build the squad and work with them to prepare for the new season? Wilson takes over from Smith, there's no great improvement and he finishes the season adrift in bottom place having taken just 14 points from the 22 games he was in charge for, but keeps his job and gets to a build a team for the following season. He then gets sacked two league games into that season. Why give him etc etc?

  33. Did that boring fanny seriously use fucking Naples as an example of the people rising up to resist authority? I'm not sure one of the most corrupt, mafia-ridden cities in the developed world is a great example of anything tbqh.

  34. I've got no real expectations for this season - I'll genuinely be happy at the end of it if we are (a) still in business and in a shape to resume "normal", whenever that is and (b) still have our place in the top flight. Anything other than that feels a bit irrelevant at the moment. My biggest concern is not our league placing - it's about how many people have got used to not going to games on a Saturday as that has a big effect on (a)...

  36. Antibodies last a few months. That doesn’t mean you cannot be immune after they’ve worn off. Your immune system can remember how to rapidly make those antibodies if faced with the same coronavirus again, which provides a second line of immunity. First line immunity is actually having the antibodies (lasts six months or less) Second line immunity is being able to rapidly make those antibodies (may last longer) The media are jumping on this “no antibodies = no immunity” line because it’s a click bait

  37. I'm not ignoring anything. I saw your post about the protests and looked it up and it was reported to be a far right group who were specifically protesting about a curfew. Does that make their protest less relevant? No. Does it make me have less sympathy for them. Yes. Is that how you framed it? No If anything, it's you who is posting anything that may shade your viewpoint no matter how unsavoury the characters are. There was a similar protest in London over the weekend

  41. Indeed. A season at the seaside doesn’t seem quite as leisurely, as it would have been a couple of seasons ago. It will only become more difficult to navigate, as clubs with new found wealth start to climb the pyramid.
