  1. Will go on record and say that the last 4 months have been the only time in my life I've been even remotely embarrassed to be a Thistle fan. I can always accept shite players, shite games, shite seasons and shite managers. Relegation and cup pumpings are part and parcel of supporting a diddy team, so you can always accept it. But the utter nonsense we are hitting out with just now is beyond parody. The world literally came to a standstill. Hundreds of thousands of people have died, many thousands more have lost loved ones, jobs, etc. Football was and is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. There was never going to be a solution that satisfied every team, so it makes complete sense the worst teams in each division bare the brunt of it. Hearts and Thistle only have themselves to blame.

  2. I believe that most Hearts fans will accept the outcome and move on, myself included. When fans are allowed back to matches they will go home and away regardless of what is said on JKB. As there always has been, there will be anger towards the SPFL & SFA, nothing new there as most feel regardless of all the recent events that they are poorly run/administered and favour two clubs. The reality for us Hearts fans is there were very poor decisions made by those in charge at HMFC, with regards to Managers/Coaches and signing of players. Would we have avoided finishing bottom if the season had concluded naturally, probably not in my opinion, as we were terrible against bottom half sides with a Manager who was out of his depth and no better than the one he replaced. There have been some positives for us in recent weeks with the signing of RN, JJ and CG. Add in promises of financial assistance and we will move forward in a reasonable position all things considered. Hopefully the relegation clauses in players contracts are severe to the point a number choose to move on (should anyone want them). Now simply looking forward to the day that I can sit next to (or near) my mates, have a beer before and after the game and watch some live football.

  3. Worthy of a thread of its own. The recent self-inflicted grave misfortunes and actions of Heart of Midlothian Football Club will be unveiled to all in an intimate, all-areas documentary which is a complete and utter sure-thing to be nothing other than unfettered, unrelenting TV Gold. "Inside Tynecastle will be screened on BBC Scotland, and aims to explore the ups and downs of the 2019/20 season. Taking a fly-on-the-wall look at the inner workings of the storied Midlothian side, Inside Tynecastle will grapple with the daily challenges of running a top flight Scottish football team in the modern age. In particular, it will tell the story of the tumultuous 2019/20 season so far." https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/inside-tynecastle-what-new-hearts-documentary-about-and-when-it-tv-1370338 Quite simply lads, this has the potential to out-gun the Tiger King. Enjoy.

  6. More unbecoming nonsense from English in his latest piece for the BBC. Yes, there's amusement attached to Hearts' situation because they're a relatively big club, but the absence of empathy owes much more to the club's undignified, aggressive stance throughout this. The complete lack of humility has made them fun and easy to attack. His failure to recognise this surprises nobody of course, because he's been cheerleader in chief all along. This idea that nobody wants to talk about Partick Thistle's situation is also rubbish. Most can recognise that they were relegated on an identical basis, but by a tighter margin. In my Tom English parody, I'll observe once more that he picked the wrong horse and just held on tighter and tighter as it careered off maniacally. He now looks suitably bedraggled as he attempts to dismount.

  7. Good to see the contrarians applauding the fact that there are no deaths again. Oh, wait.... The fact that what the Scottish Government is doing seems to be working is the trigger to complain about what the Scottish Government is doing. Again.

  8. You're forgetting Hamilton's boycott of away grounds, which they've consistently maintained for a remarkable number of seasons now. </lazy Accies crowdwank joke>
    12 points
  9. Any boycott will be irrelevant anyway because there is next to zero chance of stadiums operating at close to full capacity in the season to come. After segregation is factored into things, they'll be lucky to get 1000 tickets for any ground in the league and will be fighting over them like starving rats in a sack, absolute NAP.

  10. There will definitely be a continuing crusade for reconstruction, spearheaded by Ann Budge. As she's established throughout this, and particularly in yesterday's outstanding statement, this was never really about where Hearts happened to find themselves when the music stopped. Instead, it's all been about governance, fairness and decision making. I'm quite certain that Ann's noble quest will continue well beyond the bounds of today's petty circumstances.

  11. And there was me thinking that a large part of the problem was Scottish clubs paying over the odds for mediocre foreign players, like oooohhhh, let’s say, for arguments sake, Stephane Adam?
    11 points
  12. However as I sit here listening, the Raith chairman is also pushing the 14,14, X solution as no one is harmed by that reconstruction. If his team had finished 7th instead of 1st, he would fckn see the harm. Playing Annan , Albion R and Elgin instead of Falkirk, Partick and Airdrie fairly focuses your thinking.

  14. f**k me English is a tedious w****r. Complains that SPFL governance is a shambles because of the court case involving 5 clubs. The SPFL couldn't do any more than they did by having explicit rules that football matters should go to the SFA. Hearts and Thistle have shat everywhere and now English wants to put the blame for it everywhere else. Tom is still struggling with company law. And that if 31% of clubs want an inquiry then 69% ( a number over twice as large) don't want one.

  22. Article is pure unadulterated pish! He knows he has lost the fight, misread the room and is now trying to mitigate it. He is also trying to shoe horn governance of SPFL into it (39% votes for a review into the SPFL governance), it's a smoke screen to the COVID-19 hit league finishing early, a separate issue. He is trying to use it to save face. Anyone of any intelligence sees through it. I agree with you regarding the condescending time about the "glee" in misfortune hitting a rival etc. Sorry Tom that's shite and you know it. Tom English, a previously well thought of BBC Sport Scotland correspondent, has backed the wrong horse, ignored facts that don't fit his point, spun comments to fit his agenda and thrown away all objectivity. He has lost all credibility. The sad thing is he can't see it.

  28. Can you imagine Scottish football without glee, rancour and suspicion at the centre of everything? Of course, within about 0.4 seconds of this remarkable outbreak of harmony, you'd start wondering why you're paying £25 a skull to watch some jobber from Notts County launch the ball the way they're facing 20 times per game and then the game's a bogey. If English wants to opine on a 'sport' where everybody gets along then he should stick to egg-chasing - which nobody gives enough of a toss about to get agitated over - and he can take Budge with him. It's abundantly clear that they do not understand the culture of Scottish football.

  31. I'm relieved that this pish is finally over and that we can finally get on with playing football (eventually). I haven't read the statement but I imagine it's the same sort of patronising, Low hanging fruit (pun intended) pish that our chairman has been putting out since the beginning of her tenure. I'm pleased I'll get to more games next season (more seaside league teams within an hour on the train than championship ones) and I hope that the pies in Montrose match the ones in Arbroath (which deserve a michelin star tbqhwy). What a farce, but can you imagine how dull and patter deficient the last couple of months in scottish football would have been without this whole saga? You're all welcome.

  34. It appears that one Jambo has a thought stirring deep, deep inside his brain. The whole thing has left me utterly bemused. Were we really in the wrong all the way all along? I believe the panel were experienced and impartial so I just can't fathom how they came to this conclusion. Is that my maroon tinted specs? Did we deserve this? Could it be...is there a chance...is it possible that Hearts could've been...wrong? Nah, far more likely that everyone, the government, the medical profession, 2 different footballing bodies, the chairman of every other club, the entire media AND the legal system are all corrupt and under the spell of that evil mastermind, Neil Doncaster. This boy gets it. Assuming the panel were fine upstanding people one can only assume that they were duped by lies and deceit of witnesses or they could not prove otherwise as on the face of it this was all wrong Must have been duped. Must have been.

  36. Why is a Celtic fan so upset? Upset that for once they can’t play the vhictim card?
    6 points
  37. Nah, I dont think we do. Ann Budge's statement is what you would expect from the losing side in a dispute. Still cant comprehend how they lost, repeats the same things again, bit bitter but its not unexpected. The Thistle statement with its 'everyone's out to get us' paranoia tone along with the creepy 'Thistle Family' patter is much worse for me. As I have said all along, I blame Hearts for this legal debacle entirely. Once it already existed Thistle can hardly be particularly blamed for taking a free ride along with it, especially as any fool can see they were MUCH more unfortunate than Hearts in the calculations. However, Thistle's public statements on it have been massively more cringeworthy than Hearts ones. They have been consistently dreadful attempts to play the 'everyone is going out of their way to pick on us' card.
