  4. Some clubs simply won't be able to afford/budget for doing that. Well done to those that can, but it is no shame if your club can't afford such largesse. Yours aDONis

  5. I take the point that the far right want a culture war and people want to avoid playing into their hands, but if the response to this is deciding never to challenge racist behaviour in case it provokes a culture war then racists will know they can be racist with impunity and they've already won.

  6. 17 new cases a day. Some second wave. Some people seem desperate for there to be a second wave in these countries that have loosened restrictions to justify to Scottish governments caution source: https://www.brusselstimes.com/all-news/belgium-all-news/118166/coronavirus-what-turns-an-outbreak-into-a-second-wave/

  7. Going to have this print available soon - don’t know whether to offer it with a white mount or a black mount (this is my side gig). I’ve sketched the photo I took the other day and coloured a section of it. http://etsy.com/uk/shop/StevenMcClureArt

  8. I want this laughed out of court, I really do. Hearts want the equivalent of the top three premiership prize monies combined for winning a grand total of 4 league games all season Partick want the equivalent of finishing 3rd in the premiership for winning 6 games all season and being bottom of the championship. Budge got her chance to save her arse with reconstruction and couldn't muster the backing. The member clubs voted on it and vast majority rejected it. Season is over, you finished bottom. Get doon

  14. My Daughter turned 2 on Sunday, crazy how fast time goes by! Didn't get to celebrate Father's Day on Sunday so done it yesterday. Watching wee Juliana follow her big Brother around the place is so cute, you realise how lucky you are . Got this cracking wee picture of them on Sunday.

  15. The whole world was a completely different place 4 months ago. As we have seen in Germany, if a spike occurs, it is clamped down on really quickly without the same widespread disruption we had back in the spring. Everyone is far more aware of the dangers and we are all taking far more precautions than we did at the start. I am fairly confident that, should a spike occur anywhere now, it will be stubbed out relatively quickly.

  16. I'm a socialist and I've been pushing the common weal plan for a different type of economy after all this. But i worry that another big obstacle is that a lot of people on the left think they have to oppose easing restrictions on political grounds. This is not a right v left issue imo. Some of the folk being damaged the most by extended restrictions are families at the bottom of society, and especially their kids. Those children need schools to be back ft, asap. Middle class folk's weans are doing much better.

  17. Your options for exercising outside are pretty much restricted to running, walking or cycling (if you have access to a bike). I've been running in order to keep active but can't say I enjoy it. I do enjoy the gym because the equipment there is tailored to the sport I train for. I also have friends from the gym who I haven't seen for months. I don't think it's unreasonable for those of us who enjoy the gym as a hobby to question why they can't reopen but pubs and restaurants can. Suggesting that you can exercise outside is the same as suggesting to someone desperate for the pubs to reopen that they just have a drink at home - there's a social aspect to both which people miss and it's not as straightforward as saying "you've had other options since day 1 of this".

  20. What about black on black crime though? type post. You've just plucked this "it's about grooming gangs, actually" logic out of your imagination with no evidence. Meanwhile, anyone who responds to someone saying "black lives matter" in response to institutional racism by saying "white lives matter" or "what about white lives" is either a racist who knows fine well what they're doing, or thick as pigshit in failing to comprehend that saying "black lives matter" isn't a statement which says black lives matter more than other lives but should be valued equally. Talking about white lives in response to that is only ever an attempt to divert attention from the issue at hand. No, I don't think they should be prosecuted in this case, but Burnley would entirely correct to ban them.

  23. Dont you think that the South Koreans may have learned something, and maybe are capable of handling a rise in cases without it turned into a health service crippling, nationwide emergency? I personally am banking on even the least competent of governments (ours) handling a second wave considerably better than the first even without a lockdown based on the fact that the last 4 months actually happened. Been over this before but if you accept three truths, firstly that this virus wont go away without a vaccine, secondly that no vaccine can be assumed to be possible, and thirdly that our current measures are totally unsuitable anything other than preventing the meltdown of the NHS and are causing colossal damage to our entire society, then I dont really see how you can argue for anything other than removal of restrictions as quickly as possible.

  24. I think the problem here is that folk assume things then reach their own conclusion of what the advice is going to be before actually hearing what the advice is. People guessed at what was planned yesterday, they've been shown up as wrong so are now claiming it's a massive u-turn from the SG to justify the fact they were raging for pretty much no reason yesterday.

  37. So you don't think anything has changed over the last week? We have gone from having no chance of opening normally and Swinney hinting blended* learning could be in place for a year, to hopefully opening as normal? That's a huge change in 7 days imo, and even yesterday there was not a glimmer that anything other than part time attendance for pupils was on the cards. *Autocorrect initially changed that to bellend, I was tempted just to leave it.

  39. Really good 90 minute chat- main updates in terms of the here and now: Season tickets announced this week. Will be cut priced based on shorter season with access to streaming where necessary. Season due to start 17th October, Betfred Cup in first 2 weeks. Lots of "Covid friendly" adjustments being made to the ground in terms of layout and setup. Likely to be some kind of work to join the ground with Wasp Centre for easier access to the facilities where/if needed Looking at admission of season ticket holders with distancing if viable to do so based on government guidelines at that point in time. Squad pretty much signed up with exception of Flannigan (obviously) and O'Hara (who we will get a compensation fee for if he goes full time)

  41. Not as underwhelming as your posts under your countless different names, you clearly have no knowledge of junior football with your observation about Beith and their signings, Beith are going about their business in a professional manner with a new manager that's brought an enthusiasm and energy to the job this I'm sure will be reflected upon the team on the pitch in the coming seasons, but thanks for your concern but save it for the clubs and teams that need it.
